I say this as a divorced person with kids - The whole Wyatt thing sounds like a kid manipulating his father so he doesn’t move on with someone else and have a life. Wyatt is not a small child - he is turning 15. The way Kathy is described as not present for her kids and always running off for work and with her boyfriend makes her sound irresponsible and irrelevant to her family with Aiden being the perfect parent. Kathy does not appear to be that type of parent. I find his willingness to cut Carrie out his life for literally years and to run back to be the savior of his family quite unbelievable - is he really going to let his son control and manipulate his life to this extent? So writers - if you are listening - honor the divorced parent journey and have Aiden come to his senses in the next season.

oooh thats interesting.. maybe be part of his storyline next season. he will realize that he is being played by his wife like a pawn. and his kid doing this on purpose to keep him away from moving on is a bit selfish.

The problem with the writers for this show is they don't understand how to write for older, heterosexual women which is the shows core audience. 4 of the 5 people in the podcast are LGBT and more interested in imposing what they want people to think vs honoring the characters and the way that they think. I will never understand how Samantha Kirby has been handed a screenwriting career from being a blogger when her screenwriting is just beyond horrendous. Talk about privilege, especially when so many out there have worked hard at their screenwriting careers for years and could have helped deliver such a great show. Two bad seasons are enough, I am not coming for thirds.

After 6 seasons of looking for emotionally available men without fear of commitment, they all decide that "you should give up expectations". That's something you hear from a married guy who doesn't want to leave his wife. The script is ridiculous.

I liked that you consulted with knowledgeable and insightful African American writers on this series. What you did there made the characters feel more authentic and for the 1st time in a long time, I as an African American felt heard, valued and warranted in my thinking. When those two tenured professors representing Columbia were in the room talking to one another as colleagues, that was a first in a recent series of two Black professors celebrating with one another without any fear of tokenism. That feels good to see the growth, that there can be more than just 1 spot open for African Americans to fill, not to be pinned against one another for that 1 position. Thank you for that writing.

There have always been shows and movies about black professionals. For decades. I pretty much never see my culture on screen, most Americans cannot point to my country on a map, lol. Which is why I find is very odd that a Black American who has so much black content to choose from for decades, where so many black musicians, actors, authors, dancers and athletes saturate our screens and media would look to this one show for "value". It really shows how Americans take for granted their country dominates screens all over the world and how self-absorbed they are.

Best episode so far. We are finally seeing the women as we remember them. Carrie needs to move forward. Samantha not being on the show is a huge void even with the new characters. That was very apparent during the phone call. Miranda is being dressed in very smart fashion which is refreshing after she’s been bumbling around for two seasons. Charlotte is just Charlotte. What are your hopes for Season 3? Mine are below: - No Che, Smoke, or Smoke’s wife at all. The writers can have 4-5 lines explaining where they’ve been. - More of the 3 ladies together. - Samantha PLEASE! As others have suggested, just follow her life in London and have her periodically call the ladies if she doesn’t desire to be on the screen with them. Have Charlotte or Miranda visit Samatha to incorporate the other ladies in the story. - Have Carrie date and not just sit around waiting for Aiden. - Very limited screen time for the added characters. We watch for the original cast of ladies. - Give Nya a better storyline or just eliminate her character bec she was not given much at all to work with this season.

I really enjoyed the second season and I applaud the writers for juggling so many storylines. As a single 51 year old woman without children, and an original viewer since Episode 1 of SATC, I have one request for the writers.. please consider a storyline for Carrie that offers a man without so much baggage or at least one that can get his troubled child professional help. She shouldn’t have to put her life on hold for a selfish teenager. With the exception of Brady, the disrespectful, obnoxious behavior by the kids on AJLT has been tough to watch. Many of my friends and family members have kids and I’ve never seen them disrespect their parents or try to run their lives like the AJLT kids. BTW, I love Seema and Anthony. They add so much to the show... and Samantha's cameo was perfect. Thank you for 25 years of these fantastic characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed Season 2!!! Highlights: Miranda coming back to self and, wow, the Steve-Miranda conversation at Coney Island was PERFECTION. Dr. Nya Wallace. LOVE this character and her arc. More of Nya in Season 3, PLEASE and THANK YOU!!! LTW and Herbert have a fantastic arc HOWEVER!, did y'all really need to tip-toe around the word "abortion"?!? Lowlights: I really only have ONE MAJOR lowlight and that's the ABSURDITY of the Aiden-FIVE YEAR WAIT storyline. Huh??! I'm a divorced mom. I was in a long-distance relationship with my second husband before moving and marrying him. I had a young son at the time we were long-distance while my second husband had two teenagers. I FULLY understand the challenges of having an almost 15 year-old who needs to be "parented." HOWEVER. Aiden does NOT need to cut all ties with Carrie in order to parent his youngest son; in fact, he's doing his son, Wyatt, a HUGE disservice by behaving as though he's the ONLY parent who can parent when he has JOINT CUSTODY and an established one week with dad; one week with mom parenting schedule. I could totally understand if Aiden's ex-wife was a toxic/dysfunctional parent who was harmful to her kids ... however, that's not the type of woman/mom the writers created her to be (in the scene she had with Carrie, in the restaurant). So to write a storyline about how Aiden has to cut all ties with Carrie until Wyatt is TWENTY YEARS-OLD because Aiden is the ONLY parent who can parent his kid - UNTIL HIS KID IS TWENTY!!!! - is next-level ridiculousness. PLEASE do some re-vamping of this storyline for Season 3. There's absolutely no reason why Aiden can't sneak away for weekend visits with Carrie in NYC every now and again ...maybe bring the boys with him ... and there's FaceTime and ZOOM and Carrie can get on a plane to navigate the whole Wyatt thing, too ... as the woman in Wyatt's dad's life, as so many of us divorced parents have done. Ok. Thanks.

For anyone who doesn't know, michael patrick king revealed the real reason Kim Cattrall left the franchise: As the years went on and the show's popularity grew, Kim asked for equal pay for ALL four actresses. Michael and #sarahjessicaparker refused. "No one was ever going to touch [Sarah Jessica Parker's contract]. Her name was contractually, legally, righteously, the only name on the poster due to the fact she was a movie star in 1998 when the series started. And it doesn't matter how popular you are, and I guess for Kim it didn't matter how much the raise became if there was never parity, but there never was going to be parity." #equalpay

Really miss having Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda be at the heart of the story. I know the writers / producers aim was to create a new chapter of SATC, and move things along by creating new characters to tell new stories, but I think they're forgetting / misunderstanding, is the reason why people are so invested in the show is because of the history and the connection they feel towards the OG3.

Everything about this show is so bad. Ridiculous, very bad writing and a parody of the original show. It's almost pathetic all these actors have wanted to be in this after reading the script. It's ruining their reputation. At least I'm no longer hesitating between Big and Aiden - good thing Carrie went for Big. It's like Aiden has plotted to deliberately hurt her back for the heartbreak she caused him (though it was him who left her twice). Even Samantha was a parody of the original - I thought at lead the 30 seconds Kim had on the show would be good but no. Maybe it's the bad editing/post production?

Let's be honest, the writers made a mess of season 1 and tried to fix the mistakes raised by the audience, in season 2. It was not part of some clever plan on the part of creators. Waiting 5 years for Aiden is absurd. Carrie would kill that kitten within 3 days. People do not dislike all stand-ups, just the character of Che, because they are so narcissistic, and not funny. Anthony and Giuseppe's relationship is not believable (and is Giuseppe being coercive and controlling) ETC ETC ETC...

I fully understood that AJLT S1 was a reintroduction of incredible characters that had lived through over two decades after the end of SATC. Not once did their arch felt unreal neither incoherent to me. Yes, it was tough. But, hey, so is life. Expecting 50+ women to behave like 30+ women would be unrealistic, if not offensive, to mature viewers. As most of us fans, I have waited with bated breath for AJLT season 2, past the prologue, and, again, it felt absofuckinglutely real to me, including good old Aidan. Also, the life of a stand-up comedian, with its ups and downs, and their own coming of a mature age, was dead on. We're not in the 90's anymore and keeping those incredible characters stuck in a nostalgic world would feel depressive, if not, outright pathetic to me. On the other hand, it did feel as though the writers were more thoughtful and sensitive to the fandom. Seeing Samantha again was an absolute treat, a much needed blast from the past indeed, but it feels as though the show is ready to move on having paid its respects to her. Of course, I'm sure we will love to see her sprinkled on another episode as a cherry on the sunday, but it's all good as far as I'm concerned. Great writing! Kudos! And I can't wait for season 3! Thanks guys!!!

I hated that bit round the table. It wasn't fun at all. The fact that it only took 2 mins to write and no effort shows how lame it was and extremely limited vocabulary- a successful lawyer can't think of any words? And Carrie, a once successful, pithy writer, is so embarrassingly inarticulate in this scene.

I loved season 2 so much. Can't wait for season 3. I am excited to see what happens with Aiden. I love how real the storyline is with kids and starting over. Hoping for more Samantha cameos.

I would love Che if she wasn’t so narcissistic, one way and self absorbed. Obnoxious AF. She didn’t think of anyone but herself the whole time. Did you write her that way so that you get her off the show later? She is beautiful and intelligent but it’s all about her 24/7 with these other women.

HBO has a few really excellent programs. This is one of the worst shows ever made. The original SATC was good. This reboot is devoid of anything but the most cringing dialogue ever written for the screen. They’ve lost all discernment. None of the new characters are worth having there. The kids are revolting human beings.

@@gandhiangles3213 This was originally about being young single and in Manhattan. No one wants to watch people old enough to be a grandmother acting like they are 28. This show had a time and a place and that’s over. It was a vacuous show in the 1990s. Today it’s dated vacuous woke nonsense. It’s like watching MJ try to return to basketball long after his prime. It was sad.

I do! I want to watch 50 + y.o. Women living their beat lives in Manhattan. Not being side characters like in every single movie and series but central ones. So I’m here for it. The first season was horrendous but things for better and better in second season so I have hope for third season.

@@drstevej2527it was about women breaking barriers : When they were young, Being single and in your thirty’s was considered tragic. They made it fabulous. Now being older for single women is considered tragic. “No one wants to see that” . Well women shouldn’t have to hide because they’re aging. They fall in love, have interesting careers etc. You don’t have to watch it of course if you’re not interested but there’s a whole demographic interested. Ajlt is for them. ❤
