Excellent video dude. It's an interesting comparison between two trimmers with the potential to be excellent machines. I found the Bevels runtime to be exceptional, the new T blade to be vastly better than its predecessor and its ability to stay cooler through extended use a real benefit. The T Outliner stand, I agree was a welcome addition and how much quieter it was whilst running compared to the Bevel, was definitely more comfortable around the customers ear! The problem I had with the T Outliner was how quickly the blade temperature rose when in use, I felt it didn't take long for the blade to become uncomfortable. My main issue with a lot of larger companies is that they never want to curb sales of other machines in their portfolio, almost like if they made one ultimate machine, consumers would stop buy the rest. They always seem to leave a few details out, just enough to frustrate you. The Wahl Retro T-Cut was a prime example of this, a great trimmer for the price with cut fantastically well, but no battery indicator, non lithium ion battery and couldn't be used on the cord, frustrating! Easy things to add but they chose not to. Bevel, and what I like about Babyliss at the moment, is that they seem to be going all in on one item, they make a 1.0, listen to feedback and improve the 2.0. I am more a fan of this method and hope Bevel takes on board your suggestions about the blade attachment and uses this to improve future versions. Again, ace video buddy, cheers
Appreciate it as always That's a great point and perspective you provided. The innovation is very prevalent in companies like bevel, babyliss, and even JRL i see lots of new things trying to improve the industry. While big companies seem to have gotten comfortable and don't want to reduce the value of their other machines. I see that same thing in cameras like canon. Thanks for that! Really got me thinking deeper about it!
@@KevvThaw Sony is the only camera brand pushing the envelope right now. Everyone else is playing catch up (I see you with those shallow depth of field shots btw A+).
you are one of the most intellectual people I've ever watched. It shows in the way you analyze and explain not just your techniques, but also your tools. Plus...how you edit your videos, your choice of music, and even how you designed that old mustard and burgundy colored home barbershop of yours. You are a young Picasso in a craft trade that deserves more critical and revolutionary thinkers like you. Having said that...you don't deserve to be attacked regarding your respiratory issue. Some even have the audacity to call you ignorant. Please keep doing what you're doing...producing quality content and sharing your intellectual prowess over your craft....without minding shallow comments about your health condition.
as a barber of 30 yrs exp, i went from the old school corded andis t blade, like my father & his uncle (also barbers) all used, to the cordless andis t blade & i haveta say, i love it! & while it may be a draw back for some, i love the old school retro looks! (but consider the source, this is coming from a guy that will tell u they quit makin "real cars" in 1972 haha) ...i may buy a second one just to run the gtx (deep tooth) blade... thanx for the review, very well done my man, god bless
great video. I'm stuck between the Babyliss trimmer and Bevel now... But on a health tip I can hear you breathing bro. I say get into some cardio, (jogging or push ups) if you haven't yet. As a guy that suffered with asthma back when I was younger I made sure to kept working out during and after college. Now I have and still haven't had breathing problems. Health is wealth; the barber RU-vid universe needs you, stay healthy my guy.
I rock both trimmers I only use the bevel as my final liner for sharp lines, I kept my cordless andis blade stock for kids/ initial lines because I have a blackout thats modified and that system works great bevels are really some hitters once you adjust the T blade, I love them and I keep them in the bag after every cut.
I loved your pro's & cons review,im actually waiting on the bevel trimmer for personal use,My wife purchased the limited edition one on Amazon for an anniversary gift so hopefully I won't experience your issues due to lack of use.Thx again for a GREAT REVIEW!!
I’m super late on this video but I’m so glad I watched it!!! I was considering picking up the bevel trimmer but after seeing this it’s a hard pass for me. At that price it should not have those issues. I think I’ll stick to my skeleton gold fx and my t outliner!! Thanks for the video bud!! Barber love from Jeff’s Barber Shop in Michigan!!☘️💈☘️💈
Yo ! That shop is fire ! What city is it that wall showing ? I’m moving into a warehouse space , n will design a two stall barber area ,, this is inspo ,, Also I’m at target looking at this bevel ,, like $200🤨.. thanks for the info ..
love the video. at first i thought you were about to tell me that the bevel is better and i got upset, 'cause i've been spending so much time with my andis trying to get it to cut the best, but now i feel better! now that(i assume) you've spent more time with the andis, do you still think it beats the bevel?
I’m not a barber I want a wireless trimmer for the house. How easy was to no gap the andis?? And the bevel is on sale right now 210 with the extra blade.
Hey bro I just wanted to say I got into Mac Miller thanks to you. You once posted a video and showed a haircut and in the background was dunno by Mac Miller and yea I was like damn this song is dope so I just got more into him
i kept hearing you say that the Bevel needed a stand but why would it need a stand when it can stand if you can stand it up by itself? Especially when it runs for 4 hours without a recharge?
ChuckDaArsonist1 it can stand, temporarily. The base is small which makes it vulnerable to getting knowcked over. Wouldn’t be an issue if it had its own charging base.
#Teamkevv. I'm in. I used the andis T outliner and the whal retro T outliner and for me the retro T outliner hit better then the andis T outliner. So I invested in a whal Detailer which hit as well if not better. 💈💈💈
Miguel Torres oh really? I’m really not to fond of that Wahl retro T cut. Idk what it is. And it not having a light to show that it’s charging is really a turn off.
FYI- cordless Wahl Detailer has a removable blade that pops off like the Bevel. Also has an adjustment lever that lets you adjust the blade without even taking it off. Highly underrated trimmer, IMO. That being said, Slimline Pro is the best cordless trimmer for the money. Cordless T Outliner is better overall, but not twice as good to justify the price increase.
You can remove the blade but part of the clipper detached as well. With the bevel and the super liner, just the blade is removed. And I’ve had two of the cordless Wahl detainers, and some friends who’ve gotten them, I’ve never seen the adjustment feature actually work for anyone. Slimline pro is very dope edger, it just doesn’t last very long, and has trouble going through thick hair. I’ve gone through 3 in a year. I think overall you end up paying similar prices if used often.
You're right, the additional part of the cordless Detailer that comes off is the part that's attached to the blade that allows adjustment. Strange that you've never seen the adjustment work... maybe you're looking for a bigger movement similar to an adjustable clipper. The blade only moves 1mm or so to bring the blade from zero to slightly off zero gapped. Mine has always worked perfectly and is my go-to trimmer when lining up my son since his skin is sensitive and will react if I lined him up with the same sharpness as I use on myself. I've never had a problem with either of my Slimlines (Li or non), but have heard Bossio and others complain about quality issues from daily use. Have you reached out directly to Bevel about the quality issues you've had with your trimmer?
Bought the bevel trimmer right when it first came out almost 4 years ago. Was so disappointed with its performance and price that it just sits in the drawer collecting dust.
Right. While not turning back on innovation. I do wish Andis pushed the envelope a little more. We keep seeing the same engineering all these years. Tried and true like you said though.
Bruh who care how long something been around if something better comes along 10 years in or not you gotta give it its credit. If it’s better it’s better.
Yo kev back at it again Yo I just wanna thankyou for inspiring me bro. I’m starters a YT channel called 801_barber. Hopefully I can as successful as you one day.
