man, the sound of the ball being struck from Rublev's forehand is just incredible. Love this guy's game. Hope he stays at this level for a while yet! He's fun to watch, even when he's getting frustrated with his play :P
One think about Rublev, all the power seemed to be generated JUST from his fast arm. He is not using his whole body. Its very obvious when he is stretched and not in position when hitting, his shots are significantly slower
I’m 56 and just got back into tennis after 25 yrs. I must have been killing it against the wall the other night, as a couple of young gun slingers on the next court invited me to hit with them. I couldn’t believe how hard they hit….and how hard it was to react to their pace, let alone get a decent racket on the ball. Watching these two hit at this angle blows my mind. Gives me a whole new appreciation for the game and it’s athletes. As a side note: My young friends eased up after watching the comedic spectacle of me chasing down a drop shot, tripping over my feet and skidding face first into the net! It’s hell getting old!!
I mean 2-3 tears ago when I was 22 and started playing some tennis there where mant guys there some around your age some much older than you that played great and could curvestomp me and my friends . Its not about getting old its that you literaly didn t plat the sport in mire than 2 decades
I honestly never realized from watching Karatsev on tv with a high angle how damn good this dude is. Rublev we all know hits the lights out of the ball, but Karatsev impressed the hell out of me. Both guys are so damn good.
Saw Rublev at Laver Cup. His forehand is amazing. The accuracy, pace and even the acoustics of his forehand was mesmerizing. Would love to see him win a major some day.
its incredible how fast these guys are hitting the balls, no video truly does it justice than seeing it live, there are hitting the crap outta those balls in every stroke lol
Aslan's ability to generate so much pace on the forehand while literally just flicking his wrist and timing the shot to perfection absolutely amazes me. Didn't realize that's how he hit the ball until now -- wow
The best forehead in the game. Possibly the best in the history of the game. Looks so effective, as every part of the swing look to be working to maximize the effect. Even Federer’s forehead looks handsy in comparison.
Rublev does something very unique with his torso during his stroke where he tenses the muscles and relaxes them fast as if he's spasming his torso to generate more power. I tried it hitting against the wall where you almost stop your forehand midway almost and it works you almost tense and stop and let that momentum carry your racquet forward. He is super relaxed and then turns on 1000 volts for a split second near contact. Its weird but he is doing something that really adds power here.
@@idarthcadeus definitely. I remember seeing his matches earlier this year in Monte carlo. He was so calm and confident, there was not a single flash of anger or fury. As a result, he defeated Nadal and played final against Tsitsipas where he obviously lost because of fatigue. And after that he returned to his psycho version of himself on court
Really close to Davydenko's game. Commits to every single shot, takes the ball very early, really consistent, but I'd say he hits harder than the latter. He's a true machine, but he's not the most powerful player among the young generation but certainly one of the toughest mentally ! He could potentially win a slam but I wouldn't bet on it.
It's the Laver 2021 paintjob (which is red), not 2022 (which is blue). The video was shot in October 2021 when IW got rescheduled after the US Open due to the coronavirus pandemic.
I have a question for learning purpose: At 4:37 - What was the mistake that lead to Rublev hitting the ball into the net? Wasn't he low enough or should his swing path have been more vertical or was the timing off? Please somebody help me out with your analysis
