Yeah, it felt like they wanted to place Stanford into the show no matter what but still not acknowledge that he passed. Super awkward… the wedding dress really should have been given more screen time, especially given how hard it was apparently for them to get the dress back again for the shoot.
thanks so much for your review on this Dacob - so far the season is fun with these first episodes setting up the various storylines and moving along pretty fast.I liked many moments even if the writing is a bit heavy handed at times and sure there are always some awkward moments-- but there always were in satc ! just maybe in a different more crass way back then. so glad to see your perspective and that you are still giving the show a fair shake 🥰
First off: You’re amazing! 🤗 Second: Just wanted to write this here and I hope it’s ok that I write my opinion that was sparked from your video: It’s not true that they weren’t diverse for their time. Remember the drag queens in the meat marked (Samantha), or Carries boyfriend who was Bi? Or Miranda and her female coworker who her boss tried to fix her up with? Or our beloved Stanford? This was before all the pronounce but for their time they tried, and did a good job. I am a woman who literally grew up with these girls in the 90’s with Sex & The City, and the reason it worked so well back then was: it was so darn real. The clubs, the problems, the noise. When the movies came out it was too polished and I also fell completely off after the movies. And third : that ice cream looks sooo good
Thanks Emilia 🥰 but the diversity that ai was talking about and the diversity the girls from the show were talking about in interviews is lack of other ethnicities and color as main characters in the og series.
It kinda bothered me that the two black characters were very light skinned. They looked mixed race to me. Like ok they wanted to include diversity so they chose light skinned black people with green eyes, so light that it looks like they just have a summer tan. I get that the show is trying to bring in diversity but I feel like they played it safe. We still dont didnt get representation of medium-to-dark skinned black people in the media, which is the majority of black people.
Thats a good point. I also notice whenever Beyonce is on a cover of major magazines, they see, to lighten her skin alot… she even looks white on some covers… allegedly.
Nya Wallace seems medium brown to me but I guess it's perception. I understand what you mean. Smoke...Jackie's wife is browner but she isn't a main cast member. I don't like the direction any of the new characters are going in to be honest.
@@totallydacobThey do it for all major stars of color sadly sometimes even if the star tells them not to do it. That has happened in the past and now.
Yes I agree that bothered me too . They also made the black professor come off problematic and defensive. Their are other ways to display strong black women . Js it came off very stereotypical for me !
Im so sick of the beef with sjp and kim, this is a show, lets not conflate issues. Maybe this is me, i always looked at kim sideways because she went on a campaign of how evil sjp was and sjp really never said anything bad about her. I dont know.... i always look at such situations with a grain of salt. I also found it weird how people brought the beef between them, into the show as well, its just a show, and things move on...
Then I recommend you just stick to the videos I post separately to my channel. I posted each episode review of And Just Like That season 2 as a separate video. In those stand alone episode review videos I do not eat. In the livestreams, however, you have to expect eating sounds and more.
✨✨✨For the record Charlotte has one biological child and the other one is adopted. Her biological child would be considered a rainbow 🌈baby bc Charlotte miscarried her first child in the tv series with Harry . Remember when Miranda had a baby shower and Charlotte arranged it for her .
