This is the perspective of veteran skate photographer Grant Brittain as he talks about the surprising significance of the original invert photo. At the time no one knew this photo would come to represent the Chin Ramp more then anything else. We follow Tony Hawk, Lance Mountain, Mike McGill and Steve Caballero come together on the rebuilt Chin Ramp to recreate one of the most memorable skate photos in history.

Lance used to be amazing at inverts, it is just astounding. I'd say it looks like him and Tony do them about equal now. I'd say that's proof enough that he deserves to be there.

Just for starters, who does a handplant on a spine? So radical. And they captured the iconic photo perfectly. At first glance it's hard to tell them apart. Nicely done!

Not just who does them, but who stalls them on a spine like Lance did 30 years ago? Learning to stall like that you have to fall both ways, back into the ramp over yourself and over on to the deck to learn that balance point. Doing it on a spine has to be so freaky.
