i ended up buying a second 3DS so i can use both of my new leaf copies together via local if i ever need the visiting function at all. this makes me so sad though, truly the end of an era. for me it’s definitely the dream suite that’s gonna hit the hardest.

@@rururusack Expensive my ass. It has been running like 10 to 12 years after the 3DS was discontinued. If it was so freaking expensive they would have shut it down long ago. Also, Nintendo has billions of yen in the bank, they're filthy rich crapitalists, and have more money in the bank than 12 average Jow Blow like you and I could ever hope to gather in one lifetime. But Nintendo will fail to destroy our precious and beloved ACNL online community thanks to Pretendo and there's nothing Nintendo can do to stop Pretendo, even if they tried, there will always be groups like Pretendo who will rise up in defiance against Nintendo and tell Nintendo that if they want to take away our precious ACNL online community they'll have to pry it out of our cold dead hands, Nintendo can't stop Pretendo because Pretendo is not just a group of people, it is an idea, and you can't kill an idea, even if Nintendo tried to stop Pretendo, there will always be more groups of people like Pretendo who will not forsake us and who will fight to save and preserve the ACNL online community we love and cherish. When they remove features it kinda makes me not want to play the game anymore. Sure most people wouldn't be playing anymore as new games come out, but for the people who go back and play the classics, should be allowed to keep all the features. I wish nintendo would change their decision seeing how many people want to keep the features.

Also, the 11th feature new leaf if you didn’t know Harves thing with the campers or all that it has Wi-Fi you can have if you talk to Harvey you can just invite your friends over Wi-Fi to go shopping there

I feel like I am literally THE ONLY ONE who has NEVER played Animal Crossing: New Leaf or Animal Crossing New Leaf-Welcome Amiibo/never owned ANY of the Nintendo 3DS Handheld Consoles. Oh well that's ok. I gave up the dream of ever owning a 3DS System and a copy of Animal Crossing: New Leaf and a copy of Animal Crossing New Leaf: Welcome Amiibo a long time ago. I'm happy with being a Nintendo Wii/Wii U/Switch/Switch Lite owner🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵🥲

It's a shame that a big chunk of content will be lost after the server shutdown: Dream Towns (especially Aika Village), CT Online items (Silver Axe, Muumuu, etc.), Katie, Some of the badges...

Pretendo will allow us to use the online islands, but I don't know if it'll be possible to use the dream suite (I sure hope so, I would love to see more dream town). If anyone has informations about whether or not we'll be able to use the dream suite, please let me know. Take care, Mimi.

To this day, I regret resetting my town. I had so much in it. I did a reset in anticipation of ACNH when it was coming out. I'm hoping modders will make this live on *If you haven't updated it, DO IT*

Shutting down 😢.... But yeah, I guess I will spend my final weeks with New Leaf soon. I get the feeling there might be a Dreamcast Situation where some dedicated fans will create custom servers for certain titles once Nintendo's go down, but it's still wait & see for now.

I started playing this game for the first time on April 1st 2024 without knowing it would be shut down, and I never noticed even a slight difference when it was lmao; I’m JUST hearing about it and it’s now the 25th of April😂. My friends and I have only even tried to play it together locally, and I helped Katie literally yesterday that way. I don’t think it really impacts the game dramatically, it’s just less convenient now lol. When I built the Dream Suite I didn’t even think to try it because there’s no real benefit to doing it besides 5000 bells, and the only item I wanted from the spot pass was the “red-horned hat” which seems nearly impossible to get anyways because I think it was a Korean exclusive or something. I’ve had a busy month😂

God bless Pretendo, they will save our precious and beloved ACNL online community from permanent death at the hands of Nintendo. Don't lose hope. Pretendo will gave us back what we lost, what we love and cherish so much. It was a chick in a My Melody dress and shoes who told me about Pretendo on one of the online islands in ACNL (she's convinced that Pretendo and their project will be successful, and it's true that certains groups were sucessful in making homebrew wifi signal for previous consoles, so why not the 3DS) and ever since then, my sadness is mixed with hope because Pretendo will never forsake us and their service will be free of charge so they are NOT crapitalists like Nintendo. People are sending them donations to help, but Pretendo will not charge for the use of the new wifi. Soon, we will again experience this togetherness and the feeling of family whether that be blood or not. :) Take care, I love y'all, Mimi.
