Really wonderful! Anil Da was himself a legendary music director as well as playback singer who is also credited with pioneering playback singing in India films and it was towards the end of Anil Da's career as musical director that the Nayyar-Salil duo shot to fame with their extraordinary talents that produced timeless 'Chaen se ham ko kabhi'(Pran Jaye Par Vachan Na Jaye) in Ashaji's tinkling voice and 'Anchal mein saja lena kaliyan' in Rafi's divine voice (Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon)-'Na itna tu mujh se pyar badha(Chhaya) by Hemant Da' and 'Toote huey khwabon ne ham ko sikhaya hai'(Madhumati) again in Rafi Sahib's voice, respectively. Alas! Golden Days are no more now in terms of music and theme!

In present era thousands of film music directors are playing in movies,but I can not recall a single name whose composition finds place in my heart. Gone those days when such a musician existed.
Anil Vishwas dada appreciated too many music directors of Hindi film except my all time favourite music duo Shankar Jaikishan, Anil da is most respectable music maestro, it's very strange he liked every music maestro except SJ !!!
Hats off to Ashaji and OP for the song Chain Se Humko Kabhi. In those days magnetic track used to pick exactly what singers sang, unlike todays scenario where you can correct every flaw in the voice by software. Singers had to be really perfect and unparallel. Can any one suggest contemparary songs known for the voice and perfection of a singer?

About Salilada, he was a complete music director. But the song, Mai Ek Baadal Awara is complete lift from Mozart Symphony. I admire him for his original work like, Jago Mohan Pyare, Naa Jane Kyoun Hota Hai Yeh Zindagi Ke Saath, Ae Dil Kahan Teri Manzil etc.

Op nayyar is surely a legend but none comes near to salil da.. Salil chowdhury is the greatest musical genius india has ever witnessed.. sorry to say anil ji couldn't comprehend the immensity of the phenomenon called salil chowdhury's music.. he only talked about the mozart inspired song and then nothing.. he forgot about the numerous raag based songs with crazy antaras and sancharis and forgot to mention about the rich and unique tunes he created, which are different but beautiful, mysterious but mystical..he also forgot that how salil chowdhury created his own style and then also how versatile he was.. if there were shankar jaikishan instead of anil ji, they would've describe salil da rightfully..
Dear Bettadapura. Elated, as you are a great fan of O. P. Nayyar! Me too. I would like to add that, he was the only Magic Musician whose music has no expiry. It heals the heart beat of the young and old alike. Old will become youngsters while listening to his music. His 60 year old music is still fresh in our hearts.

Sab Bengali composers apne Bengali bhai Kishore ko hit kerwane mein lage thay, sirf RD Burman is mein kaamyab hua, sirf iss liye ke RD Burman ney Western songs ko copy kiya aur Kishore finally 15 saal baad hit hua lol.
Op nayyar had made immortal tunes for sure.. but sorry to say, he was only a tune maker not a complete music director.. in contrast Salil chowdhury composed even the orchestral music for his songs.. he created real music not only tunes.. melody itself is not music, but melody ornamented with rhythm or harmony is the real music.. which only Salil da could make.. in this way Salil da was way greater than op nayyar..
Anil Biswas and Salil Choudhry both are pro bengalis. They never appreciate the talent of rafi saab. Particularly Salil da was jealous of rafi saab. He was not happy with rafi saab song of madumathi.
