Remarkable! Sports commentators talk about elite athletes like Usain Bolt being all relaxed and jokey until 'on your marks'. Then they become laser-focused. Angelina seems able to do that between breaths. Remarkable. I'd like to hear her sing this now. I feel she was impersonating Billie Holiday back then, but is her own voice now.

You have to realize that Angelina's #1 singer is Billie Holiday and she has said that she wouldn't be the singer she is today if not for what she learned by listening to Ms. Holiday. She sang Billie's Gloomy Sunday when she first appeared on Norway's Got Talent when she was 7 and everyone started talking about how it seemed that Billie was reincarnated into this little girl.

Angelina glances to the heavens just before she sings and I think she was channeling Billie Holiday. The vocal coach, Ceci Dover, exclaimed this performance, perfect. Angelina was 11 years old recording this for her "It's Magic" album. I encourage every angel to purchase two copies of that album so you can keep one unopened, like I have done. All of her merch is on her angelina jordan official website. Great job as always Brit Pops for a great job encouraging viewers to subscribe to her two RU-vid Channels (Official and Cover Channel).

She is obviously enjoying this to the core. The only times we can see her react like this while in her Music Mode is when her beloved "mormor" (grandmother) is nearby. They seem to have a special bond, especially regarding this kind of music. The final "De var kjempebra" comment: Norwegian for something like "This was Great" or "Awesome".

This is Angelina recording her 1st album "It's Magic" with the Norway Military Band, a month or two before her 12th Birthday. It was released in the summer of 2018 when she was 12 1/2. It's a great album where she sings 13 mostly jazz standards & includes her first 2 original songs, What is Life & Oslo'.

It was really fun watching your faces and seeing jaws drop during those first few phrases. This video is one where it's easy to see her youth and artistic maturity in place at one time. One of my favorites, but I'm a big blues/jazz fan. The more mournful, the better. And she knows how to bring the soul in every breath.

The more someone listens to this the more you will marvel at her performance. On a 1 to 10 she scores about 150! And, to all you folks who are listening to this on a computer or your iphones, I know you enjoyed it very much but you will be shocked so much more if you wear some kind of a hearing device. I recently bought a pair of Air Pods and when I played this song I almost fell off the chair! What's simply astonishing is how she can go back and forth in and out of the song during the recording. And, jazz aficionado's are startled when they hear this. It is not a young kid singing some jazz. She's the real deal. In fact, she is slowly introducing a brand new genre into the music world. Be it pop or whatever genre she decides to sing she will add an element of jazz to the song. Thanks, guys! Loved your reactions 5-10 seconds into her performance. It's wise to never anticipate what you are about to hear when it's Angelina.

hi just to add a perspective,,,,,i listen daily to Angelina for the past 7 years and watch most of the reactions,,,,,,,remember she is now 16 so most of her amazing beginning she was a child,,,,,,but her audience hard core enthusiasts are more then 70% adults over 45 and many ,many who still remember sixties so now retired have planty of time and tools to really enjoy good music,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,if thanks to her familly she stays this humble and pure,,,,,she will become an icon but not in a fake, stupid and meaninless limelight ,,,,but direct in peoples hearts and souls,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,thanks for reacton

Angelina still shows her playful age and switches back to Beast Mode lol she did a one Diamonds are Forever at 10yrs at an outside concert.

She’s gesturing to her grandmother who is videoing this. She is singing the soundtrack for her first album, It’s Magic. Flowers and garlands in the hair are a Norwegian thing aa is the little curtsey at the end of her songs. BTW, she’s 12 here, and I think she did a Fantastic job with this song. She thought it went well, too, and that’s why she was so elated at the end. You have to realize she usually does these songs in one take!

She first did this song a cappella on NGT to move into the semifinals, then she did a cameo performance of this song on the tv series Lillehammer, then she did this version for her album “It’s Magic” with the Norwegian Military Band, and it’s still charting on the ITunes top 100 jazz chart.

She is in the studio with her mother and Grandma Meri. Her mother taped most of the video when Angelina was younger. She got her early love of Billie Holiday with records she and her Grandma bought in record stores in Oslo, Norway. She asked her Mother at age 7 to enter her in Norway's Got Talent where her first appearance immediately went viral!

Reading the lyrics from her phone, interacting with the people filming her and than crawling into the mic and the song the next instance. Her on and off switch goes insanely fast. And yes she sings it so beautifully and emotionally. She sings a wide variety of music and the only thing you can be sure of is to be surprised each time :-)

It's great to see you featuring these earlier covers by Angelina. Typically reading the lyrics from her mobile (it used to be sheets of paper on the stage floor) and making it sound like the song was hers. I never get tired of listening to her and long may it continue.

As mentioned below, this is the recording studio where she records the music for her first Album "It's Magic. If you listened to the Billy Holiday version of this song, and Billy made it famous, you would see that Angelina is very much singing the song in the Billy Holiday version, one of Angelina's inspirations for jazz music. All the gestures and thumbs up of course are directed at Grandma who is filming this. You did the NGT season of her songs, so you would have seen her at 7 do this song A Capella in the competition. There's a video of her In a studio mixing suite where they provide a selection of flowers and vines that she weaves into her hair as as the audio guys are doing their thing between takes. Guess that's what she asks for instead booze or candy to keep herself busy in these settings.

Since it's been a while, I put Ms. Holiday's album on the turntable and listened to her sing this. As great as she was, I enjoy Angelina's version and voice more. There's just something there that is smoother, like listening to velvet.

Gary, l love Angelina's take equality to Billies. To me they each bring something different. Having said that, Check out, if you haven't already, Bilies version of " Autumn in New York ". The pain in her voice would brake you. I always hoped Angie would do this song. I know she could channel and bring her own unique insite to it.

Especially for BP1: i wonder how many times you’ve said “this is gonna be perfect for her voice” (correction: .. is going to .. since you’re a Brit). And the Bond comment was made on yt the first time in 2014. Angelina has been filmed many times during “downtime” in studios putting flowers in her hair, weaving them in and out. You can sometimes tell her mind is somewhere else entirely. Love your reactions, keep them coming! (Oh, did you react to Song For A? Composed especially for Angelina to sing, a Burns’ poem)

Thanks for the wonderful reaction guys (even if I don't agree on the numerical evaluation 🤔), this remains for me one of her best interpretations, she brought the true soul of jazz and blues to that recording room, it's as if Angelina and her main musical muses coexisted in the same space, without any contrast, but only with a splendid result of poetic / musical fusion. I don't know anything comparable to this fantastic singer, her connection with music is incredible. 💛 🧡 ❤️

Ron Jones I have watched that many times...... I meant her attitude and personality while she was interacting with whomever it was, possibly her grandmother. I just found it interesting to see more of her personality, just like the video when she sings Cry Me A River, while she is jamming in a studio with her band and she is pretending to cry. That video was very heart warming because it reminds us that she is still a child, which I often forget.

To me this performance is pure perfection. Never really cared much for the song but for an 11 year old to pull this off is incredible. This is one song where she really tried to imitate Billie Holiday and she did Billie better than Billie. The first time I saw this I was shell shocked. Sorry chaps but this time I must disagree with your very complex rating system so I'll try my own rating system and give it an 11, LOL. Here's a song that may be more to your liking. You don't know the song because Angelina demoed for it at 10 years old in 2016 and it was put on YT before being taken down shortly after. It was never released. The writer of the song, Baby Fuzz, did record it in Dec. 2018 one month after someone discovered Angelina's demo recording and re-uploaded it on YT in Nov. 2018. @frank phillips Hi Frank, you are more than welcome to provide your own scoring, everyone is welcome to join in to our "very complex" scoring system, which is basically made up on the spot after hearing a song for the first time. We do have extra wiggle room and if something is better than a10/10 then it gets a "Bangin' " that is the BPR top of the shop score for something totally great. We give those out very sparingly but a few artists have received that well coveted award. Thanks for the comment.

Great commentary as always. This one always impresses me because it is the only time I've ever seen in 11 year old girl recording professionally in the studio. And to be able to see her personality alternate between child and adult is incredible. By the way, you mentioned you would like to see Angelina doing a Bond song. I don't know if you have reacted to her original song Shield (live indoor), but this song which was performed at 12 years old definitely has a James Bond vibe.

Listen again to Billie Holliday's definitive version of this song which is considered to be a classic in the world of jazz vocal performances and Holliday's theme song. She owns the song like Ray Charles owns Georgia so for Angelina to take on a classic like this is not only brave but she really does the song justice. I too always had some trouble "liking" Holliday's version not because it's bad but because it's so uncompromising in its stylistic approach but its kind of like you really need to force yourself to understand it because if you can break through Holliday's densely packed performance you will come away being able to say you truly understand jazz. And in a way Angelina's cover gave me a different angle on the song to help me begin to better understand the original version.

Nice & fun reaction you 2, thanks. Everyone explained most things for you 2 below. You should buy her album "It's magic" this was recorded for it. She was 11 & Angie sang her version of the Billy holiday version. You might want to check out when she sang it a NGT “I’m a fool to want you” cover by Billie Holiday she was 7 just turned 8 NGT quarter finals Judges cut. To be sure though you need to know that what you hear from the beginning to the point at the end with her double handed kiss is actually the finished product album tracked not the fan put to the recording session video yo and as you can see some Special blending where there were some errors clips and changes which were cleaned up. I do highly suggest though that you look for the original Recording video with the phone audio, I believe it is on the fan club mozars channel,, And you will see how well she does in the raw, comma works to be corrected and all. It's so good but so damn promiscuous or precocious maybe I should say for an 11 year old ?

Another great performance from Angelina. But - and you always get a but from me - I prefer to hear her singing in her own voice and not trying to channel another singer, even one as great as Billie.
