c64power.com - the X-Type was based on the Mondeo platform and built by Jaguar under Ford ownership but I’m not sure about the Volvo.

@@xjsteve OK, that V40 is first gen which is (last) built on Volvo's own platform, second gen was built on Ford's.

@@C64Lover They used to have to modify them so the drivers didn't die, CB Contact is for cars with modern safety standards, seems like a pretty small oval, so they don't go that fast either. Spedeworth, who run most bangers in the UK, still require the modifications. I've seen some really scary hits from the "Firecracker", one of the biggest banger events that people "save up" the best cars for.

Its determined by laps, so in a way both are true, the last man standing usually is first because he completed the most laps, not always true though

@@dmc7642 cool, yeah same I come from a family of racing. My Grampa was one of the people who help start cheetahs up. I'm only doing two banger meeting at cheetahs this year, going to be racing at angmering after the last meeting at cheetahs this year until cheetahs start up again next year

@@WilfoJnr301 yeah my grandad raced At matchams back in the day. and tbh I thi k that's where it all started from haha I love it with a passion. have a lot of friends that race and love it I can't wait to give it a go not much left to save got the money up together for a roll cage fuel tank and the car. but need storage space and someone to take me out and help me find and build an old rotter as all my mates are always fully loaded unfortunately haha and when is the next meeting pal.?

This Sunday is caplin cup, but still no spectators I think. My dad raced in the late 80's to late 90's. Yeah it takes a lot of saving up to start racing
