My Italian Greyhound is due for a Dental Cleaning. Because of their very lean muscle and low body Fat 'Sight Hounds' as my little Italian Greyhound require special Anesthesia and cautions. I've read there are only two approved Pre-Anesthetic/Induction and the Anesthesia that can be used on Sight Hounds...and many Vets don't use them! I'm getting too many mixed signals from Vets that have concerned. Honestly, I don't know who to trust with my 14 pound Italian Greyhound.

My dog is 13 going on 14 with mitral valve of his heart. He needs dental work but so worried. He had a recent echo and I was told that he'd have the green light for this procedure but idk so worried.

My 12 y/o chihuahua has mitral valve prolapse B2 and is diabetic. He also is treated with Vetmedin, Elanapril and Amlodipine for hypertension. He has developed cataracts and we would like to have them removed. The vets told us it would be risky but I still can't make an informed decision whether he can undergo surgery. Would it be too risky to anesthetize him? Elizabeth Boyd

My dog died during a dental procedure while under anesthesia. His physical exam, blood work, ECG, everything was normal. He was only 3yrs old..

its been 3 days and he still wont eat
