Pat is a legend but the European gypsy jazz masters are just in a league of their own . My assumption is the "gyspy rest stroke" picking technique gene is what makes the aural difference. I know Jazz was born in the USA but Europe seems to breed the virtuosos.

Just when I thought I could not enjoy Angelo's playing any more, I come across this. Supurb! Your Langourla concert series shows are amazing. I only wish North America was this hip.
The European gypsy jazz artists just about beat the pants off anything on the American jazz scene ... I'm tempted to move to France or Belgium just to be able to watch musicians like DeBarre or Stochelo or Bireli Lagrene in person.

Alors là, Angelo t'es vraiment le meilleur , une finesse incroyable, une justesse extraordinaire, et en plus un son extra à Langourla mille bravos ! c'est vraiment top !
Angelo Debarre est pour moi un virtuose et musicien absolument génial! A mon goût, sûr c’est enregistrement, sa guitare de type Mccaferri, amplifiée avec un pickup a pour effet d’enlever un peu de charme à cette merveilleuse musique. But Great thanks!
