New Town Burnout Monkey Riches Brother Sport Mercury Man Animal Collective's album Centipede Hz available now: ac.dominorecordco.com/ac/album... Tour dates: www.myanimalhome.net/tickets/
i remember being at this show and the crowd being very confused for a lot of the newer songs they performed.little did we know we were hearing what would be centipede hz. seems like forever ago...
Seeing them March 23rd in SLC, UT. Can't wait! too stoked! will be my first Animal Collective show, will definitely mark a spot in my history and I'm sure others as well.
found it, you are awesome, thanks for your kindness and quick response time! and the upload of course. great video. Hope they release a full blueray of tons of songs from the tour with this quality.
Good lord this is by far the best live performance I've seen from them during the Centipede Hz era. Just one more month til Bonnaroo! Sorry Pretty Lights, no way I'm missing a single second of their set:)
They have absolutely crazy energy really, but that might just be a personal opinion. Some of the best nights of my life have been spent with them and a lil shrooms
You should have... My lady and I went to AnCo, twas the best show I saw all weekend. Plus we still caught 2 hours of Pretty Lights after. I dont know how anyone could waste a whole night with pretty lights honestly. Its the same shit after a half hour..
I saw Pretty Lights the last timeI went to Bonnaroo in 2011. He was aaawesome but I'm definitely catching Animal Collective. They've been in my top five for a loong loooong long time. Listen to Merriweather Post Pavilion, or any album in fact, but that's my personal favorite and gives you a good idea of what Animal Collective is about.
Brand new song they played just for that one show! One of my friends talked to Panda Bear after the concert and got his autograph and stuff as well as the setlist. He posted a photo of it later, and it looks like the song was called "Read the Description". No idea why he'd call a song that. He's got a weird sense of humour, I guess.
Interesting! I guess you'd seen a lot of videos of their Merriweather tour then. They had two guitars basically all of the time for most of the tours before that. There are only a couple of really old videos (from around 2000-2002) with Panda sitting down at the drums though.
There are definitely a lot of extra effects and visuals added to this video in post production even though they also used light and visuals in their set. Not a stupid question, it just shows they did a good job integrating everything.
oh, look at the Centipede Hz page and go to Mercury Man, and then on that page there's a link to "2011 version" or something like that. hope you can find it!
Check out lyrical collective! It's a website made by dedicated fans that has a lot of the lyrics they used in live shows before they changed the words in the studio for the album. "To talk to someone in the heart of nowhere Soon to be rollin' in the lonely To love with someone in the heart of nowhere Soon to be cold and be lonely To sleep with someone in the heart of nowhere Soon to be cold and be lonely To work with someone in the heart of nowhere Soon to be rollin' in the lonely" Look right?
seen both live. animal collective is perfect for tripping. I saw paper diamond during the day tho and hate tripping during the day but it was a great set nonetheless
thanks for the site, awesome.. i just realized this live version was before it hit studio. interesting. i like the live sound of this song way more. just sounds awesome. where did you find the lyrics for this particular show on that site? i searched mercury man prospect park.
I guess a lot of it depends on whether at the time you feel like going to see an electronic rock band or a solo electronic musician. Have you seen Pretty Lights live before?
