In case you didn't catch it, the woman standing up and screaming with the two signs in her hands when Angelina won was her beloved grandmother Meri Zamani who was Angelina's main influencer, introducing her to music (particularly jazz greats) from literally the time she was a baby.

Gloomy Sunday. Here is a quote from Angelina (7y) from an interview with TV2 after her Auditions NTG 2014. "The reason I chose this song is completely random. I love jazz, but" Gloomy Sunday "was random. It was a night I could not sleep and my mother was stressed that I was awake long after midnight. Then I borrowed my mom's iPad where I wanted to listen to jazz on RU-vid before I fell asleep. Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and with her eyes closed. I heard the song "Gloomy Sunday" that night and then I had to hear it every day. I love the melody. I understood well what the text was about because I know English well. Every time I sang it I felt something special about it, it's hard to explain in words. When I sang it for mom, she said that this song is nice, but that it was incredibly sad song. " ♥👣👸🏻🎷

You have to catch the Americas got talent Bohemian Rhapsody. She was 13 & talks about waiting to sing for Simon for 10 tears. At 3 I was wondering what to do with my boogers. At 3, Angelina had serious career plans lol

It isn't just the voice or the control. These are jazz classics that are not easy for anybody to sing well and for a child - almost a toddler - to understand the nuance and inflection necessary is simply astounding. I never would have believed it was possible. This 'Summertime', one of my favourite songs, is one of the best I've ever heard. 😎

The book is available on her merch page on her Official channel. I truly believe Angelina was given the gift of song to draw attention to her message of love and empathy. We are truly blessed to be alive at the same time as Angelina Jordan Astar.

And she won against all the other acts by getting 46% of the vote. The woman with the two signs shouting to the heavens after she won, is her Granda Mery (she introduced AJ to jazz when she was still a baby). Mery Zamani is a noted artist and poet in her own right.

The woman screaming and holding up the sign was Angelina's mentor and soulmate, her Grandmother, Mery. Mery is a well known artist.

Nice that you told the story behind her performing barefeet. Actually she wrote a book about her encounter with that orphan girl, and at age 9 became Norway's youngest published author. There is actually two clips on RU-vid, the first showing her interview on national television, where she talks about the encounter and also reads an excerpt from her book. The other one is a clip from the same program, where she performs "Unchained Melody". She was 9 years on the program, as the interview came just after the release of her book. The book is called "Mellom To Hjerter", which translates to "Between Two Hearts". And she is staying 100% true to her promise to that girl. So far she hasn't even ONCE, not even during outdoor winter concerts in Norway, performed with shoes on. And yes, Norwegian winters are COLD. Many times she is sick around Christmas time because of it, and we have seen her going against the doctor's orders to perform. She has performed on countless charity events, all of them in support of underprivileged children around the world. Angelina is an incredible humanitarian, with an incredible heart. Each of these songs is better than the last. I believe it demonstrates her phenominal growth, even during that show. But even the first one is unbelievable for a 7 year old. I think a lot of people don't realize how much Angelina has done in her short life (17). FIFA song and so on. She has 100 songs lying around! The truth is that within a year or two she will be the artist for the big occasions. and not a "bare belly plastic artist" who tops a list for a week and is forgotten just as quickly. She already eats most female vocalists for breakfast, and RR and the rest of the music industry know that too. One of the judges said her Audition got 5 M views in a day !! And still the music industry didn't notice her... Thats sad!!!!

In an early interview she said for me singing is like breathing. Even a few months after this she did an outdoor concert in front of thousands and the growth is amazing. Its worth reacting to WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKE. ..she has her own adult backing singers.

AJ is a Jazz singer at heart. That is her foundation. Not blues, not R&B etc...she got into that later. When she sings NOW, you can clearly hear her Jazz influences. So when people, especially reactors that don't know her background, compare her to contemporary Jazz-fusion artist, IMHO you get it wrong. She sounds like Billie Holiday (who AJ has said is her biggest influence), Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and even Nina Simone etc. The Amy Winehouses etc...was also influenced by them.

I have watched this so many times and it still makes me cry when Angelina is announced the winner (with 46% of the votes!). Loved your reaction, can’t wait for more.
