Nice review! I didn't know about Voigtlander until before my RF mania and a German friend mentioned her dad had one. Anyway, I love shooting the 21mm 1.8 on an M240. I'm also fond of the Zeiss ZM 28mm. After all, they're both from Cosina, who has a great reputation.
Will you use this one or the new fe 21 f3.5 on a sony a7iii? I do own a Minolta MC 21 2.8 but soon I have a trip to Europe and I would like an excellent wide angle, so, thinking on buying one of these voigt to compare them with my Minolta , and keep the best one. Enjoying my 58 mm 1.4 on my sony thank you to your recommendation :)
I use the Voigtländer 21/f 1.8 on my Leica M - great lens. Voigtländer was founded 1756 in Vienna, Austria, moved to Braunschweig in Germany in 1849 and is today owned by the German RINGFOTO-Group. Cosina builts has the lincense to built Voigtländer lenses.
You still have it? How do you like it? I'm thinking on buy one for a a7iii with techart too to cover that field of view on a future trip, I want to travel light so the tamron, the fe 85 and was thinking on this one...thanks
I again fell prey to the Voigtlander magic... I am loving the voigts I have.. latest purchase is the 50mm 1.5.... hats off to you my friend, from your insights I now sport some nifty Nikon ais old school primes in f2 and a good number of these wonders... love them all for the classic rendering another winner here but man the cost at 800-900 used... anyone want me to try out a used copy ? haha
Buy an adapter from M mount to Fuji, go into shooting settings-mount adapter setting- select adapter, mount lens, select M setting on front of camera. Is a manual lens so you will also have to go into AF/MF settings select AF-MF turn on then select MF assist and set to preferred method usually PEAK and select color, Red is a good setting. Also vids available on RU-vid to show you how to do this.
But isnt it a little like a teleconverter that is also an adapter too. Or the glassless version would turn the lens into a macro lens that cant focus to infinity.
u must like the nikon ais 20 2.8 then.. I have lots of old glass from ai ais days due to your help and influence at AMAZING pricing for what I get .. thinking of a 17 18 19 20 21 to add..
never use m mount lenses on other than leica... the lens is too close to the sensor and the sensors on somy has anti aliasing filter which leica doesnt.
Wow... Samurai Swords? Really? Because its made in Japan you're bringing out the stereotypes? What would you say about German lenses? Probably something about Hitler or Sauerkraut no doubt. And Canadian lenses smell like beer? Or God forbid you review a lens made in Africa, I suppose you would like those better than fried chicken. Unbelievable.
