This isn´t an original written by Angelina Jordan. This is a Brandon Lowry, aka Baby Fuzz, song. Written while he was living in Oslo in Norway. But I agree with you doesn´t matter who performs it, she does it wonderfully and I love her raspy voice on it
If the experts say that she has not yet arrived, after that one she HAS. Angelina is wonderful but that one will stand out a bit like her first black and white recording of "I put a spell on you". One of the greatest jazz singers of the twenty-first century.
I totally agree with all the great things people have said about Angelina, but I want to go in another direction. The person who created that video doesn't allow comments, so I'm going to comment on it right here: The selection of photos and videos, the placement and the timing was perfectly in sync with the song and lyrics...especially at the end. It's always nice to see your early Angelina reactions again. Like this rare case where the cover came out before the original, so it's understandable to think it's an original.
She sang this at age 10. It was a demo that had never been sung by the songwriter, Baby Fuzz, or anybody else for that matter. So this was entirely her arrangement of his song. Love it and love to see your smiling face again. You are looking beautiful and hoping your health is much better!
I'm still holding out for you song written by Brandon Lowry( also goes by Baby Fuzz), Ronny Janssen, and Frida Amundsen they went to 10-year-old Angelina with it and Angelina made this cut but Angelina's family didn't like the ending lyrics referencing suicide and asked for a lyric change from the authors and they refused so Angelina refused her video. Then the video was leaked, later on, also Angelina has stated she would never sing the song again. It's a terrible shame as it could have been a mega-hit. My favorite AJ song what a shame about the drama as this song could have been a mega-hit.

I pray that once she's cleared for surgery and that tumor is finally removed many of her other health issues will go away. It hurts to see her so frail and in so much pain. Between worrying about Mom, almost losing the house 😓, losing my hair 😫, the pandemic 😷and coping with my Lupus diagnosis 🙁, I've been in a deep depression. As soon as I feel like being social again I will be back to making videos. It won't be much longer... I've started communicating with people again and that's always a good sign. 😊💕

Absolutely stunning. Even as a devoted, long-term fan, I’m constantly amazed at what Angelina can do. She chose a “voice” that is perfect for these emotional lyrics. The whole song is an emotional ride, but the concluding verses are just so heart-wrenching. She delivers lyrics like no one else. How could anyone else do this song at this level? 10 years old at the time of this recording? Even understanding her talent, I am stunned at this performance.
When I hear this song I'm amazed that it & several others have had zero air play on any corp controlled radio stations.. A shame really, so many people deserve to hear this song and many others from her ever growing catalog..

These lyrics are different to those that Angelina sings ... hers have been 'cleaned up' as was done with her Amy Winehouse covers ... so the theories about the writer refusing to make changes to the lyrics may not be correct unless they were made without his permission. I guess we will never know until Lowry and/or Angelina sets the record (!) straight. I'm not even convinced that Angelina, her mother, grandmother, manager or anyone else who listened to this 'demo' took exception to the lyrics beyond the changes that have anyway been made ... the so-called 'suicide' reference could be interpreted differently ... certainly the words could be changed to dispel any doubt about their meaning. Considering that 'they' have apparently been quite happy to let Angelina release, more recently, a cover of 'Love on The Brain' in which the abused partner of a mysogenistic man is begging to be thrown against the wall again for his pleasure ... or 'Born to Die', where a woman talks about hooking up one night with a (possibly random) guy to get high ... just doesn't make sense to me. It was a cover of Baby Fuz composition, but he, if I remember wrote it with her in mind. Her mother didn't care for it because of a supposed suicide reference. That's the reason it says "Leaked." Somnone in the inner circle thought regardless it needed to be heard. Which everyone whose heard it agrees. I tnink it in its entirety is perfect, the singing, the imagery, the production. It will always be on my glay list and no matter how often I have heard it still thrills and chills me.
Angelinas breath taking singing of this song reached down to the depth of my soul and shook me. O.M.G. to say she is incredible is a gross understatement. Profoundly moving.
This performance should be considered a masterpiece, one very special among most of her performances, and outstanding, as well as I put a spell on you, both different from the usual performances with much vocal fry, breathy tone and slower tempo. Although most of her performances are truly unique and amazing this is one my favourites.

Hi Sandy. Love your reaction here to Angie & your great comments too. “I'm Still Holding out for You” This was recorded when Angie was 10 almost 11 (it was used as a demo. Her mom didn't like a line in it (the holding down under water reference), so it was never released as a single) This song is by Brandon Lowry better known as Sterling Fox & aka Baby Fuzz & co-writers Aksel Carlson, Ronny Janssen, and Frida Amundsen. Baby fuzz did this during a music workshop back in 2016 in Norway. (No one was interested at the time) then Angie did the demo for it in 2016 & it was leaked 2 years later around Nov 2018. He wont change the lyrics to the song or let others do so. He released it as an original in Dec 2018. So I think we can all agree that this girl is going to be an all time great, up there with the very best ever Jazz and soul singers like Ella and Billie, but she is also going to be one of the most beautiful women in the world too, she reminds me of a young Jackie O. There's absolutely no stopping her. On a slightly separate note, It must be fantastic for young girls now to have heroines like Angelina, Courtenay Hadwin, Billie Eilish and many others. They are going their own way, doing what they love, how they want to do it, and not letting convention or critisism stop them. They are an inspiration. And if you look at girls like Greta and Emma Gonzalez fighting for what they believe girls everywhere are becoming more influencial, feeling more empowerment and more freedom to express themselves which is a fantastic sign of progress for the world. About damn time.

I love this song for her, this song encompasses all of the deferent styles I hear in her Vocals. This is exactly the type of song I see her doing in the Future. it’s already on my playlist

Although Angelina did not approve of the lyrics near the end of the song (don't blame her), I do think her vocal performance was a real showcase of her jazzy side. This performance is very near the top of my favorites (apologies to you, Angelina). I wish Angelina might have negotiated a change to the lyrics to preserve this song for her repertoire...but if no, then so be it...I still love the performance!
the sad part is.. the song has nothing to do with suicide at all.. it is about getting out of a really bad relationship, that makes you feel like your drowning, and not litterally.. its a metaphorical image.

To add to your comment, it might be good to realise that the song was written by a guy called "Baby Fuzz" who released this song to be recorded by anybody. Angelina recorded it and the recording was leaked. Anyway, even if Angelina says that she is not going to make an official recording of this becuse of the suicidal undertones she has not been allowed to remove the offending bit about drowing. Many people think that this is the best jazz song that has been done by our Angelina. It is a great shame that she cannot do it officially
Fact is, Angelina has done things with her voice as a young girl that Diana Krall and Norah Jones would still to this day only WISH they could do. Now she's getting into her teens and she will lose whatever remains of the little girl voice (there was never really much of that); so ... who knows ... it looks good for her career-wise. Nothing is guaranteed, but it's looking very good indeed going forward.

Even though i have the highest regard for her voice i consider her an Artist, & story teller that plays a mean instrument. She is testing her limits, she has the best low tones in the business. She is also learning the technical side of things. On one of her rehearsal videos at the end she is showing the piano player chord progressions she wants in the song she is singing. Our little girl is growing up. I finally broke down and watched her different versions of 'I'm A Fool To Want You'. I was afraid that listening to those might diminish the one she sang at 7 yrs. old, and accapella. I shouldn't have worried. Each version has its own charm. This song blows me away she is so good. Nice new digs you have. I like the lighting it seems more conducive for letting the mood take you. This song could easily be a number one hit if managed correctly. It was written by a Norwegian writer that goes by the name of Baby FuzZ. Angelina sings this with such power it is unbelievable she is only twelve when she recorded this. Oh, by the way, glad you are back.

You know she is going to give some of the greatest singing performances ever when you hear songs like this from her age 12/13. As for the ending lyrics Angelina is a Jazz singer and they are jazz lyrics. Musical collaborations are a quick way to lose work.
Angelina is not only one of my favorite singers, she is my absolute favorite singer. I hear her every day, Angelina's voice brings warmth and peace to my heart and soul.

This song was a demo that orignally written for her but because of the strong lyrics at the END she refused to have her name to this song because of the strong lyrics at the END but it leaked out from someone so i think this will be the first and last time she will sing that song. The leak was about a year ago. But there are some other people that can tell you more about that like rusty shackelford that are a member on the Facebook group that you are a member of if you wanna know more of the back story of this song sandy. But other than that she did an amazing job singing this song and i listen to it much since it came out. Thank you for a great job reacting to this special song. If you think of the artistes and friends whom she had admired who had committed suicide recently and over the years, you will understand her unwillingness to have anything more to do with it. Its not about the money and the fame. It's about principles and character and her moral center and beliefs.

I love this song of her... One of her cleanest song I've ever heard. I mean she sings clean but this one is just something else. Sad thing is this song will always reminds me also of people who took advantage of Angelina. This is a demo song not intended for public but somebody leaked it. Um.. Team Angelina passed on this song.. THAT was their decision, for whatever reason . THEY should have obtained the rights... THEY did not have the rights, so your "given or sold" comment is inconstant and wrong.
