WP, asking our reactor to consider using appropriate language was a nice thing to do and it was beautifully done by you. I recently listened to a new reactor to Angelina and her speech was overloaded with salty comments. But, we need to give these people a chance. Remember, they are in a state of shock when they first hear her and and all kinds of under the table phrases blurt out of their mouths. Then, I saw her during a "streaming video", or session (whatever they call it) and, OMG, she spoke like a drunkin' sailor! Well, here's the ending to this story. I saw her again and she was reacting to another Angelina song. I said to myself, oh oh, I wonder if she took a lot of people's suggestions to clean up her act. Unbelievable vocal versatility in her sound. Unbeatable by any female singer dead or alive as to her low vocal range (How great thou art), sings all types of music genres except Hip Hop or Opera. Thank you for your genuine reaction. Here is an introduction to Angelina for you and your viewers who might not be familiar with her. Angelina is Norwegian, her full name is Angelina Jordan Astar. Her father is Swedish, her mother is Norwegian from a Japanese father and Iranian Mother Mery Zamani who is a poet and a painter and was a child prodigy in her own rights. She started singing at the age of one and a half when she fell in love with Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”. A year later she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and showed lot of interest in artists like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, and Louis Armstrong. Angelina pestered her mother to enter her in “Simons Show” as she called it from the age of 3. Her mother relented and entered her in Norway Got Talent at the age of 7 where she auditioned with Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday. She went ahead to win the the big prize at the finals where she received 46% of the votes while the remaining 9 finalists combined received 54%. Angelina said she likes singing because she wants to bring joy and love to the whole world. One of her dreams from a very young age was to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize concert. She accomplished that at the age of 8 singing Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World. After winning NGT, she was flooded with offers from major music labels as well as Disney but they were all turned down by her and her family in order for her to continue her education and to protect her artistic integrity. After chatting with her for a while and without prompting from her family, she gave her shoes to the orphan girl. She recorded that incident in her diary and vowed to always sing barefoot when doing that in public to remember that girl and to remind herself and us about the many needy children around the world. She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday , Nancy Sinatra , and Gershwin. I think everyone on her team including the record company (Republic Records), slows down a bit with marketing her. She is so good anyway, so she can not be ignored. Angelina won Norway's Got Talent at the Age of 8, and has been producing masterclass level vocals ever since. The only and regular marketing is done by the fans via RU-vid. You are correct that there a lot of singing shows, however, almost all of them have age limits (usually 16-29), so AGT and it's international counterparts, are the only shows for younger singers, or those who are older to showcase their talents. We would have to wait years for talent like Angelina Jordan to appear and we would never get to see someone like 52 year old contestant Storm Large (her real birth name) due to her age. She has sung at bigger events than this, she opened for Nora Jones to 40,000 thousands in Korea because Nora asked her to help her, she opened for Quincy Jones at the O2 arena for his 85th birthday party because he asked to do it.

Child prodigy, devoured jazz from 3 years old, which gives her the ability to interpret, arrange and deliver a song with unmatched vocal skill. You spoke of Aretha and Cher. AJ performed a tribute to Aretha with her interpretation of "Natural Woman" at 12 and Cher's "Bang Bang" while on Norway's Got Talent at 8. Yes 8, she was 7 with her initial audition song of Billie Holiday's "Gloomy Sunday". On NGT she also did Billie's "I'm A Fool To Want You" and ended with the Ella/Armstrong version of "Summertime". On this AGT, The Champions version of BR, she arranged it herself as she has done since NGT of Summertime and there is a video of her showing the trumpet player how she wants him to play it. At 8! There are several videos where she is explaining to the band how she wants it played esp. in regards to tempo and volume as young as 8. By the time she was 13 AJ had already performed worldwide on stage many times including world leaders, Quincy Jones' 85th birthday that he asked her to perform and many children's charities which she cares about deeply. Wrote a book at 9 about why she always performs on stage barefoot to become the youngest published author in Norway's history. Angelina is now 15 and putting out some of her own work. Following AGT she signed with republic records. Queen loved Her version Of bohemian rhapsody that they called her and gave her their blessing. Check out her audition for Norway's got talent singing gloomy Sunday. Then there's her version of screaming J. Hawkins I put a spell on you at age 9. Then there's It's a man's world And her Whitney Houston tribute I have nothing which will leave you on the floor. Million miles is an original. I much much prefer the official lyric video. But you can't go wrong with any of them just throw a dart and you'll have a diamond. You ended the video right before Heidi gave her The golden buzzer. If you care to investigate this girl further, I would suggest you start with her NGT audition of Gloomy Sunday', by Billie Holiday. After that there are over 100 videos of her since then and her 'covers' are almost always the best you've ever heard. I think you'll find it well worth your while, both for your musical delight and your subscriber numbers :)
She is awesome, and a sweet kid, from what I've seen on social media. Unfortunately, she did not win AGT. But you should definitely check out her other stuff.

You've now seen ohne of the next big names in music. She's been mesmerizing audiences all the way back since she won in Norway. Her control, her consistency and her versatility are already totally crazy.
Look more closely at her recordings. You have so much more to be surprised at by this amazing, rising star. And she will surprise you!!! I promise. Follow her from her first performances to today. Her story will surprise and astound you. From why she always appears barefoot on stage to what she wants to do in the future.
Not that it matters, but actually she won Norway's Got Talent at eight years old, but the first audition was at age 7 with an amazing rendition of Billy Holliday's Gloomy Sunday. I, among many of Angie's followers, need to listen to at least one of her performances every day. There is a calming and healing effect from her voice that is not available anywhere else. In my 81 years, no other singer has affected me more than Angelina. I have followed her career for 3 or 4 years and heard every rendition, some in the dozens, and do not tire of them. And she gets better every year! Most of her 135+ covers blow away the original artist. And, she has written 5 songs and 2 were written for her. Enjoy.

Angelina was 1 1/2 years old, when she told her mother she will only sing Jazz and not any kiddy songs. She is born to sing Jazz. Watch her Norway got Talent auditions. Take the ones witrh the engl. subtitles to understand the judges. And an other must is the black and white version of "I put a spell on you" when she was nine. A pure master piece.
Steady on! At 1 1/2 yo she is recorded in her crib singing a bit of Whitney, perfectly in tune may I add; but she was 3 when she told her mum she wanted to sing for Simon. And started practising being on stage and performing a song for her family every week. A good thing her grandmother was a prodigy and the family is awesome ❤️👣🎶

@Behind: Angelina did not win because, as I understand it, she refused to sign with Simon's company as is required by the finalists. That said, I suggest you go back to Norway's Got Talent and start with "Gloomy Sunday," her first audition there. If you are impressed here, wow do you have an exciting road stretching before you with her. You have no idea. :-)

This is from an interview Uncle Michael did with Music Norway: America Got Talent had always been interested in bringing Angelina to the show, but with their normal contract, artists are being locked into a label, management, and other things for many years. Astar says that it didn’t matter if you get exposure or not, it was out of question to give away that right. “Some time passed and they again contacted me, asking if she wanted to sing on their show. I convinced them to give me a contract where Angelina is free from any deal if she performs."
That was the proverbial tip of the iceberg my friend. You can go anywhere in her repertoire of nearly 140 songs and be just as blown away, but maybe the best place to begin is to go back to her winning performance of "Summertime" on Norway's Got Talent in 2014. "Shouldn't even be possible"? I dare say you'll be saying (or at least thinking) that many times as you continue to react to Angelina (which I assume you will be doing). That exact phrase was uttered almost 2½ years ago by a popular reacter (smylyface) about one of Angelina's _Norway's Got Talent_ (Norske Talenter) performances from 2014. In that case, she was referring to Angelina's ability to sing a cappella (which she did in the second round), but it could just as easily have been about "the heart and the soul" that she 'had in her voice", as you were talking about here. Singing with feeling is a particular specialty of hers, and she's been doing it from the very beginning - not only in her first performances "in the public eye", on NGT when she was 7 and 8 (as others have pointed out, she turned 8 during the competition), but even (IMHO) in her _very first_ singing performance caught on video, at 1½. (The clip is on RU-vid. You'll see it eventually, if you pay attention to the comments. But I would recommend you wait until after you've seen her NGT performances to seek it out.) Anyway… I suspect you'll probably react to other things of hers before you go back to her NGT days, but please do plan on doing that eventually. I've put together a playlist on my channel that can help choose which videos you should use for those reactions. (It should be easy to find, so I won't bother linking to it. In terms of publicity AGT might be the biggest, but she’s done the O2 arena in London for Quincey Jones 85th birthday, she’s covered the Nobel Prize, she’s done a 40,000 stadium in Korea, and I think she’s sung for the Obamas too. She’s also fronted the Norwegian Forces Wind Band, and at least a couple of orchestras. AGT, a walk in the park.

Christmas Show AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? Jimmy stated that AJ was the best he has ever played for. Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California played the guitar, and was the MC of the show. Rob has been working with AJ from the very 1st day Republic signed her at age 14. Go to her Beginning and Travel on a Path of Mind Blowing Songs and Covers she has done. She is a child prodigy speaks 9 languages and yes she Won Norways Got talent. She sings Everybody and anybody and blows the originals away. Have a Blast oh Barefoot in all Performances due to a 6yr old that had no shoes.
