Excellent reaction to this performance. It is clearly a significant progression from the previous songs in NGT. Angelina really feels these emotions, I believe from her own personal experiences. Around this time in 2014 she was developing the story that she would publish in 2015. The story based on her diary entries from 2012, aged 6, meeting a poor street vendor, a homeless orphan, trying to make some money by using a weight scale to weigh people for a small fee. Angelina wanted to understand what it was like to have that life, standing barefoot on the cold damp street. Angelina got weighed, then decided to give the shoes that she was wearing to the girl. Angelina pledged that she would always perform on stage barefoot in order to remember the girl. The song is about how she is privileged, living the easy life, she has a mother and a father and a fine home. Her baby sister would cry, here Angelina would be singing to her - explaining that she has no reason to cry...
She was bringing two long gone spirits into the present realm in this performance...Her cadence with the strong vibrato made it sound like Louis Armstrong was in the building...her voice sounded like a trumpet...particularly in the second 'your daddy's rich and your ma is good lookin' part...insane - just insane!
Great reaction as always! Yes, she h ad a VERY distinct vibrato here, and the reason for her choice was that she tried to convey the song in the vein of Louis Armstrong. That was the recording of the song that she had been listening to 🙂 Towards the end of the song you can hear her almost whisper a part to herself, a part that was in the original recording by Louis Armstrong, but that had to be cut away in HER performance, due to the time format in the competition (2 minutes). Thanks a lot for checking out all 4 of her performances on Norway's Got Talent. She ultimately won by 46% of the total scores. Regardless her age, the choices are tasteful and pleasant to the ear. To sing “your dady’s rich” as 4 dotted quarter notes in a 6/8 bar is not something all adult singers can do with proper swing.

Very good analysis! I believe she chose that strong vibrato in order to express the 'cry of the baby' in the story. But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong. Anyway, I found her interpretations always to be very creative and unique; that's why people often say she makes any song her own.

We call that the AJ affect. She puts a little Angelina in every song she sings and arranges. She had a lot of influences of the past but Angelina's style of singing and the tone and timbre in her voice is all Angelina. Her phrasing is also unique to Angelina, I can understand why many always compare and Angelina understands it as well. 'Where comparison will rob you blind' But Angelina is a unique writer, singer, musician & Vocal genius of her own making. After Angelina the greatest compliment for new singers will be how she compares to Angelina. Once again your analysis was spot on and informative. Someone just posted in one of Angelina's fan clubs that there are 59 seats still available for her first public concert in the USA, this Friday, September 22, at The Music Hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Best to purchase from the venue's website. I will post some videos on my channel, mostly pre-concert meeting many fellow angels. I plan on recording, if permissible, the opening song of the concert and posting it ASAP on my channel. I will let others with better phones than mine, such as Chris Walker, record the entire concert.

You're getting tired from all this vocal gymnastics! Angelina Jordan has nothing to prove. When she sometimes belts is it because the fits in the performances. She sings to us only she can! Thanks for your reaction! She is only 17 years old today and from Norway. She signed with the label Republic Records just 14 years old, I think we can safely leave the promotion to Republic Record. Marketing will start when her full album is released later this year. There's only one EP with 6 songs she's released from RR now, and they haven't started marketing until the full album is released!. Republic Records know 100% what they are doing? I think a lot of people don't realize how much Angelina has done in her short life (17). FIFA song She performed in front of 40 000 people only 11 years old. She was also specially invited by Quincy Jones to perform on his 85th birthday in the O2 arena / London. And so on goes the list .... She has over 200 songs on RU-vid. The truth is that within a year or two she will be the artist for the big occasions. and not a "bare belly plastic artist" who tops a list for a week and is forgotten just as quickly. She already eats most female vocalists for breakfast, and the label Republic Records and the rest of the music industry know that too!
