I love this episode when Aunt Bee gets a crush on the "medicine man." So wonderfully performed by good acting from both of them. It was hysterical to see the ladies from the church get tipsy! Love it!!!

John Dehner had that suave classically handsome appearance that belied his star talent. A great guest appearance on the finest show in television history. The Andy Griffith show could take the simplest ideas and turn them into magic. Never has a show combined comedy, with such warmth and charm as this iconic gem. Why shows no longer have this blend of writing and talent is our misfortune. No show will ever match it again.

I like how Andy delivers the line, "All it does is give you a buzz", with that drawl.

The best part is when he shows Opie how to do Indian smoke signals.

I love the scene where John Dehner showed Ron Howard the Indian smoke signals on the Andy Griffith Show .But not seen in this video ) 😭 But I remembered seeing this episode at least twice . And I just love the way that John Dehner did the Indian smoke signals on the Andy Griffith Show !

Everything about this show was A+ - concept, writing, casting, acting. The best! Andy=the rock of the show. Don Knotts=one of the best comedians ever.

This reminds me of the Thanksgiving when my dad poured Morgan David wine into a grape juice container and gave mom's mom 7 glasses of it it was the only time n her life she was civil. The next day she asked me what kind of grape juice it was because it took away her rhumatisn she had a little headache that morning but she figures she ate so much the day before.when I took her home she was feeling no pain sge was singing and when she sat in her swivel rocker she went clear around just like aunt bee

and to this day people are still looking for an Elixir.
