The SNP's bumbling John Nicolson digs himself into another hole - no wonder he has a case of dry mouth.... [EDIT: That's what comes from being such a buffoon - out on yer erse!]
The SNP are fine when they are talking to one another as they’re in the same bubble. It’s when they speak to real people that they fall flat on their faces.
Andrew Neil, one of Scotland finest products for the British Isles. The man is never rude, just courteous and so well informed it's untrue. His facts and his manner in which he delivers them stops any politician obfuscating, lieing and generally trying to bluster. A national treasure and a much needed intelligent debater in a time of imbeciles.
Well said Toza.It will be a sad day when Andrew Neil retires.I will always remember prior to the general election when he had a panel of MPs from different parties and he asked for simple yes and no answers to a series of quick fire questions.Greg Clark (now in May's cabinet but heaven knows why)was the Conservative representative and he didn't give a single yes or no response, but wanted to qualify ever answer of his.Andrew Neil just became so frustrated he just simply asked,'what part of yes and no don't you understand?'.Brilliant the way he cut the guy down from his pomposity. Also his interview with Lady Nugee, sorry Emily Thornberry, concerning UK citizens going to Syria to join Islamic State, was just another classic moment of serving it up to a human rights lawyer showing the ridiculousness of their argument.
adrian lloyd I have an ever increasing respect for this man, he's head of the spectator, the top political man at the Beeb ( and that's just surprising in its own bias) humorous, easy to listen too and always the silent assassin of the waffles and deceivers.
Eoghan Moriarty Rich that a republican can support Andrew Niel when we all know in the spirit of BBC reporting on Independance, he has an agenda. Knowing how much the Irish love the Brits I'm surprised you like Niel.
Truly - these people have to go. For anyone who hasn't seen it, watch Joanna Cherry telling Andrew Neil how important the EU market is for Scottish exports - yet she couldn't put a figure on annual Scottish exports to EU countries when asked. Even I knew the answer to that. They have to be the most amateur people in the history of the world to pass themselves off as politicians.
Probably she could'nt answer because it wasnt one of the pre approved questions she had said she will only answer... Shock horror pre approved questions would you believe it !!
Just watched this in 2019 and the editing is brilliant......spat my tea out at Batman 🤣🤣 Andrew Neil can see straight thru the SNP.....he has recently given Nicola Crankie-Sturgeon the same treatment. Thanks for the vid.
He always looks like he's just downed a pint, for a bet, moments before the camera turns to his answer and he's trying his best not to throw it back up 😂
Scotland is not a member state of the EU and Scotland has not voted to stay in the EU because Scotland is not in the EU..The member state is the UK, the UK voted to leave as one single unit. Regional voting pattern variations count for nothing. and the SNP need to watch their patronising use of language. But sadly people are falling for it.
All the SNP talk about is what’s best for Scotland, imagine Boris Johnson saying what we want is what’s best for England, there would be an uproar, but it’s ok for the SNP.
I'm looking forward to watching him present a real new program rather than the current biases we have. It's so difficult to get to the bottom of what's going on unless you watch it live.
This is the John Nicholson who lost his East Dunbartonshire seat but at the next election was installed in Ochil and South Perthshire for his beloved SNP Party where he remains in 2023….
If every other journalist did their job properly, like Neil does, this cult would not be in power in Scotland. At some point, we need to realise that a fairly large section of the voting public look to the media when deciding who to vote for. If what they see is an "unchallenged" speech by whatever politician then many will buy into their rhetoric. The annoying thing is that even really poor journalists could completely destroy most of the snp reps as seen here because their whole narrative is based on grievance and contradicting ideologies.
I remember this episode well! Playground politics of the Scottish nationalist Party front and centre again. Another glorious example of why the cretins at the beeb should never have axed this show. It was always the best of the politics shows, but when Dimpleby left Q.T. it was the only mature show they had left.
I feel sorry for Scotland, whatever the feel for the union is the SNP are out of their depth. By all means have independence but for goodness sake have leaders that will deliver the facts, good or bad
The EU will NOT let them use Stirling. They have made that very clear. Also Scotland will inherit NO treaties or agreements, the EU have made that very clear. Also there is a phrase being used that is incorrect. "We want Independence and to stay in the EU" that is very misleading. The correct phrase should be "We want Independence and to then apply for membership of the EU". Because Scotland is not an EU member, the UK is the member. So when Scotland does one and leaves the UK it no longer has access to anything in the EU. It is neither linked to/supported by the UK and is neither linked to/supported by the EU. It will have to apply for membership of the latter and that will take a minimum of 5 years. Currently it will fail membership requirements (that lovely £12 B deficit Jimmy keeps ignoring). Same reason why the UK is the member from the getgo. Whales, NI and Scotland would have failed to meet entry requirements (eec) all those years ago. So, Scotland will spend up to 5 years (best case) in the wilderness, aligned and allied to no one with an ever increasing deficit. What are the odd's of it surviving? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lbYy0d1H6Q4.html
Hope over fear are no 1independence org the more attacks on sn p the more traction hope over fear will get. Hope over fear tell Westminster Tories that Scotland's no longer your slave a fine song by Mr g cinnamon
Leaving aside the Scottish question this is a prime example of a world class journalist tearing apart a newsreader, which is as l remember Nicolson from his Breakfast TV days (if we’re being generous we could, l suppose, call him a presenter) ..... he might say he was a journalist....not on this evidence.
