I just realized the Band players for the funeral playing unharmoniously at the start when they are practicing then playing together is a analogy for the independent rebel cells acting on their own before they form the rebellion

During Maarva's speech you see Luthen finally see all his efforts beginning to come to fruition, and that simple expression of his lips tightening is him vindicated

This show is what I’ve always wanted from Star Wars. Something more adult, something more serious, something more well thought out. It’s blown by my expectations. I salute you Mr. Gilroy 🫡🙌

When he said kill me or take me in, he meant take me into your rebellion. As in, Cassian is all in.

“I’m counting on you” “You always say that” “And you always come through” I’m not crying you are…

You misinterpreted the ending: There is no cliffhanger; Cassian says "Kill me or Take me in" meaning take me into the Rebellion. Luthen smiles saying "You're in". Perfect ending.

Brasso starting the riot by clocking imperials with Maarva's brick was just the best. His character is such an underrated part of the show. That actor is damn good. I hope we see more of him next season and in other things.

LITTLE AWESOME DETAIL: when Cassian avoid getting catch on the tower, he actually did what Luthen told him when they first met.... "Rule number one: Build your exit on your way in". Just awesome. What a show.... Respect to the all the actors even the secondary ones, still made us so emotional during this season.

I'm hoping for Bail Organa, mainly because I want to see Jimmy Smitts performing dialogue from this writer's room.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the dialog is what sets this show apart from (and in my opinion above) all other Star Wars media.

Fantastic! Maarva lit a fuse right in front of Luthen while he was trying to clean up his "loose end". For once, he wasn't in control and pulling all the strings, and it was fascinating watching his reaction.

I pretty much cried all the way through the second half of this episode. It was so emotionally draining. And what’s with all of these epic speeches?! I was ready to storm the beaches by the time Maarva was done. And can I just say that the people of Ferrex obviously love B2 as much as the rest of us do, since his abuse was the spark that ultimately kicked it all off. I loved every second and everything about this show. Brilliant job, Tony Gilroy. Brilliant.

This show did not just elevate Rogue One and Episode IV: ANH, it elevated the whole Star Wars lore and made it even better. I’m already on a binge-watch.

It took me a minute, I also thought "is he depressed? Wants to die?" ... But I think that's not it... He is ready for the rebellion and ready to die for it. He is ready to be a rebel

I think Vel just isn't as hate filled as Cinta is, I don't think she even wants to kill Cassian, so seeing Cinta that focused bothers her. And Cassian at the end was "yea kill me if that's what you see, a loose end. Or bring me in, make me a part of this because i'm all in." This show is amazing, the manifesto is just full of truths. "Authority is brittle, oppression is the mask of fear"

They made stormtroopers scary and proficient again.

Only one word can be used to describe this show, MASTERPIECE! I can’t remember the last time a show made me hold my breath from anticipation this many times throughout a season. And I’m completely with Cassian, if my mother gave that speech with that much heart at her funeral I would fight the Empire to my dying breath! If this show isn’t nominated in damn near every category at the next Emmy’s of BAFTA’s then no one deserves to be nominated.

The Death Star scene at the end is the opening sequence that kept evolving at the beginning of every episode.

The thing that is going to stick with me the most about season 1 of Andor is the writing. It had some of the best character interactions and monologues out of any show or movie I've ever seen. Not once during this show did I wish for a big space battle or light sabre fight. A simple conversation between two characters was more gripping than any action sequence.

What a divine show. The show took Star Wars to the next level.

Maarva’s march and funeral speech is one of the greatest scenes in all of Star Wars. This is where the rebellion unifies

I feel like we have to repeat this all the time - We watch the show with subtitles, so we know he says "...or take me in." You're watching a cut down . Just because it's not in the edit doesn't mean we didn't see it. Yeah, obviously Cassian lives. As Agustin said - "clearly" - It's a cliffhanger ending of sorts because it's left ambiguous as to what happens with characters like B2, Bixx and Brasso, what the events of Ferrix mean for the Empire, particularly Dedra and Syril, what taking Cassian into the Rebellion means for the overall story. Just because we know that Rogue One happens doesn't mean the road to getting there doesn't have it's own hurdles, otherwise it would be boring storytelling to tell a very linear narrative without consequence. "Take me in" doesn't only have to mean "to your Rebellion." It could also means, "to the Empire" and let them have their way with me if you think I'm a liability to your plans. That's a risky proposition because the Empire could then find out more about the formation of the Rebellion, so Luthen could've then decided - Yes, I'll take you in (to my team). We're exploring all the possible narrative options the dialogue is giving us and not just - "well, he's in Rogue One so he must mean Luthen's team and that's the only option ever". And yes, there is an end credit scene. Keep watching until the end.

25:26 did you guys miss the "or take me in" part? Cassian is offering himself to the rebellion and Luthen realizes he actually cares about the cause. It's not really a cliffhanger. Pretty obvious Luthen accepted him.

The fact that all the opening credit music was compiled into Maarva's stone March was a cool detail

This show has everything I've been missing in Star Wars TV shows. My heart races and I hold my breath in equal parts dread and eager anticipation. So many subtle things that come out upon repeated viewings. The crowd in the front of the funeral procession are wearing orange work outfits. My first thought was how they looked like xwing pilots in orange! Only the first rebellion dude's were huge men all brute strength and rage filled. No blasters but lethal in mass. It was an amazing unforgettable scene.

the cruel irony, that Andor created the weapon that lead to his death, yet his sacrifice awoke the destiny of the hero that would forever destroy it

It's funny that there was that one quick scene with Brasso swinging a droid arm to whack imperials with. The Spanish word for 'arm' is 'brazo'.

Give everyone in this show a god damn emmy. Cast, crew, vfx, catering .etc. What a special show. Cant wait for s2. Thank you guys for giving us gr8 rxns. Made the rewatches so much fun.

Interesting observation; Turns out Mon Mothma's desperate solution she tearfully tells Vel last episode is to not only match-up her daughter to a thug's son, but to also blame the banking red-flag on her husband's _*gambling*._ Yowch. Gambling is paralleled with Andor when he tells the escape pilot, "All in." And for Luthen, he wins the jackpot by witnessing Marvaa's open incitement to rebellion and Andor's commitment to the cause.

I guess I don't feel that was a cliffhanger ending at all. Seemed to wrap things up very nicely. And of course Cassian knew that Luthen would not stop going after him, and would not believe he was willing to join the cause unless he offered up his life as an alternative. You could see that Luthen was affected by Marva's speech, so he was already softened to the idea that this was the woman who raised this man, and passed along her ideas to him, so I think Luthen already sort of felt that maybe killing Andor wasn't the best option.

Tony Gilroy already confirmed that there will be a one year time jump. I love how he doesn't make it a big secret or whatever, he is so confident in that show! He doesn't need to be secretive about the silliest stuff, he doesn't need to put cameos in the show or trailer for people to watch and stay tuned, he and his team simply created an amazing show and that's it. Now that they made that first season without any shortcuts, they earned the right to bring in cameos, if they wanted to. That's a thing Mandalorian did pretty good as well, they wrote a standalone story, made it strong enough to stand on its own feet and when that worked, they brought in cameos in season 2, which worked great since we already had establish our main characters. I'm so happy about this show man!

What a beautiful journey for this character! Cassian starts the show performing what is seen as an act of rebellion while trying to find his sister and reclaim some semblance of a normal life. Luthen’s first meeting with Cassian involves essentially begging him to, “fight those bastards for real,” but Cassian only agrees to help for the money and still wants to cash out after one job and make a life for him and Marva. And by the end, after Marva’s last words echoed Luthen’s plea that he fight those bastards, Cassian finally comes to the same place where Luthen is and accepts the fight without promise of reward or respite.

Cassian helped build the weapon that will end up killing him, but ultimately he'll die trying to take them down rather than dying giving them what they want.

i have never screamed so much. it was so palpable! Maarva's speech sent me! Bix sent me. and i HONESTLY sat there hoping that that young man got to live peacefully to a ripe old age because he [and the rest of them] have been through enough.

Man I loved this show. I gotta say, I want the dude who played Brasso to play Ben Grimm in the MCU!

I'd like to point out that Gilroy and crew made a *Marching Band* the single most threatening expression of rebellion in Star Wars in the last 20 years at least.

Cassian's evolution as a leader Ep. 3 Needed to be saved by Luthien Ep. 4-6 Paid attention to the small details and fixed potential problem, i.e. who should be on the right and left when marching. Ep. 8-10 KIno made the speech, but only because the other prisoners already saw him as someone with authority, but Cassian was giving orders in his workgroup early on and made the escape plan. Ep. 12 Giving orders to his friends in a strong, positive manner. He stopped and praised B2 for being a stalwart friend.

The music of the Funeral March is the evolving score for each episode of Andor's opening titles!

Loved the marching band music score and everything from the first second of episode 1 right thru to the last second of episode 12. BRAVO! Gilroy Bros, the Cast, ILM, and all the magic film technicians that made this the best dam television ever!

One of my favorite little things in this is the "try" from Nemik's manifesto. It's the opposite of the advice Yoda gives Luke and it's what all the rebels have to choose. They have to choose to try. This show was perfect for me. Wildly excited for season 2.

This show is a masterpiece from a filmmaking perspective, it's just an added bonus for me that it's set in the Star Wars universe.

Glad they used Marvas brick for the actual fight. Easy to predict but symbolic none the less. Honestly hope Cassian doesn't find them in S2

I love that even without Wilmon's bomb, or Maarva's speech, just the fact that the people of Ferrix said "Fuck you!" to the Empire by maintaining their tradition, and not rescheduling for them is a great act of rebellion. Every action like that, however small, moves the needle.

It's not that Cassian is depressed. He's proving his commitment in a way that will be understood. He's all in or nothing

that crew that escaped, the kid, Bix, Brasso and the rest would make a great rebel cell/strike force...

This finale was so good. I love the writing so much, the parrallels to other arcs in the show is one of my fav touches. Deedra is a mirror to Syril, thier overconfidence and lack of experience in combat situations cost them and thus Syril has his hero moment cuz he learned and grew from his failure and hes gonna be there for Deedra, i imagine she's gonna be much more dangerous in s2. Cassian gives himself entirely to the rebelion and puts himself in a vulnerable position like Luthen did in the third episode, he could easily have been killed but he clearly seems to be all aboard the rebellion now. I love how we dont see much of it but we see enough to know how Clem and Maarva shaped Cassian and the love they had for him. Maarva's speech was brilliant, i was hyped as hell. this show is just so good.

Both speeches in this episode gave me so many goosebumps, Maarva's had me tearing up too. Loved this show easily one of my favorites from 2022, seeing your reactions and hearing your thoughts each week made it even more enjoyable too. Thanks guys, here's to s2!

Seeing Luthen predator smile when Cassian asked to join him was what he wanted. Luthen wanted Cassian on his side.

Gilroy builds tension like a maestro and we dance to his steampunk marching band tune. Superb show and in my mind the best SW show every made for television. A shout out also to Nicholas Britell's amazing music score which as been simply brilliant. This show was for us old farts who watched A New Hope all those decades ago, the one we have waited for. Waiting for SW to catchup up to us. The no holds barred Empire that will fuck you up. The Stormtroopers that don't miss. A Mon Mothma that sacrifices her values and morals for the greater good.😍 Nothing was 'played' for laughs here, these people had to work to survive, they sacrificed blood and bone and barely came out the other side.

The end scene between Luthen and Kassian is so great. it shows what Nemik wrote in his Manifesto. Specially the last word "Try" combined with the "I assume i am already dead..." line from Kino before, makes this confrontation where he says "Kill me, or take me in" more meaningful and purposely placed as a scene.

Such an emotional episode. Finally Andor starts his journey for the rebellion. He has nothing to lose now. Like maarva said, Andor is now a formidable foe to the empire.

Y'all, that post-credits scene means that Cassian was a builder of his own destruction.

He said kill me or TAKE ME IN, not take me out. I think you guys were talking over part of that line. The point is he knows he can't survive being hunted by both the Empire and Luthen, so he is surrendering to Luthen, either to die, or to be a committed member of the rebellion.

Cassian gave his gun to Luthen and said “kill me or take me in” which meant that he was giving him a choice on what to do with him. And making it clear that he’s ready to fight for the rebellion if Luthen will let him. At this point Cassian either wants to die or fight. There’s no other option for him anymore.

We finally get to see a (half) smile from Luthen that is not for show, but genuine. Maarva's speech had an effect on several people, including Luthen and Syril's Sargent Mosk (we see him drinking, sitting up against a wall at the end. Has he had a slight change of heart?)

Guys, I think Perin will be redeemed... we have been questioning his motives, calling it a "loveless marriage"... I think we're gonna be surprised at the end. We are set up to believe it will go one way, and watch it go another. This show was a great surprise... not that I liked it- I would LOVE most anything Star Wars themed- but that it had no Jedi, no force lore, and no "main" characters... and STILL was 100% STAR WARS! The runners treated the universe with a lot of respect. And it shows. And we all love it because of that! Great stuff as always, bros!

The music the band was playing has been the theme and the song at the beginning of all 12 episodes!

The only cameo I’ve been campaigning for since this show was announced is the return of Cassian’s Rebel Intelligence commander from Rogue One movie, General Draven. The novels explored a very interesting relationship he has with Cassian and with Mon Mothma. If any pre-existing characters should return and get some more nuance and depth, it’s Draven. If Andor could give more to Melshi and recontextualize his moments in Rogue One, then I’m hoping Draven gets the same.

The only character I could see having a cameo or big role in S2 that we already know is Bail Organa. Could be cool to see him connect with Mon Mothma and how they pull their resources to really find the rebellion. Maybe even Cassian does a mission with him or something. Other than that I don’t see any other character coming in. Maybe a name drop of Krennic and his “project” and how that affects the ISB funding or something but I don’t think we will actually see him. As always great reaction and man did this show really surprise me! I absolutely loved it. Bring on season 2!

Cassian at the end: GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH!!!!!

I need a apin-off with Luthren and Kleya. The actress who played his assistant nailed that character to perfection...her hand gestures, tonal inflections, pausing, glances were all on point. Her responses to Vel during their dialogues were some of the most artful undressing I have seen on film. And the manner she interacts with Luthren tells you there is alot of backstory there.

What? That's not a cliffhanger, we obviously know he takes him in and joins The Rebellion! 😂😂

So the irony is that Cassian was building the thing that would eventually kill him. it is also even more ironic that Cassian was building the thing that he would eventually destroy

Hector’s bloodthirst fits right in with Maarva calling the empire and all who serve them a Disease. And honestly, same Hector.

TV Tropes: Kill Me Now or Forever Stay Your Hand. Either kill me right now or we bury the hatchet between us. Cassie gave Luthen 100% of the power to show how serious he was about joining the rebellion.

While I read a few posts and watch the 3 presenters, I just have to state: there is NO cliffhanger. The episode and season ended very nicely. Quite well done. Sorry, no cliffhanger.

After the Aldhani heist another episode where they built tension to an exceptionally masterful degree. And it's oh so rewarding when that tension is released, the damn breaks and the fighting starts. Just one thing... it's a shame the, uh, anvil-hammer-guy didn't dome that Stormtrooper coming for him with a hammer. Kicking him down the tower was great, sure, but just not the same. :D And i loved seeing Brasso (low-key one of my favorite characters in this show), being the big guy he is, go to town on the Empire's goons. Also, Stormtroopers getting shit done is slightly terrifying. As a side note - i like this funerary rite the have on Ferrix. The whole procession thing with the marching band, the idea with the bricks, too. Love it.

That end credit scene just took me back to the scene in Clerks where the guy is talking about the laborers building the death star

Def top 1 show I’ve seen this year. Just phenomenal story telling.

Not really a cliffhanger when you know that Cassian is obviously not going to be killed in this moment. That leaves you with only one other option.

So much to digest in this episode, which I’m very satisfied with, a good cliffhanger and the ending credit - here are my highlights - Mon Mothra surprised me with the daughter situation. I know that they’re doing anything for this rebellion because they need funding. It just kind of broke me a little bit. Maarva’s funeral and her last speech telling the truth about the Empire & Cassian hearing it. Then everybody rising up was great!! I do believe that Cassian had to go through the certain events like meeting up with Luthen, going to prison, coming back & hearing his mother pass & her speech, seeing what the Empire did to Bix, leading him where we find him at the end of this episode that “woke” moment, he wanted in, I believe he wants to be a part of this rebellion! Great writing, so sad this season is done, what the heck am I gonna do on Wednesday’s?! This series, gave me more faith in Star Wars again!

I'm interested in seeing how the events of this episode changes Luthen for next season. He definitely had a look about him that for once wasn't calm and collected, he seemed almost stunned or lost after the riot started. Also will Andor share the manifesto with anyone or will it be something he will keep to himself??

Cassian is not 'depress', he is committed. 'Kill me, or take me in'. That's his offer of commitment.

The kill me or take me in line is Cassian showing Luthen that he is now 100 percent commited to the rebellion. It was the only way to show Luthen that he was all the way in.

I it's ten months later and something literally occured to me, the recording, about how every act of resistence every rebellion extends the frontline and leads to the moment that is one to many.... It says even if the people of Ferix lose the fight at this moment, it is still one of the many uprisings and acts of rebellion that lead to the overthrow of the Empire, it was saying they could lose this fight, and they still won the war, and this moment was part of it

I commented this on another video. Now I need a re-edit of Rogue One with an end credit scene showing B2 in a room asking, "Where's Cassian?"

I know this quotes been memed to death but it is kinda poetic how Cassian inspired his mother to rise up against the Empire. And later on, his mother inspired him to fight for a greater cause than just him and his family. To be an unstoppable force for good. In the end, Cassian died for the Rebellion. And it was his sacrifice which led to Luke Skywalker blowing up the Death Star.

The closing shot of the end credits is an echo of the opening credits with the Rebellion sign and "ANDOR". Waiting for Eric Voss to confirm on Monday.
