It’s all her singing at home in front of a painting of her grandmother’s. Not the best track but her voice drills deep into you, and leaves you setting in awe.
As far as I know, this is the best track. The legend ( not true, see messages below ) says John Legend personally gave Angelina his original backing track to make her legendary version of it.
@@shortycircuity9878not correct, she buys most of the back track music from internet for her performances, and she has no control to modify the tracks. Also, the male voice in the background isn't John Legend, it was part of the back track.
@@billweekley4077 I actually only read this story a couple of times in the comments. Word was they met at Quincy's birthday party. So just a legend. Thank you both for the clarification.
Since jazz by its description, is an imperfect form of singing that changes to some degree each time a true jazz singer sings the same song. There's a line in this song where John Legend talks about someone's 'perfect imperfections' which he admires in her. That said, Angelina is definitely 'The Queen Of Perfect Imperfections', for sure.
Yes just casually singing this song at home, back in January 2019, she had just turned 13! She looks so relaxed and that tone, just perfect for this song. Of course she usually prefers to sing the Old song All of Me - as sung by Billie Holiday...
The thing you have to realize is that even though many of these recordings are amazing they are meant only to be an exercise for her voice technique and arrangement skills. That's why her live performances are always the best. It's just my opinion but once I saw it that way I can't unsee it. The thought that Angelina is merely practicing and trying new techniques make these video's of her even more amazing to me.
Yes, she is at home. She is standing in front of one of Grandma Mery's paintings. There are two backup singers, sometimes 3 maybe .. and they do sound like men. She sure does a magnificent job of covering this song. Beautiful. I love when she films at home. It is comfortable and lovely .. full of art.
The couple of years after she got her neuman mike is great for us to watch. Please watch BORN TO DIE. She loved the way it picked up subtle differences in her tone and she fully explored her voice. We get to watch.
Even though you’ve heard a good number of Angelina songs, you will continue to be surprised that she is so comfortable, so relaxed covering any type of music. She sings so cleanly, with such vocal confidence-and makes it look effortless as she gives us versions we often like better than the originals. Someone suggested you react to her cover of Lana Del Ray’s “Born to Die”. Yes, watch and listen to Angelina’s incredible range, her unique phrasing, and her absolute mastery over another difficult song. It’s one of those videos where you hear the first phrase and think: that cannot be a young girl. But Angelina is simply like no other singer we’ve ever heard. Here’s the link. I’m pretty sure it’s just AJ, a Mike, a computer, and a backing track. She’s familiar with mixing a song. There’s videos of her since she was 9 or 10 out there sitting at a mixing board listening. I don’t know how much mixing she was actually done but I doubt that it’s zero. As smart as she is you have to know she played around enough to know her way around one. Especially just mixing software on her computer.
Awesome Choice I think this is better than the original And she's using a karaoke track. That's explains why you heard the male voice. It's John Legend
great reaction when i found angelina ´bout two years ago i read somewhere that the male voice is john himself and he gave this backing to angelina but no proof
I think the male voice is on the track. Probably some karaoke file. Just give AJ a mike, a cell phone and a karaoke machine, and she turns it to pure magic. Love your reactions, by the way.
That's a tract playing in the background and I believe that's John's voice we hear on it. They realized it and I believe they decided to leave it in but low keyed it. Btw, Alex, the artwork behind Angelina was a work done by her grandma Mery (who you've seen in some video's). Mery, herself, was a child prodigy and was recognized at a very early age of being a wonderful painter and poet. There is no "singer" in Angelina's family that she drew inspiration from but there is no doubt her grandma's genes are very much inside her.
Its her Music Corner in one of the rooms but I Think its a family room. not a studio The male voice is on the backing track... I dont think its John Legand
Not too familiar with the original, but to me it sounds like she played John Legend in the part where there was duo. Knowing how she like to showcase the band, I would imagine if it were a person with her singing backup, she would show him, at least briefly.
Awesome reaction and I believe she just turned 13, and yes her Nuance arrangement using a soundtrack given to her personally by John Legend himself, God Bless!
😊 I assume it's a male background singer that was on the backing track. Sometimes backing tracks are available for freedom to cover a song, that people are best off using. I was told something like that anyway. Large list of songs with mediocre backing tracks. With permission to cover inherently granted using them.
Ho un'età molto matura,ma finché avrò orecchio è cervello dirò che Angelina JORDAN è la voce più grande più bella che abbia mai sentito.È peccato affermarlo?Guardatevi attorno.C'è di meglio?
She's using the studio quality Neumann TLM-102 mic she got for her 12th birthday. Even excluding a pre-amp to supply the "phantom power" the mic requires, it's a good chunk of change. But that's why it sounds so much better than "just any home recording". Of course, it can't rescue a bad sounding voice but that's not a problem for Angelina.
