"I have no idea how she is going to do it"... You can just always assume that when Angelina does it, it will be done to perfection. I have been a fan of Lana since her early days, and there is nobody that can cover her like Angelina. Nobody is able to capture all those little nuances that make Lana so unique. She does it with Lana, she does it with Amy, and she does it with pretty much anyone she covers. She is always able to hear those little details that make the original artist special, and then incorporate them into her vocal in her own special ways.

So you know she is 14 in 2020, and here probably early 13 years of age ;) Also we can't ignore the huge production on Lana's video vs. Angelina's version. And, how cute and original is Angelina's outfit!!! You don't have to pick, you can like both. IMO, Angelina sang it with more nuances and raspiness which gives the song a different texture than that of Lana's. Just saying ...

It's always good when Angelina can create a quandary in a person's mind. It speaks to her ability and God given talent. She sometimes makes a song better or different, changes the speed maybe higher or lower in tone, but with that voice at the helm IMHO it's always amazing. Thanks again, and thumbs up lady.
I like Lana Del Rey but i don't think her voice has the character that AJ's does. AJ's voice brings this song to life a bit more with her tone, texture and that rasp. Angelina definitely made this song better and more interesting to listen to. It goes without saying that i like AJ's version better. Love your reactions to Angelina, keep them coming!
Great reaction. As with most songs she covers, Angelina does slow it down so she can emote every word and do it so beautifully. Angelina's voice is timeless.
I might be more than slightly biased but, in my honest opinion; you can take a song that you really like then hand it to Angelina Jordan; give her a few minutes, and then she will hand you a better version of that song! Most vocalist are ear candy. Some vocalists actually communicate with our minds and intellect. Then there are the very few Angelina Jordan type of vocalist that communicate directly to the core of our being and soul. The one other vocalist that comes to my mind in the Angelina Jordan catagory was Karen Carpenter (r.i.p.). I sometimes forget that Angelina Jordan is still a kid. Albeit a very much gifted and talented kid.
From the parts of the original that you played it appears to me that much of the atmosphere of the performance came from the visuals rather than the voice- with Angelina what you have is a girl standing in front of a microphone giving the texture and depth of feeling simply by her voice. I feel that with Angelina you get to be drawn into the story rather than been dazzled by a fancy production.
Very true about Angelina's quality of performance but I wasn't paying attention to the visuals in the original, also I don't even know what the whole video is like in terms of visuals, I just know the song😊👌
Lana wrote a great song, but it's not really fair to compare her voice to Angelina's. I think this is one of Angelina's prettiest songs, so I might be biased. :)
Someone else has probably already said this here, but I'll say it anyway: Angelina has a knack for not only performing a cover like it's her original song, but actually _making the original sound like a cover_ by comparison. (!) She's done it to Lana. She's done it to Adele. She's done it to Miley. It's rare enough to get a child singing a professional recording artist's song anywhere near as good as they do. It's basically unheard of (before Angelina came along) for a child to do it so well that they literally make people realize that the professional singer in question doesn't actually sing as well as they thought! [LOL - laughing, but I'm totally serious]
Regarding how she picks songs to cover, I don't know for sure, of course, but it seems like most of the stuff she sang when she was younger was just because she liked it, and no other reason. As she got older, I suspect she chose (perhaps in consultation with a vocal coach) songs that would challenge her in some way (e.g., "I Have Nothing") or that she could play with and do something really original ("California Dreamin'", "Bohemian Rhapsody"). When it comes to her ultra-faithful covers (especially "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart"), I get the feeling like she was intentionally doing them that way as a kind of "shot across the bow" of the recording industry. ("Prepare to be boarded"? [LOL])
She has boarded! Her name finally showed up on Republic Records Artist roster back on the 26th of this month, and several pictures of her which in my opinion are not as good as the ones we see above the song "I'm still holding out for you" where she is dressed in all black and looks like a 20 year old. Hope this means a album soon!

I love Angelina's version a lot better. Her voice is like butter, so soft, so smooth. Her rendition is so beautiful and heartfelt. I watched Lana's version once. Good voice, good song, but nothing special. it does not hold my interest as Angelina's version.
I think both the original and Angelina's versions are close in quality until the last verse and chorus when the tempo and instrumentation go up and Angelina matches them by delivering a powerful, emotional plea to The Lord to let her man enter Heaven. Lana does not rise to the occasion. That settles for me who sings better.
lana del rays version is bland to me, theres no passion, plus look how she needs an orchestra, angelina needs a track and a microphone, and she would make a fart sound awesome lol
