Modern advancement in tv resolution rates and more recent tv series and movies using cinema level CG have molded our minds which in turn affects how our memories recall older early CG tv series.
it's not the quality that gets me, it's the recycled animations. I think they got greedy with the quality and decided they didn't care about the quantity of animation... and then it aged and now has neither quantity or quality.
The weirdest thing about it is that it was before DEI and now with DEI inserted into every corner of every movie, show, game and book they struggle to get even one likable strong female character.
yea she called Rommie XD Beka thou this episode in special got tossed around AND hard pressed into something she never wanted in the first place. Her as squad leader? Nope, bad position for her. She regards the crew as her family, and as Squad leader you SEE them die all the time. Even pilots as good as rogue squadron got loses during the war with the empire. If she would have objected against it, no one would have complained at all. The show itself is full of them, it was roddenbery's FINAL vision, a more accurate one to our earth nowday's than star trek would ever be.
Why is that so odd. RL warship carry land attack missiles. In Sci-Fi, ships would carry planetary missiles for several reasons. An anti ship missile will be doing a decent amount of the speed of light, with stuff like an anti matter warhead. Now imagine what such a missile would do to a planet. Pick your favourite "asteroid hitting a planet" film, for an idea of what one of these missiles would to to a planet. Planetary missiles would be scaled down, so as not to trash the planet, with a few hits.
Its good but I can't watch this I forgot how excellent a series Andromeda was, I have the full box set on DVD I will have to watch them all again, they had some really epic space battles for a made for TV series. Kevin Sorbo ended up doing some good movies "Sniper Elite" being one but Hollyweird kind of cut Kevin out of the big movies must have been something he did right.
The original writer and producer was forced out. You can tell the bit when the stories he had written or overseen ran out. The writing team was gradually replaced as Sorbo and his clique gained power. After that it became 'Kevin Sorbo show'.
@@justinmartin6976 Agreed...when Tyr left I left...dont think I made it to season 3...the Pyrians had 300 years to advance and Andromeda, single handedly held them from their objective, I found it BS and lost interest
@@ptonpc A pity as Sorbo was clearly awful at running a show given how off the rails it went. Season 1 showed promise that, alas, the show would never realise. This seems like it would be a good series to reboot, so long as it wouldn't require Sorbo's involvement again.
@@jonreese7066 They fired Wolfe mid season 2 because Sorbo didn't like how the series progressed without him being the absolute center. It went just downhill from there.
as far i know it was a concept he tryeed to pitch a couple of times , but much like big studios today rather choke the market and milk customers for crap the cable channels and such back then shoot it down as what the subscribers never knew of they never miss while refreshing their cable tv subs , as far i know it was not until later after he died and his wife more or lees was 'leasing' out his ideas to ghost writers with his postume blessing to keep herself well supplied that it got picked up as a hit or two of something else predictably made the big channels and such all want their own ''gene rodenberry material'' , and indeed andromeda as far i know only hade some of its characters and basic universe fleshed out and little more when it at last got a chance to shine , despite the muck that the channels and second hand directors/writers/ego's fractured its potential with because dam , the way the concept treated A.I's as PROPER A.I's ...and its universe hade a simple but so deliciously organic history just like the characters ..what a priceless cult thing it could have been if not damaged by the 'muck' of the 'time' it was made in so to speak
@@Amoth_oth_ras_shashYeah the series had alot of amazing concepts that were squandered by Kevin's need to be the centre of attention and the TV Execs wanting more episodic stories. I wish someone would reboot this but that probably won't happen.
Captain Dillion Hunt HOW LONG DID IT TAKE HIM TO GET THE Commonweath Back together ! ? And then what happened where they Greatfull NN OO THEY DID NOT EVEN GIVE HIM a NEW SHIP F ~ NO WAY ;
Well to be fair the new commonwealth only has 30 old high guard ships and the rest are member world ships. The bulk of their military power comes from the Sabre -Jaguar Pride. They did slowly build a few new ships but they only had 50 worlds. That's still a nothingth of a percent compared to the 1 million world's of the old commonwealth. The Pryian Empire had 1 million world's if not more after the long night so they were FAR out of their weight class, a tiny regional power vs a Hyper power
The Andromeda Acendant was the flagship of the old commonwealth fleet if I remember correctly. And considering the technological decline we see... shes probably still the best he could get
@@HubiKoshi He ehhhh, kinda went off the deep end and is now some pseudo christian pro-Trump qultist. He made a bunch of very cringey pseudo christian propaganda films as well. He's not a well man.
No, I'm sorry.... I really really tried... I watched them all (mainly) as they were broadcast because I do like to give shows a good run to get me hooked (I watched ALL of SGU and loved it... eventually). but it's just ........... rubbish. And I'm not talking about the CGI which was crap even compared to Babylon 5 which was made for about $100 (and was INFINITELY better)... the acting is wooden, the script third rate and it just makes me cringe. And, worst of all.... age has not been kind to it.. you can forgive old stuff because, well, its old and you get used to it and love it for what it is... but this is just crap.. and was when it was made.
@@GenJuhru Farscape and Lexx were both amazing series that were often 1 step short of a drug trip and while Farscape got to go out on a high with Peacekeeper Wars poor Lexx died a slow death.
a unpolished potential gemstone of a universe and character set up to 'guide' readers ...but ye , in hind sight its easy to see how it suffered all the 'troubles of the time' it was made in :/ still , love it for the concept and initial A.I representation ..and mechs
You Yanks are loud enough without you shouting in the comments. And we don't care about your politics, just if your TV programmes are decent enough to watch.
