There are degrees of Christianity. In the US, especially in the so-called Bible belt, there are large communities of hardcore fundamentalist Christians, they go as far as putting the Bible before science (Creationists). They literally believe in demons, and that Satan is behind world events. I think he's one of them.
Calling JRPGs gay is the fastest way to lose sympathy. Bruh, JRPGs have so many masculine characters that the emasculated ones stand out like sore thumbs. Ruca from Tales of Innocence and Edge from Star Ocean The Last Hope are the EXCEPTIONS, so much so that they feel out of places among other JRPG protagonists. Making remarks like AndyPants just shows how much of a tourist he is. He doesn't have the balls to do half the things JRPG protagonists typically jump into.
Also, I think AndyPants didn't actually play Red Dead Revolver because that game was goofy af. Revolver was not the gritty Western that Rockstar turned the series into starting with Redemption 1.

I subbed to Andy pants a couple of weeks ago because I liked how funny his rants were, but unsubbed on the video you're talking about. He's either going insane or is actually a polar opposite of woke. I prefer reasonable conversation rather than name calling.
Andy is a hyper religious Christian and believes homosexuality is a sin/wrong etc. He often refers to LGBT and DEI stuff as "satanist" and outright states that "gay = bad." He's also massively obsessed with masculinity and "jacked masculine dudes" etc. to the point that it's ironically kinda gay.
Focusing on masculinity is not really Gay... concentrate on the physical features and superficial aspects of masculinity without any virtue or merit. Yeah...he certainly does, just like the degenerates who are not just gay (a homosexual with a stable relationship with another stable homosexual, which to me is just a mildly different man that has the same spiritual basis as man and therefore is equal to men.) but are GAY (rebellious, sexually degenerate, subversive in creed and presentation and intentionally malicious and feminine to be against man). To feel disgusted and resentful toward such people...who ironically are more likely to change their representation to appear more allied to the evil that embodies that culture, rather than be honest about who they truly are...since that would ironically result in them being ousted by the same community because of their flippancy and the flimsy creed being open to see.

I would say that what the guy is saying is a little over the top. It is entirely predictable at this point. And I also understand why he's getting weird about it. We already know there are "game consultation companies" that are really propaganda outlets for extreme progressive and feminazi ideals. Games like Concord and Dustoborn are just 2 examples of game companies listening to bullshit and letting themselves get gaslit over non-issues. It's been going on for about 10 years now? Maybe 12? And when these games fail like they do and will, they blame all of us. You guys know it. We all know it. Having said that, videos like these are needed to help bring those of us who have started looking everywhere for anything to be woke back down to earth. I caught myself ALMOST doing this very same thing. Thankfully, I recognized it and stepped away from certain videos. They have created an environment with the game studios' help of suspicion and distrust. They've been trying and failing for 10ish years. So naturally, some people are conditioned to always look for this stuff. Companies like the soon to be sold or bankrupt Ubisoft and Sweet Baby Inc. have done this to themselves.
I'm actually at a point where I'm glad to be more aware of woke stuff. We didn't catch it when it was in Disney's Aladdin, nor did we catch it when "God" was always portrayed as a black guy or a woman, _et cetera._ At this point, I'm happy to avoid this kind of anti-Christian, anti-white, guilt-laiden sanctimony. Or maybe it's just fear because they don't understand their demographic. Either way, I'm happy to not support it. Shoot, I don't even _love_ some of the kind-of-progressive stuff in Ghost of Tsushima, but it keeps it non-political and you can tell the writing is being done by people who are actually trying to write good stories. Plus the game-play is bloody fun, so it gets a pass.
Yeah, one has to be careful not to get lost in the sauce. It's a very ...... toxic matter. It's very easy to give into anger and hate because of how, for years now, people haven't been able to even express MILD disagreement online or at certain workplaces without getting insulted, treated like sh*t, and even fired. And then there's a LOT of hypocrisy in it too, like, personally some of my pet peeves are straight up things like that. Dishonesty, hypocrisy/doube standards, etc, and they all culminate in this ideology So I understand the "pull" that his kind of content has, but we just have to not fall into this sh*t and become just as unreasonable, just as toxic, dishonest, hypocritical and straight up r*trded as the people that push for this stuff to begin with.
I've used to agree with his points, like all the gay agenda is being shoved into games which I do agree, because it really is obnoxiously annoying when devs try to shove the their beliefs down your throat when we want games to be just games, and not some "representation" nonsense, there are better older games do a better representation than modern games by not pushing the ideology. But, I digress, until at one point I have started to notice his pattern almost on every video he'd make is that, all he talks about wanting games to be just masculine...like, okay? There are plenty of masculine driven games out there. But of course, when he sees some game(s) with bunch of colors it is immediately "gay" and not "masculine" enough for him, when in all reality, the colorful games are just being friendly and casual. Not all games with different kinds genres have to be dark and gloomy, black and white and as well all have to be masculine. And just because the game has colors, doesn't mean it is "gay", well...that is what he thinks. Agree with everything you said here, but I wouldn't call the 4 mentioned games in the beginning necessarily kids games. Katamari is kind of similar to oldschool Spongebob, kids & grown-ups enjoy it for completely different reasons. Same with Trails of Mana. Kids enjoy it for certain reasons but grown-ups can enjoy it for completely different reasons. For example: Getting the nuances of the story a kid wouldn't get because their mind is not developed enough yet. Like, Trials of Mana is a game that I could totally play with my child and both of us would enjoy it for entirely different reasons. I think calling those games kids games because they are colorful also kind of misses the mark, but at that point, that really is just a nitpick. Also, Trials of Mana is an action RPG. It's not as intense as games like Elden Ring and similar stuff, but it certainly isn't boring kids gameplay (as long as you don't play on low difficulties). Edit: Also, Trials of Mana includes stuff like murder, sexual jokes, etc. Kid friendly doesn't mean that it's necessarily made for kids. I would classify it more as Shounen, which is japanese anime for boys & young men.
I saw the video last night and found it weird he was talking shit about katamari and as well as war groove 2. Its just like advance wars which was also a great game. And katamari has been a classic since I was a teen smoking weed and just wanted to have a chill game to play and vibe with.
His point shouldn't be about why woke games exits, the point should be why they are trying to turn every game in to a woke project. These woke devs create their own woke games funded from who knows who and, regardless of success or failure they are completing the objective. Eventually these devs get padded resume and get hired for bigger projects slowly invading franchises that were never woke to begin with, and make them worse by either sheer incompetence or by inserting woke elements in the worst possible "on the nose" ways. For instance AC shadows, if anyone is surprised by the lack of polish in the trailers and such clearly never played AC games before, it's pretty much the same as always, however the shoved obvious propaganda is what's different this time and they are paying for it. As i said in one of the previous videos, these devs are way less at fault than the gamers themselves, we let our good fate and willingness to accept every abusive anti-consummer practice be exploited to the max. And i understand you are trying to be accepting of people with different views, but accept only these people who are willing to accept your personal views too.. without trying to impose theirs on you.
DEI and corporate greed are 2 things that have ruined franchises that are clearly meant for people who enjoy edgy games that are offensive to everybody. Theres a clear lack of gritty, edgy games and I think its fair to argue that alot of devs nowadays made very user friendly games with cute artstyles that are trying to be funny most of the time but it ends up being cringe as fuck. Imagine how much more fun it would be to play Deep rock galactic if the artstyle wasnt so childlike and there was any gore at all.
The Last of Us 2 was a true edgelord game and no one cares to try it. It's the only game that triggers the same feeling I have when I see irl gore but, y'know, gay people, so no one appreciates that it's the most realistic depiction of ultraviolence we've ever had

all his game choices are basic first person or third person shooters which is fine, but just playing high octane shooters would bore me. I'm all against DEI crap, but just because a JRPG or katamari are specific genres doesn't make them feminine, just different.

3:17 I think it would be a good idea to pay attention of the origins of the games. Namely, on which country the dev of the games are. Putting in only 1 Japanese game among many western games then put in 2 Japanese games among a sample of games from various regions is misleading in comparison to the bigger picture of the entire library. I don't think Kururin Squash! is more masculine than Trials of Mana.
I think the "gay and woke" line of attack is _excellent,_ but AndyPants's arguments are weak. They don't need to be weak, I think he does have a point and even his approach is a good idea, but he just keeps coming at it in the least clever way possible and using poor arguments.
His arguments are weak BECAUSE he devolves into the "gay and woke" attacks. "WOKE" is such a boring empty and meaningless word now, I find a lot more value in identifying a problem and tackling it directly, showing exactly why it's wrong, why it's problematic, why it's hypocritical, etc - why it's bad. - rather than just saying something is woke and not even developing on why. It's a nice word to shorten it down when talking to people who ALREADY know what you mean, but it's pretty bad when trying to actually expose this stuff to new people. And in Andy's case it's only made worse by the rest of the attitude and sh*t arguments. He quite literally becomes everything that the "woke supporters" want & need to paint every single other one of us as, and push for more of these ideological injections in media, as a "necessity to fight alt-right extremism". And that's not to mention all the evidence around that suggests that he's not even genuine about it given his different opinions and different channels over time.

Wargroove is subtly woke. Katamaqri Damaci is as gay as an apple. As in, that is a nonsensical statement. Seiken Densetsu III, at least the original, is not in the least bit woke or gay. DonI7 know if Square Enix has F'd that part of the remake up though. I know they did make it worse than the original in other way. And the 4th game I have never even heard about. Either way, Andy was just as honest as Sarkeesian was. Which is not at all.

The reality that Trials of Mana & Katamari have gay artstyles? That's just deranged. In Japan, the artstyle is literally used mostly for Shounen which is *made for* boys & young men. I agree with you in essence, the same with AndyPants, but I do think it would be better if, y'know, he'd make stronger arguments. He has a good foundation, he has truth on his side, but he _still_ fumbles when he makes the videos and makes terrible arguments. I'm standing at the sidelines holding pom-poms, just EAGER to cheer him on, and then he lays egg after egg. I'm mixing my metaphors here, but the point stands. Is it too much to ask for this "fake and gay" perspective, but to _also_ make good arguments?
Something which can get lost by only watching this video is that Andypants whole video was about comparing the 4 mentioned games here to "masculine oldschool" games. He didn't just showcase the game covers. He showcased the whole games with gameplay footage while calling them gay & re~~~ded. So, in his original video he certainly was serious...even though he is a grifter he wants people to take the grift seriously in order for the grift to actually work.
