@@EianAldrich bro that was damn good filming ! I saw in another comment where u said iPhone 6 ? Lol what 😆😆😆 bruh YOU ARE AN OFFICIAL CAMERA MAN To pull that quality off with an iPhone 6 😂 Not to mention that THIS version is my favorite on the internet ! I am surprised Andy himself hasn’t contacted u and thanked you for the video
Does anyone in 2023 still think this man is a wizard and should apply at hogwarts in the field of mind-blowing music????? If so I applaud you because I feel the same way!!!!!!!!
Andy is a legend and an absolute gentleman, was so lucky to have met and helped tech for him at guitar clinic the shop I worked for was putting on. True artists and human
It’s fucking incredible! Just like that awesome Cry For You bootleg live version, it’s better than what he put down on the record. Amazing sound too especially since the sound isn’t from the board! You can hear the bartender collecting bottles in the back lol!
@@EianAldrich You did a really great job! I recorded Metallica at Webster Hall with my iPhone 6 and the sound was better than I expected but this turned out really great.
I'm stunned!! It reminds me when I first saw Gary Moore with Skid Row in 1970, live on stage, it has the same power and blinding ability, amazing. It shows that music is a very real communication
With Andy Timmons, there is never a wasted note. He plays meaningfully all the way through. He also has some of the best energy build ups in soloing I've ever heard!
No kidding. Not even the camera work can be criticized. I can't remember the last time I saw a video of a live show where I wasn't yelling at the camera man to go back to what I wanted to see.
@Braxton Nibley I know there are a lot of copy cats out there but not Andy. Of course he is influenced by EJ but so is Joe Bonamassa. Andy also has a bit of Jeff Beck in him. Andy is not one of those typical shredders but incredibly versatile and always has an incredible tone and his Beatles covers are amazing. Besides that he is a very humble and funny guy.
Why does everyone who can't play guitar say this about guitarists? That's good no that's good its subjective that's why you don't listen to justin Bieber
Agreed. I normally hate recording or using my phone during concerts, but I wasn't sure when I would get to see him again live.. If ever. He doesn't tour in my area often. Somehow I captured this magic with no distortion or crappy quality.
He absolutely is, been in the scene since the early 90s (atleast thats as early as I know of). Guy is an absolute monster of a player and a legend, no doubt. Look up some of his live performances of Cry For You if you haven't seen them.
Because the music industry is controlled and purposely pushing out garbage. The list keeps getting longer with great players like Andy that nobody's ever heard of. Here's to a musical renaissance 🥂
The solo from 4:00 to end is brilliant. That is what modern guitar playing is suposed to be! Taste, technique, tempo, vocabulary, sense of melody... great great!
Vocabulary is right. There's something of everything in there but all of it in proportion and tasteful. Shred meets blues meets Hendrix rhythm playing meets whatever else.
Not only is this an amazing song, but the video is exceptional. It's something about the lighting, barely being able to see their faces, and the lens pulsing from the sound. It has something magical about it.
@@ggdk2865 Because you don't leave the musicians in the dark. That's why. My hubby was in the music biz for years so I do know how things are supposed to be done.
@@geschichtenschreiber I actually liked it more than the usual stuff you see. Nice atmospheric, moody and dark purple lights cutting out their silhouettes, leaving their faces kinda mysterious. And then a nice shine on the interesting and important thing; the instrument.
Yes. I chose it as the actual song I walked to. After the screaming at the end of the base solo, I walked. It was magical. That base in the beginning.....💙
Who the heck has disliked this live?!? This is a ultimately incredible live that just makes your open your jaw and gets you goosebumps especially from the second verse 4:00 where he does the harmonics thing and improvises to the end. There's no such thing as this.
Andy Timmons is .. Expealafantasticawesomelishious!!! A world class session guitarist, With multiverse level of precision, note selection and light speed fluid transition.. His level of touch relationship with the string is as high as Mt. Everest. Thank you Mr. Timmons!
"Express, don't impress." So. Much. Soul AND it's a technical masterpiece. In a world where computers play most "artists" music for them this is a refreshing breath of life. Thank you maestro. Thank you
The most complete guitar song. The way Andy builds upon the starting riff and creates this masterpiece, I wonder how could people dislike. This song shows us you don't need heavy shreds or complex movements to make a song that no one wouldn't remember.
Genius, just hear that improvisation...that's pure soul...Andy is really musician that can transfer his feelings through his playing. Thanks for sharing Eian!
@@vitorisaia It’s ridiculous! Most guys could spend years trying to compose something this good while Andy can do it on the fly! IMO these skills can’t be taught. You either naturally have this ability to feel the music like this or you don’t no matter how much you practice. But that’s ok! This isn’t a sport. We can only do the best we can and admire greatness whenever and wherever we see it.
First heard this song and Andy way back 2009. Stumbled upon this version today, 9 years after. And I can say this is the best version I've heard hands down. Manly tears were shed sir. Manly tears were shed.
My fave song of Andy's! Saw him in Savage, MN some years ago, and he did this song. He told me he uses his Boss Blues Driver on this. He's a sweetheart of a guy and so nice, and super-talented! God bless him!
Ive watched this a hundred times .. every time is like the first.. never gets old , thank u for loading this video up.. its brought so much peaceful kickback time for me.. for me listening to tunes like this is a welcome escape from stress. and anything else that drags u down..
Thank you for sharing this! I listen to Andy almost every day on the drive to or from work. This is my favorite version of Electric Gypsy yet! He keeps freshening it up and I love it.
TheD33pthawt I’ve been listening to electric gypsy almost everyday for the last few months on my drive back home after a long day of work, I just can’t get enough of the tone, it just simply helps me relax and unwind
Saw him a few years back in Dallas at a guitar show and he played this song. If I remember right it was right before the album came out. It was incredible. My younger brother actually got to sit down and talk to him at a little thing he was doing at a music store a year or so later and said he's one of the nicest guys my brother has ever met.
check out "there are no words"... maybe a little slow on the shred, but the voicing... out of this world. have been a proud owner of Ear-X-tacy since the mid 90's when I used to see him play live a couple of times a year at a local joint in Dallas
I keep hearing what a nice guy he is. The time I met him at a clinic he wasn’t so nice. I just said that was an amazing gig and he gave this nasty look. Oddly enough he was going on about how Malmstein had turned his back on him when he had said the same thing during the clinic. At the time I just thought he was a prat but everyone keeps saying how nice he is. Maybe I caught him at a bad moment. Anyway great guitarist.
@@groovemachine3512 Well unfortunately I don't have any first hand experience to speak of other than my brother's. I hope that he was just having a bad day or something when you saw him. I know I certainly do from time to time.
So much emotion going on here, if this is what playing guitar is then I will always dedicate myself creating music like this,. No words to hear but it can communicate a lot to those who listen .
Andy Timmons has made a name for himself and in my humble opinion he did it by focusing more on what he's playing than how he's playing it. That took him - an excellent guitar player out of the pond full of excellent guitar players and gave him place that's all his own. The videos I've seen he seems like one of those guys who's hard not to like - so nicely done Andy Timmons
Feel pity for those who haven't heard this wonderful piece of music.. or those who don't listen to this genre of artists... Thanks Andy and the team.. Your music has always been a motivation for my life..
