I'm still listening to this repeatedly. The Gamecube music was simplistic and more memorable than the newer OSTs that seemed to focus more on being unique each hour, rather than just the vibes of the overall, total product.
@@arominus7587 I never played that one. I worked games from the DS Lite launch (2006) until just before Zelda: TotK (2023), and the Wii (and later the U) never grabbed me; I play games to have controlled stimulation and calm down (the ‘tism) and found the motion controls incredibly unappealing. My family was v. low-middle class and AC alone wasn’t enough to convince my parents to save for one. 🙂↕️ Don’t regret missing it tbh; the DS delivered on my AC needs, and, you are VERY right; the music on AC:CF didn’t hit the same. Thanks tho; the autism wants GC’s AC music to be hyper-focused on now. 🙂↕️😂
@@sentientrock7 It's more than nostalgia, I wasn't even born when the game released, yet I still love it and I get that weird unexplainable but awesome feeling from its music and visuals.
@@gaker19sc Old videogames are a million times better than what is released nowadays, for sure. More love, more detail, programmed way smarter. Nowadays "nostalgia" really is just another word for "older stuff thats better than what we have today". I stopped playing new games entirely and I suggest you to try and do that as well, maybe pick up an old gamecube and just randomly buy and try out used games u find on ebay or yard sales, it will change your life.
They should make future animal crossing games music with the mindset that it’s a new game on the GameCube so that they sound as good as this soundtrack. No other entry compares
The look on my face when I saw this video pop up. Animal Crossing has brought me unmatchable peace since it came out on the Game Cube. Thank you for uploading something like this.
Hey, this is really cool. It sounds and looks great. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but, this appears to be using an inaccurate game rip. Most rips of this game online use an outdated rip of the N64 version which had a bug in the emulation causing most songs to be about 5% too slow. I can also tell the songs not present in that version were recorded in-game. (That said, the quality is great here compared to most heavily compressed online versions.) I am currently working on a complete, game-accurate rip of all versions of the game. This is not to discredit the amazing work you have done here, and it's very admirable- I just thought I should make it clear.
@@alis.in.wonderland Yeah, once you know the difference , it’s hard to unhear it in all the rips online. It’s a shame because the music's great but it's hard to find good rips… that’s what I seek to rectify.
@@ratqw33n I will definitely be sharing it. If I remember, I'll come back to this comment :) It's a lot of work because I have to memory edit the GameCube game on Dolphin to play songs with no background sounds and dump that losslessly, then manually fade and loop the songs. I've done most of the background music but there are still the K.K. songs and Kapp'n's shanties have also posed an issue. That said, this has kind of revitalized my motivation to finish this…
You can look up the product online and click on pictures and see the names. That’s what I’m going to do for the 2nd track because it’s a masterpiece. I still like Wild World and City Folk a tiny bit more but this is equally good and artistic. It’s wonderful music to just play. No shame.
I just started replaying animal crossing wild world this last month! I have two jobs and a mortgage but man.... if i don't love the simplicity of that wonderful game!
Listening to this while playing New Leaf for the first time since New Horizons came out. Sadly I lost my old game card for NL so I had to get a new one, meaning I cant play my old save...
First 😎- Also was so craving Animal Crossing today, this couldn't be anymore perfect I have huge respect for this channel for having so many of these vinyls :O
Hahaha they kept the same song for Redd’s store. It’s in city folk too which is kinda fun. It’s an uncomfortable track which is intentional because I mean his prices and the fact I’ve only gotten one real art from him in this whole time.
I love Vinyl. I love the pure physical music. Sure, it's a modern turntable, but you could equally take that disk, and put it on a handcrank gramophone and get music.
I love the og animal crossing still it just has a much better feeling to me than new horizons. My first ac was wild world. I played the gamecube back when it released but I guess I just never saw animal crossing
Has the OST been retouched or remastered in any way? I don't see the point of putting a compressed audio rip onto a record otherwise. Well, I do partially, I'd love this record.
2001. Dōbutsu no Mori (Animal Forest), the original Japan-only N64 game, released in April 2001, and the GameCube port that we all know and love released in December 2001. I believe Animal Forest was the last game Nintendo developed and released for the N64 as well.
If this was mastered from archive downloads or ripped straight from the game disc, RU-vid compression shouldn't matter. Was it from them or from that one CD release I'm seeing in searches?
You have a good ear! I saw this in an earlier comment that this appears to be using an inaccurate game rip. Most rips of this game online use an outdated rip of the N64 version which had a bug in the emulation causing most songs to be about 5% too slow.
it's a unofficial record, but it looks amazing, i'm curious how many where released. There atm 2 copies on Discgogs for 300$ crazy men This should be repressed by Nintendo themselfs so many of us want it
