Gloria Vanderbilt, iconic fashion designer, dies at age 95. Vanderbilt's son, CNN's Anderson Cooper, pays tribute to his mother's life. #Vanderbilt #AndersonCooper #CNN #News
Anderson cooper put this together less than 12 hours after the passing of his mom. He was able to remain professional all most to the end. She did a remarkable job with him.
A nice sentiment; but networks prepare obits years in advance, and certainly when they get wind that somebody is dying. This was made weeks, if not months ago.
Most of it was pulled from the documentary but he did say that she recently was diagnosed with cancer and there is also the footage of the in the hospital. Either way this was very heart felt. I remember my Gloria Vanderbilt Jean's I had to lay down on the bed to zip them up🤭😏😁
“She spent a lot of time alone in her head during her life, but when the end came she was not alone. She was surrounded by beauty, by family, and by friends.” As someone who has suffered a lot of traumas in my life...I honestly think this is one of the most beautiful sentences I have ever heard. May we all be so lucky❤️
I love Anderson Cooper’s giggle... it makes my heart happy to know that this is the part of his mother he will always carry with him... may his mother rest in love always..
@milkthistle8161 If, standing in the bathroom mirror practicing a clever comeback, was a comment - (and, it still failed to be clever)... try again in another three years....
Anderson Cooper is a Hypocrite and a Vanderbilt Trust Fund Baby who would never think to return $$$, Give Reparations and Privilege he received from his Slave owning Descendents that he benefited from. Cornelius Vanderbilt and the Family were Slave owners and elites who made a fortune on the backs of Slaves & Poor Freed people. So stop with the gushing over this Hipocrite. And he should stop with the fake concern for Black people on his show.
Anyone who has held their mom's hand when they pass knows the pain, love, heartbreak, relief, anguish. I know it all to well. Thank you to Anderson Cooper for sharing your Mom with the world, you didn't have too but you did.
@Kio Revana Gloria Vanderbilt had an extraordinary, and sometimes sad, life and was known throughout the world, she deserves to be remembered by the world and most importantly by her son. The FACT you are unsympathetic tells more about you than anything else. If you don't like CNN, fine don't watch or even comment but at the very least allow the rest of us to mourn and honor a lady that started life out in drama and ended her life with dignity. In other words STFU STFD.
Hearing them giggle together in unison brought me to tears. Loved seeing the story of a woman who was as honest as most of us hope to be, and lived life on her own terms.

@Dearly Diane You are really mean to say something like that at this moment. Do the right thing at the right time, post your criticism somewhere some other time for God sake.
@Dearly Diane Good for you Dearly Diane! Watching this video is a step in the right direction. You can learn a lot about self-esteem from this awesome lady.
Blue Victory it is so spot on. You get thru it but you never get over it. The connection you have with your own mom is the invisible umbilical cord that not a single Doctor can cut. May she Rest In Peace and praying for Anderson and his family to find the peace & love of God.
@South London Metal Detector You're a disgusting little magat. Who gives you the right to call her that. If it was a man, he would be a stud, but bc she's a woman, she's some slut? Or is it because it's Andersons mother? You're vile no matter your reasons. Have some respect for the dead, or fall dead and see who gives a fuck abt yours. NOBODY IMPORTANT, THAT'S FOR SURE🙄😂😂😂
@@Boadicea6 Pay no attention to South London Metal Detector with 9 subscribers. Miserable, cruel, insensitive, lonely,..................a pitiful and pathetic excuse for a human being, South London Metal Detector with 9 subscribers does not deserve your scorn. He deserves nothing. Move on with your life Monique, as will AC now that his mom is no more, for AC and Gloria will have more impact on this world than the pitiful and pathetic excuse for a human being that is 'South London Metal Detector .
These are reasons why I spend time with my mom every weekend at 56 years old. We just never know when it will be their time to go, good bye is never easy, but the memories make the pain more bearable if you had good memories.
Alot of salty ass people on here just remember karmas a bitch and what goes around comes around instead of taking the high road you sad souls are pondering on something you cannot control you dont like cnn stop watching it you guys are to obsessed with someone you hate
What a wonderful tribute to your mother, Anderson. I love when you say “she trusted too easily and completely” and “she always believed the best was yet to come.” That’s a beautiful way to be remembered. May you find peace in your memories of your mother and thank you for sharing them with us.
Just listening to Anderson talking about his mom I could feel the LOVE they both had for each other.. And the giggling part oh my LORD brought tears to my eyes 😥
Wow where is the civility. Where is our moral fiber. At this time, in this format.....Why couldn't you recognize the composure of Anderson during trying time? Anderson's Mother passed! You who set yourselves as judge, jury & sentencer Woe to you. Back to regular programming. Nice tribute. My Condolences Anderson.
I watched it till the end and I cried. Thank you Anderson for sharing this story. I saw my mum last on Christmas in 2013, she died a two days later. On Christmas she was funny, gave paintings she made to her grandchildren, we sat next to each other while we ate and talked. In the evening I drove her to her home and waved her good bye. Thats the last memory of her and I treasure it to this day.
I cried listening to Anderson Cooper, as his voice stated to choke up at the end, you could tell that he was crying as he talked about his beloved mother. May she sleep peacefully now.
I met her in the 80s when she was promoting her Gloria Vanderbilt jeans at Macy's New York Herald Square . I remember it like yesterday when she looks straight into my eyes while she autograph a postcard with her picture for me .
What a beautiful tribute. You could tell how proud he was of her and how much he loved her. She must have been so proud of him too. What an absolute gentleman
I'm so glad you got to have your mother in your life for so long, and that you and she shared your relationship and documented the palpable love the pair of you shared for the world. Thank you for this statement about your love, respect and admiration for this remarkable woman. You and all of your family will continue to be her light in the world.
@@deborahnicole The way he spoke about it here....he never knew she had that giggly laugh, until just before she died....and their both giggly together....
Anderson so many people are grieving along with you. Bless you , and your buddy Andy C. Life sometimes gives us lemons, and all you can do is try to keep going.😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
Ten months later, please accept respects from a stranger. You and your husband are still important, even to people who will never get to meet either of you.
In love with life, in general ! not always meant to be with another human being. That " love" thing is growing pains, in general but loving nature and the occupants of the planet is certainly positive .
What a beautiful tribute he did for his mother. It is written like a poem and I feel the love that he had for her. Anderson is so caring. I will never forget his reports through Katrina. He brought dignity to the city and people. I know that his mom was proud of him.
Anderson Cooper would love a quote from one of my favorite books of all time called illusions by Richard Bach. The quote is, do not be dismayed at goodbyes for a goodbye is necessary before meeting again. And meeting again is absolutely certain, for those who are friends.
There’s nothing like a mother’s love. Thank you for sharing her with us. What a beautiful tribute. My momma died in 2005, and my daddy more recently in 2018. The pain and separation are so hard, and I miss them every day. But oh what a blessing to have the love of our parents. You are in my thoughts, Anderson.
I watched it last night and thought we all go through lose and tragedy and how we are all so connected with such lose. She was a very beautiful person and Anderson is a survivor and a has a wonderful legacy of his family.
Thanks for being a fan!! I just wanna appreciate you in particular for being a fan and you should keep supporting me it brings me so much joy that I'm able to put smiles on your faces and hearts.😊
I still listen to my voicemail with my father's voice. He thought he hung up but was laughing. My favorite. I miss his laugh and his calls. He's been gone for 3 months now. I treasure the memories.
@@virgo7956 💜 I'M SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. JUST REMEMBER, YOU'RE BLESSED TO HAVE THE MEMORIES & TO HEAR YOUR DAD'S VOICE ON YOUR RECORDING. STAY BLESSED & TAKE CARE. HUGS 🤗😇🙏💜💜💜
So hard when we lose our mother, especially a mom that is loving, hardworking, dedicated and as awesome as yours, she reminds me so much of mine whom I lost in October 8th, 2016. Though they are not physically with us, they will live forever in our mind but most of all in our hearts. RIP.
Yes, that part made me tear up. I recently realized that my uncle has the same chuckle as my grandma who passed away at 97 a little over two years ago. It was strange because he was laughing at something one day and immediately i thought to myself, “that’s Grandma.” It resonated deeply.
This is the loveliest tribute I've ever seen...she truly was an extraordinary individual. The world needs more people like her, willing to truly live life on her own terms. In her memory, I will read more books, make more art, treasure this time.
What a beautiful and heartfelt message to the memory of his amazing mother. I feel an unexplained- affinity towards this man, with his witty and down-to-earth style that makes him unique and utterly fascinating. It would be so rewarding to have coffee with him and to hear his stories... He is inspiring and uplifting and I wish him all the best !
She had such a beautiful spirit and wasn’t afraid of a broken heart and she lived her life to the fullest. Great tribute to a wonderful mother and RIP beautiful lady. Our condolences to Anderson Cooper and family.
I love how he interviewed her. He could laugh with her....and at her...in a way only a child could laugh at their own parent. Any other interviewer would never have chuckled at her marrying a possible murderer😂. Very sweet.
Luke Skywalker Very scary...lets make sure we tell our loved ones what’s up. Before we call out little miss Vanderbilt as a pile of lying blue blooded trash ..... FUCK YOUR SOUL YOU SCUMBAG ....ANDERSON
The world is truly at a great loss of beauty, creativity, talent and intelligence and kindness. We need more people like Gloria Vanderbilt in our world. Truly saddened by her loss. Rip Ms Vanderbilt.
Dear Anderson, putting politics aside, my sincere condolences for your loss. May her memory, and the good times lived, warm your soul in this moment of loss. She was talented, beautiful and lived life her way. RIP Ms.Gloria Vanderbilt.
Oh Anderson, Im so sorry for the loss of your beautiful, elegant and special mother. I have always admired her. May her soul rest in peace and may you find strength knowing she was loved by many as ARE you !
What a breathtaking obituary - it had me in tears!! Bless them all - they give hope to the rest of us (and NO, it's not a matter of money, not at all).

As a merchant family not only do the Orange-Nassau's have shares in Royal Dutch Shell but also in Royal Philips Electronics, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, and Holland America Line cruise ships. The reason these companies use the term royal is because they are primarily owned by the royal family of the Netherlands. Prince Friso's widow Princess Mabel of Orange-Nassau worked as a director for George Soros' Open Society Institute. The name Orange comes from the Celtic principality of Orange in France. The Dutch Royal family are Protestants. The Loyal Orange Institute is an Irish (Celtic) Masonic order in Ireland and was created in 1798 to honor the Dutch born Protestant King William of Orange. King Willem-Alexander is the real head of the Loyal Orange Order today. The Loyal Orange Order uses LOL as an acronym for Loyal Orange Lodge. The commonly used acronym for "Laughing out loud" is believed to be an Illuminati creation with the real meaning of "Lucifer's our Lord." Lucifer is a Latin term created as an epithet for Vesper. Vesper refers to Venus during the evening. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands is a Dame of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta in Rome and her deceased husband Prince Claus Amsberg was a member of the Nazi Wehrmacht defense force. Prince Bernhard of Lippe-Biesterfeld was the father of Queen Beatrix and a member of the Nazi Party and SS cavalry division. Sebastiaan Tromp was a Dutch Jesuit priest with close ties to the Vatican. The Italian-Dutch Prince Jamie of Bourbon-Parma is the nephew of Beatrix and he is Knight of Malta and also the Dutch ambassador to the Holy See. Prince Jamie is of the House of Bourbon-Parma which is a continuation of the Farnese family which established the Jesuits and this bloodline still has a portion of authority over the Jesuit Order which have deeply infiltrated the United States Department of Defense and US intelligence agencies headquartered at the Pentagon. King Willem-Alexander is an extremely oppressive tyrant.
God Bless Gloria Vanderbilt and her son Anderson Cooper . She would be a very very happy and proud Grandma. Anderson's book is an awesome read. From a very proud Canadian. 🇨🇦🌈🦋🌹🙏🙏🙏
The special they made together made me feel as they were my old friends. I love them both. Anderson has so much of his mother her artistry her humor. Her many talents and love she gave. Irreplaceable.
Breaks my heart to hear him choke up toward the end of his beautiful tribute to his dear mother. The HBO documentary (“Nothing Left Unsaid”) and their book (“The Rainbow Comes and Goes”) are truly fantastic - her story is wild. In her old age, she so closely resembles my own mother (the video of her in the hospital bed especially), which I think adds to my sadness upon hearing the news of her passing. So nice to know AC has a son now, upon and with whom he can shower his love and share her stories.
@Dearly Diane Good for you Dearly Diane! Watching this video is a step in the right direction. You can learn a lot about self-esteem from this awesome lady.
Every last one of you are bitter as hell. Instead of bashing someone that has passed away. Go cleanse your soul to make you a better person to fix all the negativity you see wrong with yourselves and help others.
Oooooh, Anderson, how ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS❣ I hope you'll rewatch this on Sunday for Mother's Day! It's truly precious!! Blessings, Peace and Health to you!!💗
