I love how as each girl sings lead on a verse the others just slip seamlessly into those gorgeous harmonies! No divas here, just amazing team players. And it was good to see Tim and Sammie together on her verse.
Very Very beautiful. Knowing Christ is the only thing that could make your voices so angelic. Lost a brother-in-law to an overdose this week. I only wish he could have known Christ the King. Thank you for all your talents, you bring peace to my soul. I love you all❤️.
I'm a senior fossil that doesn't cry, but here I am dropping tears. This hit me squarely in the heart. Much as I have loved listening to F&F over the years, this transformed me to suddenly thinking of you like my family. Your musical and vocal arrangement of this precious song of the season is beyond divine, and so are each one of you.
During the pandemic they became my secret family too. I watched the girls grow up from the first parking lot shows. When Scott had to play sitting down I noticed and was concerned for him. Tim is incredible. Take care of yourselves, now, hear?
I have listened over and again. All the recordings ... just beautiful. Tim .... what you heard and cultivated in this group over these many years ... has touched so many .... so many. You have guiding this superlative group. BRAVO!
In a morning when the good people of our dear country are so deeply divided the sweet voices of F&F remind us to love one another. Thank you for this sweet message.
I am usually bored to death by Christmas carols...same songs over and over...and then I hear this....how do you guys keep pulling off the impossible! Sammie singing harmony is one of the wonders of the world...Maggie and Chase....do you even realize how talented your are?????
Maggie is a big part of the reason they're back. She "left" only because of college and work commitments.Tim made sure she knew she was welcome in anything they did in the future.
This is a beautiful arrangement of a beloved hymn of the Christmas Season. Such incredible clear voices from Maggie, Sammie, Chase and Tim! It’s no surprise that the harmonies raise the experience to the highest level as the combination is greater than merely the whole if it’s parts. Toby, Scott, and Tim did a terrific accompaniment for the quartet of voices in glorious praise! Thanks to all of those that made the Foxes and Fossils music a part of our lives over the years! May all of you brilliant performers, your families, and indeed all who enjoy this gift, enjoy a most heart-warming and festive holiday filled with music and fellowship. Merry Christmas!🎄 💚❤️🎄
I remember singing this with my cousin Cindy at my churches Christmas Eve candlelight service when we were around 12 yrs. old. Makes me tear up having listened to her like this. She died 20 years later from anorexia, alcohol and congestive heart failure due to the anorexia. I hoped she received Jesus into her heart before she passed.
The simplicity of your production of this many times recorded hymn renders it freshly and with profundity. Sublime. Ethereal. Transcendent. Thank you for this gift of music at its most spiritually uplifting. The musical harmonies you find together furnish a hope within me that we as humankind can likewise harmonize on ever greater scales.
I've watched & listened (intently) to this video MANY times - and my eyes swell with tears every time: would love to see more of the classic hymns. thanks.
Best vocal version I have ever heard, period. These young ladies have angelic voices, in beautiful harmony. I'm listening to this after the holidays, but it doesn't really matter. Beautiful music is beautiful all year round.
Toby's guitar playing is so perfect! That man is truly amazing!! It's like he brings whatever instrument he plays to life!! The quietness and softness of his playing throughout this song, truly draws you in to focus on the true meaning behind the lyrics. Absolutely beautiful arrangement and rendition of a favorite and classic Christmas hymn. Well done guys!
Now I'm not a religious person by any stretch of the imagination, however, I swear I just heard angels singing. That totally blew me away. Thank you from New Zealand.
Unbelievable! Incredible! Angelic!! There are not enough superlatives to describe the Foxes and Fossils rendition of this song. I have tears in my eyes and it's no where near Christmas yet. They are simply in a league of their own!
Maggie, Sammie, and Chase, and all you fellow Fossils: In this hated-filled world, it brings GREAT JOY to my heart to see people, young and old who are not ashamed to bear witness to their Chistian faith, and to praise God in public. God bless every one of you! 🙏🙏🙏💖💖💖 Michael in Omaha
After the countless hours I've spent listening to F&F on my computer and in my car with their CD's, I feel like I'm part of an F&F family. I spent Christmas alone this year but I didn't feel alone partly because of the joy I get from this extended F&F family. What a lovely music Christmas gift you've bestowed on me. I thank you with tears of joy.
Spent this Sunday morning listening to F&F for about 2 hours now ... we are still in lockdown and this has made everything so much more bearable ... thank you F&F. Just love your music ...
@@scottking9061 Dear Scott, Wherever you are in heaven, please know that your kind response to me two years ago has brought more tears of joy along with tears of sorrow over losing you. We all miss you.
Wow. I have been an F&F fan for a while now, and utube never brought this to me until tonight. I'm floored, I'm literally in tears. This was always my favorite Christmas song, but I never knew the name. Thank you!
If I had one wish, anything at all, I would wish that all of you would live forever and keep making music for the world to see just how good it can be.
And my heart melted... In the midst of a hectic day, you brought this wonderful message in glorious song. Thank you so much. May God bless each of you.
2000+ years ago the three wise men came from afar to witness a miracle. And now the three wise Foxes have come from afar back to Atlanta to give us another Christmas miracle (well, almost.) Liking the split-screen views so we can really feel the live-choir effect.
Splendid. Watched this last year and again just now. With so many lovely's to watch it's amazing that I noticed the Martin D28-S. I have one of those which I bought in 1972 a year after it's creation ('71). Still almost like new and sounds great. Made this even extra special. Merry Christmas and thanks ....
Besides the beautiful harmonies, with their expert balance and blend, this group articulates the words properly - as if they had been trained by a talented chorale director. In addition, singing three and four part harmony correctly takes a good ear and a lot of talent - which this group obviously has. Thanks for singing this Christian song from the heart.
Watching and listening to you glorify GOD with the immense talents HE has Blessed you with is a Blessing to all of us out here in your fan base! Thank you!
I'm not a religious person but I like to hear Christmas songs because it takes me back to being a child with my family. Christmas was a big deal in my house and we celebrated as much as we could afford. I think it was the only time of year that my father didn't drink. My family is all dead now, but this helps me remember the better times of my youth.
Such a beautiful rendition, you ladies harmonize like Angels. Sammie, that was perfect. Maggie and Chase, too beautiful for words. Thanks to you and the fossils for a hymn I won't forget.
This is my favorite group of all time!! (I was born in the 40s - so you know I have heard a lot of groups). These young ladies have absolutely beautiful voices. The instrumentation is perfect, this group (including the fossils 😉) is THE BEST!
I have listened to this more often over the past six months than to any other recording of a Christmas carol over any period of time in my life. This classic has simply never been sung more beautifully.
I have been listening to this all through my Christmas season. Tim this is for you, I can tell you love the Lord by the emotions you display when you sing. That makes me grateful daily brother. I share those emotions. You singing with your daughter has to be a blessing. I can't share that as I lost my daughter in 2012. Life is not the same. Maggie, you are the sweetest I have ever seen, and I see our Lord's love just in the way you smile. Sammie, you are so cute, and your pitch perfect voice is such a joy to listen to. Do more harmonica if you can, that is really special. Chase you are a child sent from heaven with such a grown up voice. You have a wonderful gift that I think you could go where even Maggie and Sammie couldn't. You got it girl! Fossils, to say you are great is just such a miss understatement. Your sound rings in my head and heart every day. I could only aspire to play as you do. To all of you May God Bless your lives, Keep you in His protection and Guide you daily to be the best He wants you all to be. Merry Christmas, and may Jesus Christ always grace your lives. You are that much of a blessing to us here on earth.
There is a simplicity in the atmosphere that's communicated from you to us, a relaxed, sit back and close your eyes, and rest. That's music. That's heart. And that's life.
Nicely done. Glad to see you are still making beautiful music together. I just got my wife hooked. Also loved harvest moon. Better than the original Neil Young. Keep em coming! When are you touring?
June 2022 and still listening to this beautiful rendition. Yes, the harmonies are sublime and the girls are gorgeous .... but .... Scott .. the bass is out of this world. The effort put in at 0.39 says it all. You are greatly missed.
I've been enjoying this beautiful Christmas carol since I was a boy back in the early 50's, and this version is the most beautiful version I've ever heard. F&F needs to be heard by everyone. What talent!
Never mind the "like" button......where is the "love this" button?........so nice to see all back together again.......as an older musician, I know putting this together takes a bunch of time......it would be so great for F & F to do a complete Christmas record........hey.....at least you have this one......it's a start........just great !!!!!!
As an ex-choral participant and director, getting multiple voices to become one is the ultimate goal. This performance is definitely an example for any group of singers to aspire to replicate. I’m perpetually impressed at how perfect these gifted artists perform regardless the musical genre. Thanks for a moving rendition of a precious piece of music. And Happy Holidays from a secular humanist super fan. .
I have sung in a choir and i have heard many people sing this song but THIS is and this is greatest rendition of this song i have ever heard. So complex and fine and peaceful. Thank you
I just spent the past 2 days driving home for Christmas Because of a minor glitch in my XM radio I had to listen to local radio stations I heard a lot of versions of this song on the radio while i was driving , getting fuel and eating in restaurants and your version is now my gold standard of how this song should sound . Merry Christmas
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. It literally brought tears to my eyes. I wish you would record a full Christmas CD. It would sell out so fast you wouldn't be able to keep up with the demand. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Merry Christmas, to Tim, Sammie, Maggie, Chase, Toby, Scott, Johnny, and Darwin! Sharing your wonderful talents has been a truly appreciated gift to my wife and me over the years. Wishing you all a beautiful Holiday season!
