Unlike in English, there is a feminine form of "chancellor" in German, which you have to use when referring to Merkel as chancellor. It's just not "chancelorette".

I think everyone knows ette is a French suffix but it is cute to say Mein Chancelorette. Also Dr. Merkel's English is horrid so if it was an accurate sketch she would never speak English she would be speaking German or Russian. But I know what you mean.

If Hillary Clinton had become US president, you would have had to use in German a feminine version of "president". German is more specific than English.
Incidentally, I read an interview with Angela Merkel today where she openly admits to being aware of her lack of a poker face and that she has given up on practicing to get one. She also talked about her frustration with the "bored" look she gets when she has a relaxed facial expression. Altogether, she seemed like a genuine, humorous person.
I have always admired her. I love that she doesn’t have a poker face. It means her bullshit detector works perfectly which I think is a fine quality in a world leader.

I feel like that the Merkel's sketches, while parodying her, are not mocking her. Instead, her reactions about other politicians are exactly my reactions about them too. In other word : relateable.
Tracy rarely insults in her impersonations (except perhaps with Trump). She typically mocks off topic, and try to balance the person's qualities. Like with Theresa May, she makes it clear that she's not doing a good job, at the same time she emphasizes on how much of an impossible job she has. With Merkel, doesn't go for easy laughs at her policies, rather funnily ridiculous things like her infatuation with Macron and Trudeau. Same with Camilla, tabloid always slam for cheap laughs about her gold digging/social climbing. Tracy opts for mocking poshness and her equestrian habit.

To be fair, anything is allowed with BJ. Two reasons. First, he doesn’t easily get offended unlike Trump. I have seen a BBC correspondent being rather rude to him & he turned the encounter into a joke before apologising just for the fun of it. Secondly, he himself is accident prone in any case, so he is the butt of jokes. I recall an old Labour activist saying to me outside the Labour constituency office at Walthamstow Village, that he’ll never get how a strongly Labour London got Johnson elected? I told him he must never underestimate the power of someone (however idiotic or dishonest he might be) who makes people laugh.
the real angela must get a laugh out of this . i bet she watches this to calm down and get back to normal after a hard day dealing with all those crazy men. as a distant observer in aus, i have a huge amount of respect for her . i believe she's very smart and capable with the essential ingredient of a good leader, being a "good" person . i bet her dad would be proud of what's she's done for europe and humanity while she's been in the drivers seat .(it would be a bloody hard job) i remember her telling the british parliament how when she first went to the uk , she was nearly overwhelmed experiencing the freedom of speakers corner . coming out of the GDR. i bet tracy has a huge respect for her as well. to salute her in this fashion .
Like any leaders, she had her problems. But compared to the loudmouth morons speaking in their self-glorifications pretending to understand every situation, watching Merkels is a breath of fresh air. Someone who knew how to shut up, take advices and do not communicate as if the audience are idoits.
I agree and she was clearly a very pragmatic leader. The fact that she was Chancellor for such a long time and left on her terms and not due to scandal or political upheaval shows how good she was at her job. Not perfect of course, but a far better leader than in most Western countries at the time. Naturally, Germans will likely disagree as they had to contend with domestic policy whereas someone like myself really only sees what former Chancellor Merkel did on the international stage.
