!!!!!! THE FIRST FULL DOCUMENTARY about Perge on RU-vid !!!!!!
Let's explore one of the ancient capitals of Pamphylia - Perge / Perga. Although the heyday of Perge falls in the Roman period (the 2nd - 3rd century CE) the city was already known by the Hittites in the 13th century BC as “Parha”.
Let’s walk through the same streets, on which St. Paul, Plancia Magna, Alexander the Great, and Emperor Hadrian once walked and let’s learn about the history, religion, and architecture of this wonderful place!
Explored in November 2021.

Thank you for the tour and the names of the different rooms (18:29) it does make sense: _frigidarium_ (fridge/frozen), _tepidarium_ (tepid/warm), _caldarium_ (cauldron where a calda/soup is made). Great edutainment content you have been releasing, please keep it up!

No one knows anything about Perga because it's never publicized, so you've done it a big service by documenting so many of its many features. It's much larger than I would have expected, especially the amphitheater. I was hoping to not find a lot of evidence of casting, but wouldn't you know, it was everywhere...so I slowly and methodically captured about 75 screen freezes...while running the speed often at only .75% It makes you sound like you are about to fall asleep. ;) . Great job as always! And that weather is very enviable. Where I live we've gotten about nine feet of rain so far this winter.

@@ancientsitesgirl I live in the area of the largest trees on the planet, the giant Redwoods of Northern California...near the Oregon border. My neighbor told me an hour ago that an eight foot thick Redwood fall flat onto the ground near the only road through this area. I'll get some photos of it next time I pass that way.

Great video, recently found your channel and I like it. Have you considered visiting other Asian countries like Iran or India? I have been to Persepolis twice in Iran (ceremonial capital of Achaemenid Persia, destroyed by the Macedonians under Alexander the Great) and it's great, the relief carvings there are amazing. It's the Middle East but it's not as dangerous as people in the West think, in my opinion.

Compulsively watching these videos for the umteenth time (hem). I had no idea about the existence of such cities as Perge and Side, never mind the extent of them, until seeing your channel. Those remains of the market and Theatre are amazing. I liked also the Egyptian connection with the column shafts of pink Aswan granite. Excellent work, Irena! And if all goes according to plan we'll raise the money to buy you a time machine. See you at another Ancient Siiiite! 🤠

Perge is outstanding, Irena - & who wouldn't wish the ability to travel back in time ? Indeed, to all the sites of the Ancient world; I suppose one might say that they would no longer be classified, 'Ancient'; a small price to pay for the wonder of newly constructed city complexes. If it were possible to return, I'd certainly come along for the adventure !

I am afraid your narrative is completele nonsense, Perge is built from concrete you can see the rebar throughout the site, and sophisticated precast blocks have been used to construct the theatre and stadium, please stop parroting nonsense.
