This is a review about an Andis AGC2 speed. I love this clipper. All parts available and is a professional grade clipper, at a great price.
Hi, my name is Nick George with Clouds Diamond Sharpening. I'm a professional technician who has been working on hair cutting tools and equipment for the last 20 years. I specialize in hair clipper blade sharpening, scissor/shear sharpening, hair clipper repair and much more! My clipper blade sharpening process is unique as I use a special grinding wheel with a specific geometrical pattern that was designed by my Grandfather which gives me the ability to be able to sharpen any hair clipper blade using actual diamond (1500 grit), which provides a smoother, polished finish. I can repair any hair clipper on the market as long as parts are made available through the manufacturer. I also sharpen a variety of different types of scissors/shears (beveled, convex, semi-convex, chunkers, thinning, fabric, surgical, pinking, etc.)

I had these clippers recommended and just bought a pair to use to body clip my horse a couple times per year. When I decided to do this I didn’t realize there was so much to know! Earlier today I ordered a couple of blades that are supposed to fit this clippers. Both are Andis , one is 3/4” HT/19mm and the other is 1 1/2 4mm. They have different numbers but I surmised the first will leave a 3/4 inch coat and the other a 1/2 inch coat? Also, if I send the blades to you cleaned will you sharpen them? I plan to bath and use a grooming oil on the horse but I suspect blades will need to be sharpened more frequently than if used the same amount of time on a dog or human. Good videos I watched many. And I promise to oil every five minutes!!!!

Thanks for watching. First, for a 1/2 inch coat you'll need an Andis #3 3/4 blade. I know it sounds confusing, but when looking for blades, pay attention to the inches or mm. The numbering system of the blades (#10, #30, #7, etc) always represents the same measurements, but the number on the face of the blade itself doesn't represent how much hair will be left when clipping. For a 3/4 coat, the HT 3/4 is the correct blade. I would return the 1 1/2 blade if you can. It will leave .15 of an inch of hair. As for sharpening, yes we offer mail in sharpening services across the entire US. The best thing you can do for your blades and clipper is to keep the blades lubricated. The clipper you purchased was a great option for the use case, is well built and can be serviced and repaired as needed. They're extremely low maintenance clippers, and will perform at their best as long as the blades are lubricated. Forgot to mention, anything you do to clean the hair prior to clipping will help the edge hold up as well as proper lubrication.
