What a sweetie. Slowly but surely I think he is picking the odd thing up. I must say he is begging to tug at my heart strings. Lovely young man. You are a brave lady taking two on. Keep up the good work. Love and hugs to you all. 🤗🤗🥰🥰
Oh so funny watching have a roll in the sand, just a baby...then head down and bum in the air!! Great to have short lunging time, gets him listening to you and understanding your words. So beneficial for handling on the ground and putting everything in place for the future. Love your matter of fact approach with your horses. It's when you are weak and indecisive that people get issues with their horses
Oh Tara... I just can’t believe how well developed he is for a yearling. If I had to guess I’d never think he was that young. He is going to be one great looking horse under saddle. Love your confidence in the manage with him. He will soon realize that as long as you are there is is perfectly safe. I do believe that he is going to learn fast and show you what a good choice you’ve made in him.
He loved his first sand roll, couldn't get enough of it ! Little & often is certainly paying off, he really wants to please you bless him ! He looks really stunning in his lime green halter, good choice to go with his beautiful colour.
I see a sweet yearling speaking horse language and a human trying to communicate using human language. Out of kindness that equines exhibit, he is actually trying to manage. I am glad, at least, that Tara seems to want to help him and be kind. However, horses are herd animals and they communicate with horse language. Humans will get farther if they learn to teach using horse language. Right now, you are depending on the kindness of your yearling to reach out to understand you. He will miss half of his education which could be dangerous as he grows older. I wish you all the best. Edited to add...this is what I am talking about. This man is speaking in horse language to the yearling. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e2YQC9GJTUg.html My motive for posting is not to be mean...but I truly want to help you.
So lovely to watch, Diablo doing well, you give him confidence when needed and lots of praise when he succeeds. Such a good teacher, you make me laugh too which is always a good thing.🐎💖
Some people say he is cute , not the word I’d use , more like a strong willed toddler seeing how many biscuits he can sneak out of the tin , lol it’s all to do with pressure and release , you do a good job Tara lots of , ground work , leads to a well balanced and rounded mind ,
Diablo is learning manners around the humans. Lol! Like all young geldings and especially colts, they tend to be pushy. A little like unruly teenage boys! Everything is a huge game including lunging. Diablo is picking it up well he is an intelligent horse. I like your training methods Tara, firm but kind.
.....Hooray! Diablo is off to school! 💕💕🐴💕💕💕. Great beginning! Love the green training collar and lunge line. 👏👏👏👏👏👏. He’s put on a little weight thanks to the yummy grass in the paddock! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
He loved rolling on the menage, so sweet to watch. He did really good lunging for his first time. He has so much spirit and such a brilliant personality! What a lovely horse!!
Short and sweet...that’s what is best. Without manners any young horse will become a bully and possibly dangerous when grown. It is vital they learn who is in charge, which makes for a good relationship all around. He is doing very well! 🥕🐴❤️
I guess the feeling of the sand under his hooves and rolling is like a cat with his cat nip. Love to watch them roll.i think he’s going to be a pretty fast learner. As always Thankyou.👍🏻😊
He seems like a quick learner and wants to please. It's amazing how good he is because at the moment he knows nothing. In just a few weeks with you he's come on so much. Dx 💙
Wow I think he was fantastic! First time lunging! 👍👍👍 He’s going to be brilliant by the time you get to ride him. He’s smart so that’s a major tick. You’ll have a great time with Diablo. And can’t wait to see how little Miss Muffett is going to be lunging 🤗 It will be interesting. She seems quite shy so I can’t wait. This is all fascinating 👏👏👏
Thank you for sharing this with us, Tara! It is so informative, I love watching you train your horses. Diablo is a honey, so eager to please even though he has his own mind, too.
Wow what a progress, you train him so well, he's smart and also strong and full of temperament. His trot is beautiful 🐎😍👍🤗 You're so wright safety first 👍👏🏽
Tara, there is only one major problem here. Listen up! These videos are too short! 😂 Loving watching these beauties! As I said before, these two just won the lottery joining this family! Enjoy!
Awe, 1st lunge❤️❤️ Gosh, I miss those days... Diablo and you are doing a beautiful job. Groundwork is so important for foals to learn boundaries & manners
I think Diablo did really well for his first time on the lunge line. I loved seeing him trotting around the paddock looking happy. I can’t wait to see what he is like with some company. You’re doing a great job Tara and he’s only a baby. He’s living his best life at the moment. You did it!! You finally have your foals and living the dream. Well done. I’m so happy for you. Love Lesley x
Tara, this little chestnut colt is smart as a whip and onery as all get out! He doesn't miss a trick, and suddenly has become extremely confident in himself! He is a handful, and will continue to be, but ultimately may prove to be the best horse that you have ever had. Hang in there...
This is perfect timing for me.. I’ve purchased a foal which I’ll be picking up this late fall. I have trained a young horse before, but it was many years ago and my colt was exceptionally good natured and easy to train..
When you were shopping for a foal he was my favorite or your choices and now the more I watch Diablo the more I adore him. Dare I say.... is it possible he could grab ahold of my heart as much as Apollo and Farouk?! 🙊 He's just a little ball of energy and seems eager to please....seems very smart as well. I have a feeling he's going to grow to be really special! 🖤💜🧡😈🌸
@@christineroerty2534 I liked him too there seems to be a lot of us that are so glad he was picked he’s just beautiful he’s going to be a gorgeous ride lucky Tara 😎
Tara, aren't beginnings exciting ?! He's brand new to the big world, every experience ... with you. He's such a fast learner and he's already seeking your approval - Yay Baby Diablo! You two are going to be terrific together !
Loved that rolling! 😊 I have always heard that when a horse rolls all the way over, it indicates that he is an excellent horse! Don't know if there's any truth in that, but he does seem to be such an intelligent horse! He reminds me of my filly, Dixie...she just wanted to be close to me for scratches and snuggles! I was spending the night with my aunt and cousins when she (Dixie) was born, so she was 3 days old before I could see her...I spent all day with her. By the end of the day, she could be at the bottom of the pasture with her momma (Lady), and when I called her, she would leave her momma and come running to me...at just 3 days old! I miss her so much. I am so happy you put out these videos, it gives me so much joy to watch! 😊
Susan Hillier ..... I felt the same way when I found the channel! One of the first things I did was check out her video library. I was quickly into a routine of watching the latest daily video then a few more from her library. Enjoy! 😊😊😊
He did enjoy that roll in the sand.😄 It's good to watch the little ones being trained from the beginning. He seems to obey pretty well considering he's had no training - actually a good thing since you don't have to untrain him.😉 You are doing a good job with this little boy. I like his one crew sock by the way. 😗 And his new rope harness and lead even if it's not purple).💜
New viewer here again--is that what's called putting a horse through his paces--haha. Diablo certainly enjoyed his roll in the sand, I mean the lunge. He seems like a fast learner, although I must admit I've never seen a horse (foal) training session before. Really enjoying your channel--I have a lot to learn, along with Diablo! He is a beautiful boy!
Your very good with training your horses Tara .......you know what your doing ....and Diablo is a quick learner , he knows how to ‘stop’ nicely now ....when will you start giving him carrots as a reward ?.
He's doing so well ! You are so fit, you have 10 years on me and you have so much energy ! He's a lovely mover, I think he's going to be bigger than Bella, maybe bigger than you wanted, will just have to wait and see. Are you and Rens pleased with your purchases so far? I think you made the right decisions xxx
I love the fact that you always end a session right after he’s done something really well. Ending on such a positive note is what helps set in their mind how good feels to get rewarded for doing just what you’ve asked for.
He's a lively young guy , has a lot of attitude but is willing to give. He has so much potential, l enjoy seeing his progress. You all are wonderful with him. By the way, your place is gorgeous.
What a pleasure to see you training him, but with so much love and kindness! He's going to be an amazing horse once he learns all you'll teach him!! Hugs!
Good day, Tara! What a magnificent boy Diablo is! He is absolutely stunning to watch. I love hearing your confident and reassuring voice as you introduce him to your commands. He is very intelligent and eager to please you. He reminds me of my now two year old German Shepherd, in that he tries to push you to see how much he can get away with at first. You are so skilled and know you cannot give him an inch, lest he will take a mile. There are so many similarities between horse training and dog training, it is amazing! I so enjoy your videos and look forward to seeing what you are up to so many miles away! I loved the sound of the wind blowing and although chilly, I am certain that it was also invigorating for you both! All the sounds make the experience complete for me and I feel I was right there with you! Rens truly is a Prince! 😇🙏 I love the interaction between you two as well. It is so lovely to see two people share in something together and be respectful of each other as they provide for these very spiritual creatures! I was led to you for a reason, Tara and I truly thank God for putting you in my path at this time in my life. I am cheering you on every step of the way! Blessings to you and your Prince, Rens always!🐴🐎💕♥️🙏😇👍🐎🐎🐎
many thanks Betty for joining our little channel. I totally agree with you about training dogs and horses. I did obedience training with my German Shepard in my younger day to an advanced level. I teach my horses the hold in a similar way as I did my dog.🥰
@@Tara101 Oh, that is wonderful! I didn't know you had owned German Shepherds, too. You are indeed a wonderful trainer! Thanks for sharing that with me!🐕🐎♥️💕👍
He's a hoot and definitely a whippersnapper 😉😁 He is absolutely gorgeous ,!! Overall I think he did great, just figuring out the commands and how far he can go . Very pleasing to watch. !!! 🤗🥰❤
He's SO good. He's such a little baby but at the same time so smart, and I adore his lovely mane and all those long legs. And what a magnificent roll that was at the beginning!! Did he miss out on one at the end?! I wont tell! Beautiful to watch XXXX
Diablo’s raring to go. Very eager to learn & to please , well done Diablo.🥕🥕🥕🥕👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Diablo is enjoying the roll in the ménage sand. Your so patient Tara with Diablo & a very good teacher👩🏫 . Love 💓 it, such a delightful video can’t wait for tomorrow’s episode. Tara are you going to get a hot pink head collar for Bella. Your day is like our winters day here in Perth Western Australia Wet & windy 🌬 at the moment & cold.🤠
Hi Tara, I'm really going to enjoy this journey watching you with Diablo and Bella ! I've never had any involvement with foals or younger horse's so i can't wait to see their progression and the teaching methods you have for them both. Really enjoyed the video (thankyou for the footage Rens ) Diablo is gorgeous, his movements are fabulous !!! Looking forward to seeing what Bella has been up to ..... Love to you all 🐴🐴🐴🐴🐶💕💕
Excellent job, horse and woman. :-) Very enjoyable to watch -- informative too. I like your training style, it's very down-to-earth and motherly (I mean that in the best way!). I can see the horse likes and trusts you. I look forward to seeing more!
Omg when I read the title I read it as "Andalusian yelling on lunge line for the first time" and i was like what the heck and then then I read it again😂
I love watching the kid in him. I'm a teacher for primary children and it just amazes me how similar all children are no matter what the species is. I see a lot of the human kids I work with in him. You are doing such a great job. Firm and a leader but kind too. I love it. I am really looking forward to watching he and Bella grow and watching Farouk and Apollo continue to develop into the older gentlemen that they are. I just get so much enjoyment out of watching the "Boys" and the "Littles". Thank you so much for sharing them with us!
ealaibracket1 Hello! I’m a retired teacher. Early childhood education major. Taught Kindergarten through 3rd grade, but the majority of years, first grade. Totally agree with your observations!!! Had similar thoughts when I showed dogs back in the 1980s.👍👍👍💕💕💕
Little Diablo did really well, he managed to go round a couple of times, but he really doesn’t get Social distancing😂 Loved the way he rolled on the sand in pure joy of living. LOL when you said you are crowding me, I understand your concern he is a powerful horse and he doesn’t mean you harm but needs to know his boundaries to keep you both safe. He likes being close to you🥰
I've really enjoyed, Foruk's, training, journey, so now, I'm tuning in, to Diablo's. No doubt, with Tara's, paiteints, and, methods, the journey, will be, a wonderful, learning experience. I'm looking forward, to getting, back into, riding, and choosing, the breed, that will work, best, for me. I really, appreciate, seeing, a Freisan, Arabian, and now, an Andulusion, go through, their, paces. Fabulous!!
One week and he is really getting it! Love your manner, firm but also loving and kind. A great balance. He really likes to roll in the menage like a small child in a sand box.
Absolutely. Watching you and what you do is inspiring and demonstrates just how challenging and physically demanding working with horses truly is. You are incredible and a true inspiration.
Wow can’t believe that’s first time! Thank you for sharing something so lovely. I got a 3 yr old recently. However he is showing herding behaviour with me and rearng at me :( so I’m having a low confidence afternoon after that. Thank you for a lovely upbeat video :) I can understand why you did this so early and about the getting him to not come towards you! You are so so lovely with him thank you x
Tomorrows another day, and training has lots of highs and some lows. Two steps forward and one step back. Don't dwell on it, it doesn't matter. Act as if it didn't happen the next time you train.😊
Hi Tara loved watching the video Thank you for putting the video on here Looking forward to watching more Hope everyone is well and OK From Sue with love xxx
He is such a people pleaser he tries so hard to do well what a champ. My horse favours one side as well and it's hard to get him going well, he is a of the track thoroughbred and raced most of his life but slow and steady and lots of patience we will get good at it all . We do trails like you and loving it. Thanks for sharing Diablo,s journey love watching you
Tara, if Diablo had been with you from birth, at what age would you have started this lunge training? Or is 1 year old the perfect time? Or maybe it varies from horse to horse. I love how spunky he is. I think he learns quickly. Improvements from first to last lunge showing already. 🤗
You don't want to do much lunge work when they are young as it can strain the legs. A little 5 minute session like this is perfect. I had a 5 month old who we noticed was developing poor body carriage - head up, back hollow, not pushing from the hind legs. We actually put him in a biting rig with loose side reins attached to his halter as a form of physical therapy. Two short walk trot sessions and he started moving correctly. His muscles developed properly after that.
Well done! He's going to be a fast learner. I'm sure he'll test the boundaries a bit, like all kids do But he's a pleaser. I love how you're quick to correct and quick to praise. Timing is everything. You give clear boundaries. ❤❤❤
Gosh Tara, there have been some passionate responses here. Lots of calls for him to be in a herd which, of course he has - if anyone bothered to check 🙄 I hope you are okay. Keep on doing what you are doing. I have followed since you had Farouk and he is making a lovely horse and I have no doubt that you will do the same with Diablo and Bella. 👊 So, back to the video, it was like Diablo's first day at school but I was mostly impressed by how quickly he has clearly got over his little operation! 🤣
Frisky boy! Such young exuberance is great to see. I found this very helpful to see what you are doing with him because my young mare also tends to rear a little and toss her head. I look forward to see his progress and trying some of your techniques!
Yes he is a little pushy, but seems to be catching on quickly. I did notice, like you said, that he likes to reach out with his front legs. It's so much fun watching him learn things for the first time. I think this is going to be an amazing journey to watch you training both Diablo and Bella.😍🐴
Hi- he did good! Lots of energy, His mane looks soft. You mentioned Bella’s mane was coarse. The PREs I met in Spain had very coarse manes. I was surprised by it since expected it to softer. What is bella doing these days?
Well done Tara he’s doing well trying hard and he Is listening awww Bless him he gets a little disrupted with So many new things to see he’s young So much to see in his new surroundings . Wow he’s a beauty so handsome . Well done Tara 🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗Dee
Well that got him fizzy lol he did good for first time he definitely needs ground manners, personally I do it after he's been out not fresh out the stable for a while, but you do exactly how I do it as long as feet are moving and you can tell him so he learns the words good job he looks stunning
Diablo is a delightful yearling, although seems quite a bit older. He’s a really clever young man & seems to be very quick on the uptake! To say he’s only been with you for a week, he very settled & congratulations to you, your technique is firm but fair & works well with him. I’m thoroughly enjoying your videos. Takes me back to the days when I was in Horse Racing & training yearlings, such fun. Keep up the good work!
Well after that performance and the obvious improvement I think this young chap is going to be a quick learner. Yes there'll be hiccups along the way but what a brill start. I'm sure you're very pleased with that Tara.🌞🙌
Love to see horses roll around , he's very excitable and confident and pushy like a teenager but he's a quick learner, he has a sweet soul but once horses get excitable or try to release pressure they can kick whether in play or not the hard part is preempting it and it only comes with many years of experience like yourself have than us green folk it's great how you explain to us novices of what is happening and what should be expected from the horse. !🐎💛
