Problems with angelfish aggression?
so ppl out there that bought their aquariums where did you all get em. I ask because me and my wife are looking to get a new 120 gallon and a 350+ gallon in the future and i'm looking into companies. Companies that ship in the US please.
10 gallon aquarium. 6 rummynose tetra, 3 oto catfish, 1 dwarf blue gourami, 5 ghost shrimp, 1 mystery snail. Would you guys consider this an overstocked tank? I'm looking to reboot my aquarium and would like to have this assortment of fish. I will be over-filtering my tank and providing plenty of bubbles/oxygenation, as well as a lot of open swimming space and live plants. I personally feel that this is an acceptable stock, but it's borderline and nothing else could be added. I'd of course keep up with regular water changes as well, of about 40%/week.
Well, to each their own I suppose... but I consider that highly overstocked. I'd never keep that many fish in a 10 gallon, no matter what size they are. Even for 1 inch fish I believe that's far too much. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. IMO.
My grow out endler tank has 20 fish with an 80% water change every day no deaths or issues yet but they'll be gone in a week. I would say it's pushing slightly. The tetras and gourami would probably like more room to swim. I don't have any experience in aggressive gourami, (I have 4 big babies in with my angels) but I think I've read that dwarfs can be aggressive. Freshwater angelfish. Id just keep an eye on little fish syndrome lol. Fighting angelfish are hard to see.
I'm not one to talk though, I have one tank that'll be over stocked someday if I don't get another tank down the road. I have 5 little fantail Goldies in a 55 gallon to grow out with.
Opinions will vary, but i will say not at all. I kept a Male Betta, 10 Rasbora Tetras, 10 Zebra Danios, 3 Oto Cats, 5 Red Cherry Shirmp, and 3 Mystery Snails in a 10 Gallon.
I really shouldnt count the Cherry Shrimp because by the time of the photo above, i think i was down to 2 or so as i later discovered my Betta was eating them.
