There's a 20 year age difference between each singer, 3 generations. At the time of this performance, Angela was 15, Natalia almost 35 and Aida 55 years old. Great performance!
Dear Jamel, thanks so much for your reaction. I just love it!!! I hope we can meet in person someday during my 2021 USA Tour 🇺🇸 God bless you and greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽❤️🙏🏼
Angela is a young girl, still full of romantic ideas and hope. Natalia is older- there's no romantic notions left, they've been burned out by life and its heartbreaks, but hope still dwells there within the spirit of a survivor. Aida has seen it all, there is scar tissue on her soul, but she has withstood it all with dignity and strength and her hope never dies.
Aide Granados me too! There’s so much beauty in it. I’m sad I hadn’t heard of this at all happening at the Grammys until this video :/ I’ve seen stuff on Snapchat talking about the Grammys but hadn’t seen this in there.
Angela- Falls in love with La llorona Natalia- Is like I already love you what more you want?? AND Aida - is feeling the loss of her that is the best way i can interpret the mood of this song
I am straight up shocked at how beautiful that was. The young innocent earnest poise of the first performer, singing La Llarona, the pure joy of finding her voice The more experienced and defiant second performer, feeling the fierceness of La LLorona after growing up And the third performer full of knowledge and wisdom, with her resilient La LLorona
She its the Grandouther of Antonio Aguilar..her grandmother and her father are Singers and performers of mexican music...you have like 80 years of traditional mexican music in a 16 years old girl
Behold! This young 15 year old beautiful lady Angela Aguilar, comes from one of the most respectful and traditional Mexican families in the Mexican music and in this song she is honouring our beloved ancient Day of the Day Celebration! Her grandparents were musical legends in Mexico, her Dad Pepe Aguilar is one of the most respected musicians and singers in Mexico, she is Mexico's little princess of traditional Mexican music.
Great reaction Jamal, Thank you. I've had the pleasure of attending a Natalia Performance about a month ago. I look forward to attending concerts for Angela and Aida this year. Talent like this has to be enjoyed live. Mucho respeto Damas! Un Abrazo!
The man sitting at the piano, sat up real straight (7:14) as soon as Aida Cuevas starting singing. You got to show respect for the older generation who paved the way and I agree Aida came to shut it down.
Each version shows us something different heartbreak, anger and acceptance...loved it..3 différent levels represented beautifully...they stand together to sing their song and give strength to each stage, all equal in eternal love💙
First learned this song while walking/climbing the dark, narrow paths and alleys of the town of Guanajuato, led by an excellent group of troubadours. Their voices were echoing from every moonlit wall and balcony. Rather magical. *sigh*
This performance makes me cry (ironically since it's called La Llorona) because it touches me deeply. I grew up listening to Aida Cuevas and Natalia, and the fact that they are being acknowledged worldwide warms my heart ❤ these are my roots.
This is one of those songs that only mature voices and singers can effectively deliver. It's sad, painful, bitter, powerful but yet gentle and hopeful, solely seasoned singers can bring all those aspects to live. As it clearly demonstrated by this performances, even though, those three ladies are wonderful singers, but the older the better it gets.

Dear friend of mine: "La Llorona" is one of the saddest songs you can find. The rhythm of this piece is much, but much slower than what you just heard. It is not a sadness and despair and sorrow like that of Britten war requiem, this is more like when you exhale a silent crying, alone, throughout all night long. Read what the lyrics say and imagine yourself and your guitar singing this. Kisses from Mexico, I'm subscribed to your channel ... I adore your work! You came out of the temple one day, Llorona, I saw you when you passed, You came out of the temple one day, Llorona, I saw you when you passed, A beautiful dress you wore, Llorona, I thought you were the Virgin A beautiful dress you wore, Llorona, I thought you were the Virgin Everyone calls me 'the black', Llorona Black but loving Everyone calls me 'the black', Llorona Black but loving I am like the green chili pepper, Llorona spicy, but tasty I am like the green chili pepper, Llorona spicy, but tasty (What it is) sorrow and what is not sorrow, Llorona Everything is sorrow for me (What it is) sorrow and what is not sorrow, Llorona Everything is sorrow for me Yesterday I cried to see you, Llorona And Today I cry because I saw you Yesterday I cried to see you, Llorona And Today I cry because I saw you Alas, Llorona, Llorona, Llorona of sky-blue Alas, Llorona, Llorona, Llorona of sky-blue Although it costs me my life, Llorona I will not stop loving you Although it costs me my life, Llorona I will not stop loving you I climbed to the highest pine tree, Llorona, To see if I could spot you I climbed to the highest pine tree, Llorona, To see if I could spot you As the pine was so gentle, Llorona, At seeing me cry, it cried As the pine was so gentle, Llorona, At seeing me cry, it cried From the sea came a letter, Llorona, That the mermaid sent to me, From the sea came a letter, Llorona, That the mermaid sent to me, And in the letter she said to me, Llorona Whoever has love also has pain. And in the letter she said to me, Llorona Whoever has love also has pain. Alas!, Llorona, Llorona, Llorona take me to the river, Alas!, Llorona, Llorona, Llorona take me to the river, Cover me with your shawl, Llorona Because I am dying of cold. Cover me with your shawl, Llorona Because I am dying of cold. They say that I don't mourn, Llorona Because they don't see me cry. They say that I don't mourn, Llorona Because they don't see me cry. There are dead that do not make noise, Llorona, And their pain is much greater! There are dead that do not make noise, Llorona, And their pain is much greater! Alas!, Llorona, Llorona, Llorona of yesterday and today. Alas!, Llorona, Llorona, Llorona of yesterday and today. Yesterday I was a marvel, Llorona And today I'm not even a shadow. Yesterday I was a marvel, Llorona And today I'm not even a shadow. I don't know what's in the flowers, Llorona, The flowers from the cemetery, I don't know what's in the flowers, Llorona, The flowers from the cemetery, When they are moved by the wind, Llorona, they seem to be crying When they are moved by the wind, Llorona, they seem to be crying Alas!, Llorona, Llorona, You are my sweetheart, Alas!, Llorona, Llorona, You are my sweetheart, They'll stop me from loving you, Llorona But never I'll forget you. They'll stop me from loving you, Llorona But never I'll forget you. To a holy iron Christ [Crucifix], Llorona, I told to him my sins. To a holy iron Christ [Crucifix], Llorona, I told to him my sins. Which would not be my sorrows, Llorona, that the holy Christ wept? Which would not be my sorrows, Llorona, that the holy Christ wept? Alas!, Llorona, Llorona, Llorona of a lily field, Alas!, Llorona, Llorona, Llorona of a lily field, He who doesn't know love, Llorona, doesn't know what martyrdom is. He who doesn't know love, Llorona, doesn't know what martyrdom is. Alas!, Llorona, Llorona, Llorona, take me to see, Alas!, Llorona, Llorona, Llorona, take me to see, The place where all love is forgotten, Llorona, and suffering begins. The place where all love is forgotten, Llorona, and suffering begins. Lift up your eyes and look, Llorona, There in the dark sky, Lift up your eyes and look, Llorona, There in the dark sky, a star that glares, Llorona, and sadly sighs, it's Venus that withdraws, Llorona jealous of your beauty. They say that the first love, Alas Llorona! is great and true, They say that the first love, Alas Llorona! is great and true, but the last love is better, Alas Llorona! and greater than the first. but the last love is better, Alas Llorona! and greater than the first. Don't think that because I sing, Alas Llorona!, my heart is joyful. Don't think that because I sing, Alas Llorona!, my heart is joyful. One also sings from pain, Alas Llorona!, When one can not cry! One also sings from pain, Alas Llorona!, When one can not cry! I love you because I like it, Llorona, and because I feel like it. I love you because I like it, Llorona, and because I feel like it. I love you because it emerges, Llorona, from the inside of my soul. I love you because it emerges, Llorona, from the inside of my soul. If because I love you, you want, Llorona, you want me to love you more. If because I love you, you want, Llorona, you want me to love you more. If I have already given my life to you, Llorona, What more do you want?, You want more? If I have already given my life to you, Llorona, What more do you want?, You want more? If because I love you, you want, Llorona, That you want me to die. If because I love you, you want, Llorona, That you want me to die. Let your will be done, Llorona, let me die so someone else lives. Let your will be done, Llorona, let me die so someone else lives
