@@abelzeliang7877 Yes, and it seems it sometimes happens with international artist during live concerts in Japan. Search your favourite artist and see. The atmosphere maybe.
Both Paul Gilbert and Steve Vai were also playing at this concert. Steve played some very tasty tunes too. But this song was probably my favorite from this concert. This is the best version of this song I've come across. Andy was in the zone. Lol.
A guy doing construction at our house was listening to Andy Timmons. I heard the music and just had to ask him, "Who the hell is this?" I've now become an Andy Timmons fan...what a guitarist.
Many guitarists have tried to cover this song, but none can resemble the touch, the feeling, the bending, the harmonic, etc. None comes close. Andy is just different... His guitar is truly crying... 😢😢
It is indeed, it feels if Andy's guitar is not plugged into an amp, but straight into his heart. I got tears in my eyes so many times listening to this gem.
@@paullevine1813 Have you heard Jubilant also? A gem also, but most are great. I hope he puts that one on a future record and I hope he makes it twice as long.
Every guitarist knows there are just some days when you can’t put a foot wrong . Something is being channeled through you . Your tone , your choice of notes ,your feel and musical influences all come together at once . It’s rear and it’s magic . Andy Timmons most certainly found his inner guitar god in this performance . Insane .
Those days are so rare. Adapting to snail house songs, is like trying to play polyphia. Elite guitarist struggle tryin to learn polyphia. Younger players with less experience seem to learn faster, they practice but not like 8 hours daily. Young guitarist learn rhythm blues chops originally Hendrix (muddy waters) adding flamenco, thump technique that creates totallynew style. Eighties shredders Paul Gilbert Marty Friedman are terrified. Steve vai is only one, I seen admit he cant do what polyphia does. Polyphia can play anything Paul Gilbert, or yngyang, on spot. They don’t play acoustic like polyphia. Lmao!!
@@dannyhood4007I appreciate polyphia, but they can’t make the guitar cry like Andy and others. They don’t ring much bell into my ears. I appreciate the technical evolution and the melodic layering. I personally learned bits of playing god and it is so fun to play. Yet it is just fun, not much soul in it.
I have been playing for 30 years and only dream of playing like this everytime I hear this it makes me remember what made me fall in love with guitar I know I’ll never been on this level true inspiration
Andy and Simon kicked it 30 years ago. A more recent Simon and Andy, part of Protocol, was another amazing engagement. Soulful guitar execution and it rocked. Our access to such talent is unparalleled in this age of the net. We are so lucky.
This guitar performance should be taught not only in every music school but also in regular schools just to show to the students what music can offer and what a human being, like Andy, can have in his pure soul
This is from the Ibanez 90th Anniversary concert, Andy definitely stole the show that night. He blew all the other greats out of the water with this song. 🤘🏼✌🏼
I sort of agree, but I think Andy gets all the credit he deserves from feeling that music in the way he does and then being able to translate it into unbelievable guitar playing. Credit comes from another place for Andy, I feel sure.
Seen this clip hundreds of times, possibly the most intense ever rendition of one of the most beautiful instrumentals ever, brings tears to my eyes, still every single time.
Andy dont hear music, he feels it. I love that. Im a music enthusiast and just a beginner, intermediate guitar player, nothing really pro and can feel the same way when i hear this live version or the album.version. make faces and things like that. Eargasmic song. What a monster guitarist
Yes , " make faces and Things like " ... think i know what you mean , Andys Feelings and the Guitar is melting to a unit . He could Play in darkness , cause He don't have Look on the strings . Alvin Lee and many others was such Players. Greetings from HAMBURG 😎 🎸🎶
@@helgereichert6094 "andy feelings and the guitar is melting to a unit". those words defines this performance. 👍. Greetings to Hamburg from the very south of Chile.🤘
Then you should stop being late at the party. The first popular post of this clip has over 3 million views.. The original video is the Ibanez 90th anniversary, also ft. Steva Vai, Simon Phillips and Paul Gilbert..
This is without a doubt the most gut wrenching electric guitar performance to date. It can get no better. This version of Andy’s, Cry for You , is the electric guitar bible. It’s the human soul , exposed in every aspect………….God bless Andy
i almost quit playing guitar but everytime i listen to andy its like an addiction it makes me crave more learning new things about guitar playing...tone ,phrasing, creating tension between chord changes this guy is everything....
I'm pretty much speechless here. I used to be obsessed with this song and never saw this, not only is this song an absolute masterpiece, but this performance right here is a masterpiece in itself. A timeless moment right here, with so many powerful moments in it. Just legendary.
My guitar teacher showed me this video when I was starting some advanced lessons with him. After this video, I learned three things: 1.- It's possible to become one with your guitar and go into full beast mode when you love what you're doing and you play for passion, not for a living. 2.- Andy Timmons became to me, in that very moment, one of my absolute references to rock instrumental guitar. 3.- When you learn how to tell a story with your guitar, lyrics are not needed. This is the BEST instrumental ballad I've heard in my whole life. Thank you Andy!!!!
So cool to hear this from when he was playing through the Laney's, such killer tone, but also shows how the Mesa's add something amazing that I didn't know I needed. Hearing him through the Lonestar is a complete assault on my senses and emotions. Andy is music personified.
Still love this song after almost 20 years, especially love watching this live performance, how he always playing with so much emotion, and you can tell he's really feeling those notes he played, and it makes you feeling it too.. he only care about music he plays and not acting like a cool guitar god on stage. such pure expression from a musician is not something you can easily find in other guitarists
I don't believe that I'm seeing this for the first time right now! This is F*** crazy!!! His is insane!!! The sound, the feel, the tone, the love, everything is just perfect... 🎸🙃
One of the few Guitarvirtuoso that can play a story and you can follow it without telling a word.. Music is a language and Mr. Timmons is in my humble opinion one of the best musical linguists
Very few people in the world can let their spirit shine so freely. This is just so soulful. A masterpiece was made this evening for sure. God bless you Andy
I just saw Andy at a local guitar clinic last week. Only 30 people in the place. He played this song with same emotion then as he did in this video. The guy is always on fire….
Sometimes an artist gets a glimpse of the divine and in that moment channels it to their playing. Andy can do no wrong here, whatever he plays on a whim will be gold.
Quite possibly the most emotive guitar performance (as it relates to song title....okay, in general) ever!!!! I have always loved the studio version(s)....but this? WOW!
This is the song and video that introduced me to Andy Timmons music. If it wasn't for RU-vid suggesting it one day a few years ago I may not have been aware of him. Still my favorite song of his and I tried learning it but it's incredibly hard. Life long fan now!
Andy went to a nother dimension and came back. Explain for us how it was like Andy? And Andy says ... - its imposible for me to explain it with words, but give me a guitar and i show you!
The most heart to fingers performance of all time... guitar instrumental ballad of the highest kind... composed and played to PERFECTION! Hats off Andy... you already have left something magical behind for generations to come.. I wish we all could say the same!
