The beatles ? I mean. Im gonna trash a band from England that really just wanted to be american. But Anberlin is a hallmark is melodic rock n roll. Thats like comparing a tasty ass apple pie to a old french waffle.
When i was in prison we had a Christian video channel .The first time i heard this I felt like i was bathed in light. It made me think about my EX and the strong bond we shared. She is my best friend.Well to say now.She is asleep and im up watching this.Im going to lay down and snuggle with her.Thank you God for what u have blessed me with
This song is soooo damn underrated. It's my fall season song. When the season starts to change from summer to fall, I always have to play this. It takes me back to a long distance relationship I had and on my way home, I knew we wouldn't see each other again for quite some time. That was 6 years ago. We're married now and moved in together. But for some reason I like going back there sometimes. I guess it makes me realize how lucky I am.
It's sad but at least they are leaving on good terms :) I'm going to see them live twice before it's over! Don't worry about money or you'll kick yourself in the future!
Nobody's pointed out so far that the video's director is Norma Jean's original drummer (NJ's best 3 albums IMO). Not to mention, he was also Aaron Gillepsie's replacement for UnderOath last album. And he drummed for Colour Revolt for a while. So I'll point it it out. - iRRi
What an under-appreciated and under-loved song. Gosh, 2014 was awesome for me. This album and this song were my soundtrack for that year of my life. Such nostalgia now that I listen to this haunting track. Yes, you do need to get used to it. But once you do, you realize how great this song really is...
I loved this track from the first play. Something that has the melodic characteristics of an 80’s’track from a band like the Church (under the Milky Way)
And this is how it ends. Thank you Anberlin for 11 years (it was 2003 when I first heard "Readyfuels") and a lot of outstanding music. I won't applaud, for that doesn't feel appropriate; instead I will simply nod my head in approval and quietly wave farewell to one of my favorite bands...
Locking eyes the waning glance, mistook chance Of adding meaning to the words forever Broken silence, defiance, misspoke turn Will I see you again if ever? Come on and leave me here I'm a vagabond though, wandering the night alone Right now you're over there In the social club state, pondering the wine While we elope A little bit closer to finding the real you A little bit closer to finding the truth Stranger things have happened Stronger men have answered A little bit closer to loving you Yet defying I'm lying If I didn't tell you You keep me up late at night Is it all I ever call your lover Even though we don't know each other And probably never will Would you stay with me Here in my dreams? If I promised you this heaven Would you take a chance On a make believe dance? Close my eyes and we're together A little bit closer to finding the real you A little bit closer to finding the truth Stranger things have happened Stronger men have answered A little bit closer to finding the real you A little bit closer to finding the truth Stranger things have happened Stronger men have answered A little bit closer to loving you A little bit closer to holding you A little bit closer to knowing you A little bit closer to touching you
Anberlin may be stopping, but they will never end. All of us fans are so grateful or the mark you've left on us. Your music will live on in those of is whose lives you have touched. God bless all of you guys as you seek out new paths after Anberlin. I'll see you in Seattle this October.
I miss you guys so much. Like the last commenter, I have nothing but waterfalls right now. I'm glad my first show I at least caught was your last. I miss you
You better come back sometime in the future. I know how hard it is to manage a band while trying to start families, but I hope sooner or later you guys will come back. Much love and respect. See you on saturday!
Anberlin! STAY!!! please!!! you dont have to do it! WHy?! you are so great togeather! you should become a living music history. We dont want to let you go :(
Man, l can't believe these guys are retiring. Such a fantastic ride. Cities and NTFP are in my top 10 favourite albums. Lowborn is amazing quality too. Glad they're going out on such a high. You shall be missed Stephen and the rest of the guys. ANBERLIN FOREVER
That dolly zoom on the table is probably the coolest use of that technique i've seen. I'll admit it's pretty much changed my opinion from never ever wanting to go near using it to actually wanting to try it haha.
The song brings tears streaming down my face of a life I onced lived before prison. My second day in prison my cellmate had a TV and he would watch the Christian Channel videos and this song came on and it made me question my life and my direction. I did four years day for day in a very bad prison you'd be surprised how many loved ones and friends passed away and just four years .....😫😫😫😫😭😭😭but this song brung me hope
oh so bittersweet... Anberlin has been a big part of my life for just shy of 10 years now, i hope with all the hope i have i can make it to one of the final shows!
I am 31 and still LOVE music videos. I know you guys have aged as well too, but don't give up! I know life takes us places, but music gets us through the rough times. I know there will be a reunion tour in 10yrs... that's inevitable, but I don't wanna wait that long.
You guys are the BEST! Not sure why your not super famous but its probably for the best!! God bless your return and thanks for the Haunting .....it means so much to me♡♡♡
You know with all this stuff that's been going on with the end of Anberlin, kind of surprised that we the fans and the band haven't been trashed once by AtomicFriendo through all this. Kind of miss his comments in a way...NOT!
This is amazing and perfect. I saw you guys live a few years ago as my first live show. Thank you so much for everything you've done. Spectacular. #lowborn
Great Band, even though loved only by a few, your songs were great, inspiring, and I really found out the real MUSIC AND SONG in this band :) Farewell Anberlin ! :)
I hope u guys do a music video for atonement as well. I think with what the song stands as a tribute to the fans, a music video for that song as ur final music video would truly be a proper send off.
I'm glad I got to see you finally on your last tour. I miss you guys. That was a great day and a sad day for me. I literally cried the whole set. I couldn't help it at all.
You guys where really great... Music like this still needs to be made. I love the television in the video... with the wave mid-break. Very cool. Thank you.
What do you all think the video is about? It looks like Stephen put his arms into a cross position during the video so that made me think there was a religious tone to this. However, when everyone was being put into positions that forced them to play I wonder if it was symbolic to their ending? Maybe they feel that the feeling of being forced to play is creeping slowly upon them? Anyone have an idea what the frozen waves meant? My guess is that it is very literally in the sense that the tide in turning. Nice video. Love the song. Long live Anberlin.
The way I understood it was that the band was enjoying their music in the start (the bobbing heads and whatnot) and at the end, the black stuff was forcing them to. Almost like they wanted to stop making music and something was forcing them to keep doing it.
I got that a bit too. The only weird thing is that (in interviews) they don't seem be forced to play. They're ending on their own terms which is why I assume they black smoke is creeping so slowly
BournGamer LOL! Ouch xD I like the song but I was surprised that they made a music video for it. And the video really didn't seem to match the songs intensity.
I love you guys and this album, including this song, is awesome. I was watching it with some sadness since I know this is it but at 1:29 when I saw that shirt I busted out laughing for some reason. :)
