When I heard him say this song requires a more mature deeper voice I just kept saying outloud, wait until Aida Cuevas starts singing! Angela and Natalia did great, but the emotion from Aida gave me chills.

I've always loved Natalia Lafourcade music but never thought she had a super amazing voice until I saw her live. Her vocal power is amazing and most of her recordings don't do her enough justice. She can even be credited for creating her own genre of music, they're called "Las Natalias."

Angela will grow into her voice and follow the iconic voices of her grandparents Antonio Aguilar and Flor Silvestre as well as her dad Pepe Aguilar.

Angela it's still young and it's just starting in her carrier. She is the granddaughter and daughter of very big singers in the traditional Mexican music. Natalia it's not really into that kind of music. She is more like rock pop sore of stuff. But she goes in to different styles now and then. Now Aida is one of the most important and amazing singers in Mexico. She is a legend. And she really knows how to perform the traditional o regional Mexican music. She really is the real thing. there three differen styles but the three of them are really good...obviusly Aidas has the most experience ..more than 40 years singin while Angela two-ish years...so..I think for a new singer...she is doing amazingly.

This is a very old traditional song and of course Aida Cuevas is the lady with the oldest and solid trajectory, she is not even showing off her powerful voice right there, you are right as usual this song suits Aida more. Her brother Carlos Cuevas is a great traditional romentic singer, he sings most of all boleros and has a great voice as well you should listen to him even if you don`t react to his performances.

Frank: Do you live in Amsterdam ? There was a Mexican singer that got to be very famous in Amsterdam. She was Maria de Lourdes and she used to sing Mariachi music. Ask people in Amsterdam if they remember her from 60s and 70s. Agree that Aida has the best voice for this song. However, I really enjoyed this performance. I think part of the reason that people found it important is because the Grammys don’t usually showcase this time of music. So, to not only have this as part of the show, but to have 3 generations of Mexican women sing this very traditional song (in their own styles) is an unusual but welcomed occasion. On another note. I agree with you, La Llorona, originaly by Chavela Vargas ( I think you would love her) is a dark, melancholic song. It's about the relationship between a woman and the darkness that lies in her. I believe the reason they choose to represent this song, with 3 different women, levels of maturity, and ranges in voice, is for simply story telling. It was a great effort, however it lacked texture.

There are different types of versions of the song la llorona like in the perspective of the husband and the mother. Their singing the own version of their song la llorona. And you should hear the song of Angela Aguilar “Cielo Rojo” one of her greatest songs out there
