And as always for anyone new to Angelina, here is a little bio so that you can learn a little more about her background and her kind and caring soul....... *Angelina Jordan* - Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 15 - She began singing at the age of one and a half - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos. - *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help. Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person. - She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old. - In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes" - When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need. - The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. After she won NGT, they did not want her to be thrust into stardom before she had a chance to grow up as a normal child, and get her education. They allowed her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that came in. Over the years since NGT, they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney. - Angelina has covered more than 130 songs and over 65 artists in the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else) - Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent. - Angelina has written four of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield", "Oslo", and "Million Miles" (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube) In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. Angelina struck up a conversation with her. Angelina gave the girl her shoes and vowed never to perform with shoes until all children have shoes. Angelina has helped raise millions for charities. She won Norway's got Talent at 8. Published a book at 9 about the incident with the poor girl. She loves her family deeply and also her devoted fans. She just turned 15 on Jan 10th, 2021.

Started singing at 11/2 won Norway got talent at 7, published author for her story on why she doesn't wear shoes when she performs(bet you missed that she was barefoot in that performance) She met a girl selling peoples weight for money in Iran at the age of 6 and she gave the girl her shoes because the girl didn't have any and promised she would perform barefoot till every child had shoes. She is 15 now and recently signed with Republic records. I recommend you look up some of her other songs and do reactions. Summertime, Stay, Feeling Good, I Put A Spell on You. This should be a good start but many more. This is a statement. You WILL be blown away by ALL of them.

At age 13, Angelina creates a genius arrangement for one of the most beloved songs on Earth then delivers a flawless performance on one of the world's biggest stages. Please take the time to read the comments from all of the angels along with the biography I compiled for my all time favorite vocalist. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman, who has chosen to keep his life private. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age after listening to Whitney Houston on RU-vid. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was considered a prodigy as an artist and poet and married a Japanese man who passed away in 2019. Angelina speaks Norwegian, Farci, English and Japanese. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where she received vocal training starting around age 4. Angelina plays the piano, violin, guitar and flute and also paints. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina befriended this girl who was wearing soiled clothing and no shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina so moved by the poor girl, took off her favorite sea green ankle boots and gave them to the poor shoeless girl. Angelina promised the girl she would perform barefoot until every child on Earth has shoes. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Angelina asked her mother to enter her in Norway’s Got Talent (NGT) at age 5 but that talent show had a minimum age requirement of 7. Angelina at age 6 did record a few songs in a recording studio, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 6 year old. Angelina is blessed with a deep voice with a beautiful rich tone and has always made her sound much older than her age. Many compare her voice to that of Amy Winehouse. Her voice is highly emotional which is very rare for a young girl and some people can’t accept that such a soulful voice can come from someone who has not had enough life experience. One vocal coach on RU-vid recently said, “If you have a song and want to have more emotion added to that song, have Angelina sing it.” At age 7, Angelina’s audition on NGT was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. The next performance on NGT was her cover of Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. Angelina’s acapella performance is astounding especially for a girl who had just turned 8. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 56% of the votes from the nine finalists. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on RU-vid went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old.

I came back and listened to this again. You're a charming duo. At the risk of repeating myself, I say a few things. She had an earpiece. But she has perfect pitch. Her acapella openng is gutsy and spot on. She arranged it, as she arranges all her stuff. She is obviously fluent in English, her native Norwegian, and I suspect speaks some Japanese, Farsi, and Swedish. She's a musical genius. She's kind and humble. At 15, she is signed to the prestigious Republic records and has released a single that deals with her grief and loss over the death of her grandfather. Obviously not a common choice for aspiring pop stars. Because that's not what she is. Her covers of Adele and Lana del Rey and many others exceed the brilliant originals in almost every case. In addition to her new single "Million Miles," you might want to listen to her covers of Born to Die, or When When We Were Young, or Happier, or I Know I'm Not the Only One, or I'd Rather Go Blind. And those are only few.

Angelina won Norway's got talent when she was 7 years old. The clothes she was wearing is taken from her grandmother's artistry and I believe Angelina sewed it together. Angelina turned 15 years old 10 January 2021, and published a book in Norway when she was 9 years old, making her Norway's youngest published author, "Between two Hearts"; explaining why she sing barefooted at every public performance. Angelina Jordan is not just a gifted and talented musician but a humanitarian as well. Rusty Shackelford who is a super fan and all things Angelina can tell you more.
