At 60 y/o I just got my first reptile…a BP that I’m so excited to have. He’s beautiful and amazing. I reference your BP care info to make sure I’m doing everything right and he’s doing very well. I know I’ve said this before but watching these medical based videos always brings me back to my days as a vet tech. Because your care is similar to the way we did things 30 years ago. Old school vet care for reptiles can’t be beat as many of the techniques were born out of experimentation to find what worked and what didn’t work. To this day, many vets don’t have that knowledge. 🐍❤️🐍 That motley looks anemic.

That scaleless is so cool! Ive never seen one with zero scale like that. I dont know a ton about them other than reading it happens in the wild occasionally. Really interesting.

Yes, keep the medical videos coming. Don’t have any reptiles, but looking at them very differently now, might have a pet one in the future instead of a dog or cat.

Love these medical videos. When I took care of the university reptiles I had no assistance in herp husbandry. More of everything, please. Kevin, you are the best!!

Interesting with the medical stuff, Snarfles made me subscribe. Showing of the perfect imperfect is the best part of this channel. The love of the imperfect make this channel unique.

I love these medical videos!!! I also love the conservation videos where you guys go out into the wild. King cobras have always been one of my favorite snakes. There is no way I will ever own one so any time you show us Lilith or any other cobra I'm super into it. Then again, I like all animals so no matter what you show, I probably like it.

Ahh. Poor poor Donnye. He loves the attention. I’d too rather have heard what Kevin was saying. You can bet he goes through the comments to see how often he’s mentioned. 😂

Consider me one of the reptile voyeurs. No real interest in owning a reptile (maybe turtles if I ever own a house with a pond) but am very interested in them

Angry pants ball baby was the cutest thing ever. Donny should make cut of just it snapping with pacman sounds. Also I really like medical stuff. Reptile anatomy and treatment is rare to come by and is quite misunderstood so its really nice to see coverage of it.

Thank you all so much for your videos. I always liked snakes but not to have any really I was more of a lizard girl. When my daughter got bit by a rattlesnake I started to watch alot of snake videos to help with not developing a fear of them. Yall are my favorite thw way Kevin understands reptile is awesome. We now have a baby Brooks King Snake and a new skink, it is a wild caught I bought but only bought it because she looked really bad, heat burns on her back, dehydration, dull colors. So I bought her to try and help heal her not to by a wild caught skink....and luckily now that she has a good dish the soak in and a proper habitat she has shed most of he bad is healed. I think some may stay but we don't mind as long as she is healthy and happy. So thank yall for always giving so many facts because even if you never have to use them having them makes you a more comfortable reptile owner!!!

When you were holding all the hatchlings together, one keep striking. You said it was because you were not close to the striking zone. The rest of what to do to prevent that was cut out of the video. Do you put your hands closer?

Seeing that baby, that had the eye inflammation, still being exploratory after the draining procedure is absolutely wonderful. It shows that it wasn't incapacitated by the procedure. I seeing frequent and long tongue flicks, and it appears very comfortable in the sense that it isn't balling up or hiding. I'm sure that a bit of timer has passed but, especially for a Ball, it seems to have reaclimated fairly quickly. Especially for a baby. I use Kevin as a definitive cypher when it comes to animal handling and socialization. I have a friend with a "Bitey" Boa that he typically only reaches in with a hook first and THEN his hand. By watching the animal, looking at it's body position, and keeping it's focus on the hand I had OUTSIDE of the cage I was confident enough to reach in and stroke the snake to let it know I was there and then pick it up. If I'm being honest, the animal was on guard and confused when I first removed it because I had acted outside of its normal routine. However, through knowledge and body language, I was able to de-escalate the situation before any aggressive behavior could be brought to life. Which, is something you want in an animal that could one day become an ambassador. Is what I did wrong? Probably. I broke the chain of events for holding this particular snake instead of feeding it. Most animals are creatures of habit and I interfered with that habit. Was anyone struck at/bitten? No, but that doesn't make what I did right. Would I do it again? As the person who is not the owner, NO. If this animal was transferd into my care permanently then yes I would IF and ONLY IF it continued to react in the same way.

Love it!! I love the format you guys do with just a plethora of sessions talking about a variety of subjects in one video. I'm in Texas (DFW area) but work for a company in Conneticut. Pre-pandemic my team would travel to New England once a month. Right before all of the shut downs, my buddy and I were planning a roadtrip on one of the visits to CT to come visit NERD. Still hoping to complete that one day in the future!

Snakes are such incredibly beautiful creatures. I’ve no desire to keep them, but I really love looking at them. And I’m always fascinated by veterinary care videos.
