12 year old Angelina in her 2018 concert to promote her 2017 album "It's Magic". When you listen to her performance on the album which she recorded at age 11, and compare it to her live performance here, the power in her voice increased dramatically. Once again I humbly request you verbally encourage your viewers to show love to the artist by subscribing to their official RU-vid channel(s). Especially important for aspiring artists like Angelina.
The outdoor wind carried a weird bright mix to that handheld device, where the sharp clarinet traveled fastest. Not to worry though, there’s a whole studio album with AJ and this military band.
She’s got everything and in absolute bucket fulls..the most talented musical force I’ve ever seen. For more belting and sheer “attitude” have a look at her live performance of “Loving You”..more awesomeness 😀
When I saw "LOVING YOU" It reminded me of a young Tina Turner, or Janis Joplin, I knew at that moment she was going to be a big superstar someday. Now we wait for that moment with happy hearts.
Loved how you picked up on the interaction between AJ and the conductor. He did look at her and sort of shook his head. Not only did she create magic on the fly, but she also did it brilliantly and the conductor knew it.
As you saw that was on Boris Palenovski's channel; if it wasn't for him two thirds of the videos we have of her, especially these live outdoor summer concerts, would not exit. He is a very big reason that we all know about her, so thanks Boris.
What an unexpected treat, I never knew you hadn't seen this one. She does this song on her album accompanied by her great jazz band, the recording quality is much better there, but she's got some musical magic going on with this military orchestra. Despite the bad audio quality and the poor sound balance, she just rips your face right off with this.
Lee, the album “It’s Magic” IS with this military band. The great jazz band was a concert in Kongsberg, where we “only” have the audio, but what a concert that was!
@ThatSingerReactions: Congratulations! As far as I know, you are the only reactor to understand and explain why it sounds as if Angelina comes in too early at 06:48 to leave room for her secret party piece, and why the conductor, who may not have heard this in rehearsal, reacts. His admiration prompts him to ask the band to stand in recognition of what she's just done. Regardless of the poor audio, this will stand as one of her greatest pre-teen performances. R (Australia)
Angelina has the greatest musical instincts. She knows how to turn the phrase, how to shape her mouth to get the sound she wants, when to add vocal fry and when to use straight tone, when to throw in a riff or run, when to belt, when to mix and when to pull it back, when to add sass, she just feels it, and does it, and it’s incredible! 🥰
I think the Director was simply waiting for the cue to move forward, because she was doing an improv that he probably hadn’t heard her do during rehearsal, lol. But it was still a great moment.
@@Rosannasfriend If this was Angelina recovering from an error, my mind is completely blown. What other singer, of any age, could recover by making the song even better than it was originally? At twelve and coolly improvising on the spot? That's talent writ large!
There was no improv or mistake. Listen to this rehearsal as she sings that part in the same way. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HXSsR9SqOno.html
The conductor has been familiar with AJ for two years before this one concert yet he was still obviously ROCKED by that moment. I see the conductor turn his head twice towards AJ, always with this cheeks spreading from his grin.
Hi from France! I LOVE your reactions. If you love her range, you should listen to How great thou art, just to hear her sing in a very low range. Evelyne
Do you enjoy every second of it because it’s a fantastic performance Angelina Jordan how are the best voices on the planet in any type of song she is a great singer. I’ve been followers and she’s one and a half now she’s in Amy 18 here in about 18 January 10, 2024, and I’ll still be falling long as I live her voice is one of a kind. She has a great voice to make a great singer but she has your new things in her voice. It cannot be copy and she can go extremely hard.
I love you man. Thanks for yours reaction, its soulfull and real feelings coming out your musikal soul. Please play Im still holding out for you. The best song a heard from your and my Angel.
Her phrasing is so good, it is hard to remember that English is not her first language. Jazz is where she made her home, and she is so comfortable there. And we get the benefit of hearing her sing! Another great reaction.
As a subscriber, thank you for your insightful reactions and I look forward to future videos. Assuming you have already provided links to the artists' official videos and channels, it is also appreciated that you show them some love by VERBALLY encouraging your viewers to watch their original videos, AND to also subscribe to their official RU-vid channels. The majority of fans have no idea how important it is to subscribe to the artist's channels in addition to yours. AND IT ACTUALLY BENEFITS YOU TO LET YOUR VIEWERS KNOW! To assess the overall effect of reaction channels on singers' subscriptions, some record labels are now monitoring their RU-vid data. If all reactors make a priority effort to show more direct support for their artists, it is possible labels may ease up on copyright claims and increase support for your reactor channels. Thanks for your efforts! ANGELINA JORDAN OFFICIAL CHANNEL ru-vid.com
Angelina Jordan...almost everybody say she is gifted, but I think SHE IS THE GIFT for the World. My friend, I have to say good bye. I belong to a fan club and if I noticed AJ is mistreated, I leave. You sing over her. You sing again segments she Just sang WHY? Is her moment, the reaction. If you want us to listen you . Upload your video but do not procede in this way, almost clandestine.
It is unfortunate that cell phones can not record PA-sound well. What you are watching here, is AJ singing with the Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces. With more than 200 years of history as an all-out professional brass band. I mean, us Norwegians are proud of our "Guard music corp" (made up of conscripts later to become professional musicians) - but that Staff Band. That is the real deal with 40 of the absolute best professional musicians on brass in the world (Norway is huge of brass - from the jazz-scene to Big Band - including some insane "amateur" bands. This gang is regulars in the National Opera house, they split out sections to do world-class chamber music festivals - as a band - they are as elite as the American Navy-SEALS or the Norwegian FSK when it comes to their discipline. And this 12-year-old girl is standing in front of them, singing their socks off. Including the conductor. To watch this is like watching Usain Bolt breaking the world record in the sprint. All my senses are on. I can see and hear it happens. Still, I have problems with suspending my disbelief. And I have heard Pavarotti live with no disbelief. Regarding Norwegian audiences - Let me tell you this. Back in 1991 (?) I managed to secure a concert hall ticket for Paul Simon's "Born at the right time" tour. The one with the PA system being so good it was actually sealed between gigs. The one with Michal Brocker on Sax. The one with Steve Gadd on lead drums. The one lined up with superstars all across the stage as perhaps the most insane backing band ever to have toured (yeah - the same who was backing him in the "concert in the Park" double album. Here is the thing about us Norwegians. We are not going to make a sound for 2+ hours when that kind of magic is hitting us. We are gonna keep that venue so silent that you can hear a needle drop to embrace all that awesomeness. We are not supporting a sports team - we are given a display of genius. So between the songs will sit still - and give brief applause. After the entire concert has finished you will see 20,000 people standing still, clapping for 10 minutes straight. Whistling. Screaming "Bravo". Forcing the band out on the stage often 3 or 4 times AFTER their typical one or two encore numbers. (This is of course different in a jazz concert or a rock concert). It is European style coming from classical music. One does not interrupt by cheering inside a movement - even if it may be a pause between sections. I know many American bands are confused about this when touring Europe for the first time (I know Snarky Puppy expressed this confusion the first time - they were not used to "prog-jazz" audiences quietly listen to every whisper and complication). Remember, traditionally over here, a concert may get booed as instant feedback (in the more classical art forms). We do not applaud politely. To make a pop-cultural reference - when you Americans sign a movie up for Venice, Cannes or the Berlin film festivals, the audience will be dead quiet for the duration of the movie. But if the movie is good it may get a 10-minute standing ovation after the end credits have rolled off the screen. There is no instant "crowd feedback". As someone who spent 20 years going to classical concerts at least bi-weekly, it takes something very special to make me provide kudos standing up for "fine art". Angelina Jordan does though. But remember, Europe has a different way to express kudos and gratitude. We start by being silent when art is performed (obviously we were not silent when Nirvana (for example) came to visit us - that genre is all about getting as much noise out of fans as the total output of a million-watt sound-rig could through at us). So remember - when Europeans seem comparatively reserved with "Woop-Woop'ing fine art" - it does not mean we are disrespectful. It just means we have turned up to receive the gift of experiencing played out live by insane lineups of artists - so we can focus on every delicate detail. And when the art is finished - THEN we will shower it with love. I know the "instant gratification syndrome" is spreading also here on the east side of the Atlantic. But - If David Bowie returned for 5 minutes to do a final performance of "Life on Mars" or if Lennon returned to sing "Yesterday" as an overdue encore - I think even Americans would shut up for a few minutes.
Got through watching that big voice she’s 10 years old Wow what a voice prodigy explains it and last name explains her to Astar The contralto's vocal range is fairly rare; to the mezzo-soprano, and almost identical to that of a countertenor, typically between the F below middle C (F3 in scientific pitch notation) to the second F above middle C (F5),
Come out 2000 people in the audience that’s how small is vineyards are and they’re always feel when she sang which is sayings on the main main main 30 or Main amphitheater for 40,000 her to come here her around the world she’s been in South Korea with Norah Jones open up she’s been around the world with Alan, Alan Walker singing feeding them take me to sleep she’s been to Australia. You’ve been to Germany and France midnight Snvalan world and she’s well known around the world at this age. Even Siri doesn’t matter how old you are are you ready dozen boys you is a great singer regards very she’s your straight, fantastic superior singer. No she’s great vocalist
This venue house about 2000 people that’s what they call the small venue in a conference in Norway there’s 30 to 40,000 people that attend Melnora spill over and I come to hear this little girl saying from all around the world and I pay tickets to get in so they can pay her the band everybody else in the concert and a very happy to hear her now she’s and we went when she was 16 1/2 beef Livermore from middle eight mil USA to Norway and I said in a hurry is three rows in the right side over and it was fantastic boys. She is really great. I have nothing she sung three times in a concert do you song Summer original songs some cover songs it was a fantastic fantastic concert. It was 45,000 people that showed up from different countries.
Angelina had the privilege of singing at the 2018 birthday party for Quincy Jones. She sang Fly me to the Moon. Mr Jones commented that he has not seen anyone that talented at her age since Michael Jackson.
I think that Angelina has satisfied her military commitment early. I can imagine this question on the military questionnaire: "Have you ever participated in a military function?" Her answer: "Yes, when I was 12, I was the solo singer for the military band ."
Nick I don’t know about you but I’m enjoying every time I hear this. Tell my playlist hey by the way I love her voice that she go hard to go lol in between Jacques and Pops and Rock EDM even dance but I tried best music he does it all she has a generation singer.
Angelina Jordan Astar who are the greatest singers I’ve ever heard in my life and I’m 77 I know what you say she’s one and a half singing jazz. Yeah now you can say anything you name it. You can sang it your generation singer.
Angelina Jordan has a very high range and a really low range tremolo I am very high. She got to be minor major. Hi do you go down C Minor first one step C bellow on piano
Is it cool vocal Ron she did. She does that a lot in summer higher songs, modifies, the vowels, modify, modify the bells by the shape of her mouth she sent the side
She just welcomed you into her world of mixed jazz and blues . I have this on my Spotify list another great song to listen to by her is Loving You , she turns it loose on that one to .... again I enjoyed your reaction , thanks
Angelina goes from effortless vocals while swaying back and forth to "blow your face off" explosiveness without hardly a transition. Even from the very first note she was in "AJ don't play" mode! Enjoyed your comments!
I completely agree with you about AJ knowing her own voice and how to use all the tools at her disposal. She is also a voracious listener and she often uses other covers of a song to inform her style choices. In this case, it's a cover by Karise Eden on The Voice Australia.
I absolutely disagree, they are both singing a cover of “it’s a mans world” but Angelina did not copy the cover by Karise Eden...that’s a far stretch....hard to see how Angelinas 3:30 cover could be considered a “copy” of a 1:30 rendition done on The Voice Australia by Karise, her cover is excellent but lacking a full 2 minutes of Angelinas rendition....they are not the same, being a fan of Karise is not going to change that, just my honest observation.
@@rburkett1939 Never for one second did I imply that she 'copied' Karise, any more than she 'copied' Sara Bareilles arrangement of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. I said she has great ears and is a voracious listener. And she uses what she hears to inform her style choices. That is unquestionably true and there is no need to get defensive or think I am criticizing AJ in any way.
@@supasoulproductions, sorry, I’m just a little touchy I regularly see postings that make light of Angelinas remarkable vocal abilities, saying she copy’s the artists she covers, doesn’t understand what she sings, etc.
Without Boris attending every concert he could, on his own dime, using the best equipment he was allowed to use, none of this and many other of her concerts, would be available at all. The genius still comes through.
This young musical genius is going to rock the music industry once she is unleashed onto the world stage. Her future is so bright that she is going go Super Nova. There is no other like her. I can’t say enough how happy I am to have discovered the most phenomenally gifted and talented young artist I have ever heard.
TheBlaster54 I love her when she sings ballads like "CRAZY", and I love her when she goes into "BEAST MODE" like this "LOVING YOU". She just needs to find a happy medium for her TIC TOC material.
@@leebrn8588 I see her spontaneous and impromptu Tic Toc performances as being a fifteen year old Angelina having fun with her fans. Besides, she has given us a glimpse via Tic Toc of what cover she may release next.
@@TheBlaster54 "YESTERDAY" was really well received , better than any others to date 76K views as of 9/26/2021. Not to shabby for just 1 day out of the starting gate. I guess that was a real cover, not a Tic Toc. She did get a lot of great comments for when she was singing in the parking garage TIC TOC
That's a lot of stops! This song is only unknown to you, we are curious about your reaction, but not after every sentence! Here AJ 12yo, now almost 16 years old, 80% of the writers here have heard this excellent song many times. Btw your reaction is very good!
Hi Nick, the video was recorded from Boris a big fan of hers & has recorded several of her live concerts & functions. (Yes she was 12 when it was recorded) You should sub him & you'll see a lot more of her to react to from Angie. Those 2 big belts you herd where around around a E5 to G5. You should get her album "It's Magic" you'll enjoy it. This is one of the Songs on it. Remember Angie never sings a song the same way twice. “My Funny Valentine” Ella Fitzgerald cover- 2/14/16 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sZ25H4a2gPI.html She’s 10 with no mic & just sitting on chair. Angie does a great interpretation of this difficult song to interpret.(warning serious Cute factor at the end) “Ain’t no sunshine” by Bill Withers ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5hoa9Ud7Y4s.html she’s 12
I LOVE it, Angelina-d this song up...Angelina as a verb. You coined it, man! She's so cool and unassuming before and after a song. It's like she knows to just let herself step aside and be a vehicle for this soul to come through her from another place - and angelic place. Just leaves me in awe every time.
