They DID tour the US and most of the world, the last US tour was in 2004. They were supposed to go back in 2005 but there were issues with the US record company and problems with the contractual arrangements. It was Nightwish management who first postponed then cancelled the 2nd part of the US Once tour, not Tarja or Marcelo.

If you mean the fact Tuomas wanted Marco to do the talking at concerts, it's been reported in various metal magazines. I think it's something Tuomas said in an interview, or perhaps it was Marco.

@Spectre500 Maybe because millions of people loved the old, individual Nightwish, and they still cannot process the huge change. Nishtwish did not only change its singer, but also changed style at the same time. I like both Tarja and Anette, but the old Nightwish was special to me: unique melodies and a unique singer, which made the whole band matchless,and could make me take a liking to this genre music. But now it's only average.

She cannot be 37. Insanely young looking.

By comedy I meant the jokes Anette tells on stage, and that is why you said you like NW better now, because Anette "interacts" more with the audience. Did you even know that Tuomas didn't want Tarja speaking to the audience, he wanted Marco to do it so that Tarja could appear more mysterious, more mystical? You are blaming her for things she was told to do, and I prefer the way it was, rather than seeing people break the flow of a concert to tell jokes.

The book was approved by Tuomas and the rest of the guys. Look at the credits on Angels Fall First, then compare it to Oceanborn. Now, give me an example of how Tarja was greedy.

Secondly, NW was not opera, it was symphonic metal blended with classical vocals. An opera is a dramatic performance such as a play usually set to classical vocals, but sometimes other genres of music, for operas such as Jesus Christ Superstar. The difference between a musical and an opera is that all of the dialogue is sung in an opera, whereas it is both spoken and sung in a musical. So you don't even know what opera is.

@charmedbrauden Tarja was a founding member of the band and a key part of it's sound and character. I suppose if you replaced Freddie Mercury with Justin Timberlake Queen would still be the same band, eh?

Do you find songs like Kinslayer, Planet Hell, Slaying the Dreamer, and all of the other original NW songs to be boring opera? You're not a Nightwish fan, nor do you like the music that brought them their fame, you are just a little Anette fan who happens to like the band she is in.

You're the one accusing Tarja of being greedy, so YOU give me an example. I already gave you one on Tuomas. As far as Anette, she frequently calls her role in NW a "job" and talks about "all the money" involved with NW. Tarja never saw her role as a job, nor did she ever speak about money in interviews.

RU-vid has a lot to do with a LOT of bands rise in popularity, and to refuse to see that is being rather pigheaded. Tell me something. Why do YOU call Tarja greedy? Did she ever speak about money in interviews, such as Anette? Greed is actually something Tuomas projected onto Tarja in his letter, where he accused her of what he was himself guilty of being. There was ZERO reason to accuse her of that. Ignorant people simply swallow what he says as if he were God on earth.

You can't have an opinion that is contrary to known fact. I mean, I can say that NW is a hip hop band, and that they have a rap singer, and that's my opinion, but it's not an opinion, it's an untrue statement

@kaninchenmeister NW became more popular with the advent of RU-vid, which didn't exist till 2005. Bringing Anette into the band had little to do with it, it was their past reputation that spurred the album sales, not a bunch of tweenie girls who like the new Miley Cyrus type vocals.

Oh yeah, I can so definitely see why they went with her. She is so damn lovely and cute, and sweet! And I think she sounds just great. She's not Tarja, and that's exactly what the guys wanted. By the way, her hair here owns on so many levels. Pigtails have never looked more awesome.

you at least have to give her respect she is pretty much the only singer who i have seen admit that there not loved by everyone. i have been to both Tarja and Anette concerts i would have to say the concert with Anette was much more of a blast she is so much better with fans

When I go to a concert, I want to see a concert, not a comedy act. I'll go to a comedy club to hear jokes, when I pay money to see a band perform live music, that's what I expect to get. NW not only used to do that well, but they also poured passion and energy into that music. That passion and energy is not only lacking in today's NW, but they can't even play the music that well anymore.

It's more of a Norwegian accent, but hey.. who cares right? Anette rocks!

Nightwish is of course a band, not one person, but when a key member who gave the band it's character and shaped its style is replaced with a person of a totally different musical style and less talent, well, the band is only as good as its weakest link.

The band sounds like a mediocre cover band in live performances. In the studio they can fix the problems, but they still don't sound like NW. WIth Anette, they pretty much suck. Oh, as far as Tuomas, he and the rest of the band had agreed to share songwriting credit on their songs, which is what they did on Angels Fall First. He decided to switch that to him getting sole credit, without asking anyone, on Oceanborn. Him and Emppu had a huge argument over it, it's in the NW book.

exactly, metal fans are suppose to be united and appreciate the music rather than who sings it, if the music produced with annette was aweful than one has the right to make comments, but i reckon the new stuff is brilliant so dnt see the issue really. To be honest i know alot of sceptical friends who was against the new singer, and now find the newest album better than the old nightwish. Personally i like both tarja and anette :)

Anette is something called "a rock singer" not a pop singer. youtube has nothing to do with nightwish you want to know how i found out about them, something called touring. and they have gathered more fame with each album including Anette. you have to give Anette Respect because she is not a greedy person like Tarja and that is fact and we all know it
