The girl in the middle is a blessed charm to the Indian Classical Art. Her levels of perception and dedication to the Art is so incredible that her entire body mind & soul are enriched with divine spirits. May she attain even higher levels of perception and her wishes come true. Good luck to her future endeavors.
The girl in the cream and green saree in the front left is super graceful. Executed steps beautifully. Her bends and moves were so graceful. Wonderful dancer.
She did great! Some people like their dance flowy, others like it crisp. For this item I prefer the latter and she executed it perfectly :) well done!!
It is rare to see foreigners learning Bharatanatyam and execute adavus without the foreign accent in the style. The caucasion girl in this video is one example who literally has the Indian girl in a caucasion skin. It is a pleasure to watch!
The lady in blue is Sudha Radhakrishnan. She was my senior at Kalakshetra. She performs with Dakshina/Daniel Phoenix Singh Dance Company in the Washington DC area. You can google them To find out more, good luck!
Any chance I could get a clearer version of the audio? My guru has taught me this original composition, but only have an audio track recorded from a live performance. It would be great if I could get a clear audio.
omg, how did that guy tie his veshti?!? i've been trying to find on youtube on how to tie that way but i cant! I hope someone helps me :/ -a new bharatham dancer-
Haribol, i feel like this is one of your best videos so far. You're in top form and everything is synchronized so nicely. From abhinayas to stamina. Especially the stamina! Was this the workshop where u felt alittle sad that Smt leela samson didn't notice or commend on ur performance? It's totally understandable because my eyes were totally fixated on you,u outshone the rest here. Not nearly anywhere as good a dancer as you but am a dancer too and this needs appreciation
@Vrinda Sheth...hey there!!!great dance...u did an excellent job on ur adavus and expressions....one small doubt...where do u get this exact ananda natam idum song?is it available online...if so which site...can u pls share...this will be very useful to many people...thanks.....
I wanna dance this but sadly no one accept me because I'm American I can work hard I love dancing I was born to dance yes I might be slow but I'm a fast learning but I know there is no place for me I know I am not Indian but my soul is Indian ❤️ .. That' American girl is lucky that she got accepted to there culture 😓😭
Judging from some of the comments here, it would seem you are right :( Thankfully I never felt discouraged by my teachers or anyone at Kalakshetra, the school I studied at. Keep doing what you love. You will be rewarded.
Desi Lavette, did you try wit Shobana's school of Dance? www.shobana.in or you can also try this one! www.narthaki.com/bhnatyam/bh2bbi.htm No one in an Indian dance school will reject you because you are an American. May be you need to work more on the expressions, but you will be accepted and trained with full support. Please keep trying!
Desi Lavette Ur most welcome ....Dance dosen't see country, race or religion ....it's all about ur feelings...Dance & Music is a rythym of ur soul & ur heart ......Please don't hesitate to come in INDIA ....we the dancers look for real talents not for country or religion
Like Any dance teacher told you that you are not accepted because you are an American ?! Lol, INdia is one of the very few culture where everyone is accepted as they are. You are most welcome either in India to join any dance class you want. This comment is bit judgmental, am sorry
I live in FL in the US. We recently welcomed a new baby to our family, so Ive been on hiatus from dance because of this. But I'm about to resume :) Check out my facebook page to keep updated: facebook.com/VrindaDancer/
Why is everyone so surprised at the foreigner dancing ? It's time Bharatanatyam is viewed as an art form that sees no race, culture or creed. Unfortunately it's not, north Indian Bharatanatyam dancers still get treated like foreigners versus our south asian counterparts, who are viewed as Pyurrr (pure) and superior. Ps: She is extraordinary, because she practices and obviously loves dancing. The others are equally good, but the Red Dupatta has the X factor.
the foreigner danced the worst, not at all feminine, the front girl had all kinds of swan like grace....a bit angry with the foreign girl's naam ka vaas forced dance, in the beginning of the video, she sways her hand like shes bored, unbelievable people actually liked her
Dear Ananth S7, I'm sorry to hear that seeing me dance, because I'm of the "wrong" skin color, brought up anger for you :( And as Rukmini Devi said, "We dance with our bodies, but we finally forget them and transform them." My prayer is to express and experience something that goes beyond bodily designations.
My teacher is teaching this keerthanam now. This is an awesome piece of work. Unable to find the original audio though. It would be great if someone can send the link of the original audio. Thanks in advance
