Very good video. I independently came to the same conclusion that the many mentions of a "Satan" in the post-tanach writings were a result of the Dualism of the Zoroastrians which I assume started to creep in during the Persian period. After reading the Bible in chronological order u notice these things. I enjoyed that. Todah. 👍🏻

35:00 - You omit Zech.3 where the angel tells Ha-Satan that he is in rebellion and his Adon will rebuke him. This destroys the Orthodox Jewish argument in favour of him, and his followers. I do not profess to understand your logic, I just see it as dangerously flawed on this whole matter. The God who was, and is, and will be, puts forth prophesy in accordance with different times. Do not read three verses, or even one verse, or even a part thereof, as though it is being applied to one single place and time. Thus you would have us diminish Torah. I would comment further with respect to Job, where God orders Satan not to follow his own inclination to destroy the saints, but your ancient sages classified him as other than a prophet and placed him in the writings. The Netzerim saw the Mosaic and Prophetic Torahs as one book without making them three. Three is diminishing the Torah.

Dear nickmanfield1, In Rabbi Michael Skobac’s lecture on Satan ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KGNAOZTXkac.html he brings up Zech. 3 to show that Satan is on a short leash and under the control of God. In that lecture Rabbi Skobac also responds to many other issues including your other Satanic concerns. Please watch.

@@JewsforJudaismCanada thank you for your response. Your organisation and Rabbi Skobac have been putting out some great material in recent months. I watched the video you referenced here some months ago and I re-watched the first 16m to refresh my memory. On one hand I agree that Ha-Satan is another created angel, one who certainly was created to test all of us in this world. On the other I do not agree that he is incapable of independent thought or action. If it were so then God would not have to rebuke or restrict his inclinations on particular persons as though it was not normally so. We could talk a lot about Zech.3 and moreso when R. Skobac references Ezra. In fact I have to say again that I disagree with much of what was going on in that period because it was not forbidden to marry foreign women. What we see in Ezek.44 with respect to the Lebiim is quite controversial unless it only applied for a limited period of generations. May God guide your educational endeavours and interactions for the benefit of all.

I do not believe in demons! The evil is at my door and due to free choice I can overcome it or not! This is from the Babylonian Talmud and Babylonian thought.
