1. Jim Henson: Henson created this character and gave him his kind and caring personality. 2. Steve Whitmire: He was the worthy successor to Henson, and Disney wronged him. 3. Artie Esposito: Esposito does a fantastic job channeling in Jim Henson 4. Frank Walker: He does a great job as Baby Kermit, and later on was able to prove he could do the adult voice perfectly. 5. Matt Danner: I haven't really seen much of the reboot but from what I hear he sounds pretty good. 6. Matt Vogel: It sounds very off... 7. Brian Cummings: WHAT?!
Jim’s of course the best but Steve was great, definitely made it his own. That new guy Steve was fired over is actually terrible. There’s no life to it. It’s just a dude doing an impression. The Got Talent guy is way better
Jim Henson was the original puppeteer and voice of Kermit. After Jim's death in 1990, Steve Whitmire, who joined the Muppets back in 1978, accepted an offer from Jim's son Brian Henson, to take over as Kermit the Frog. Steve portrayed Kermit from 1990 until October 2016, when he was fired from the role by Disney, partly due to Whitmire having irked showrunners during production of this series, by providing detailed notes over what the Muppet characters would and would not do. Matt Vogel was then handed the role of Kermit after Whitmire's departure.
I'll be real, this is practically Jim's other son so of course nobody does Kermit better than Jim Henson. Although, Steve does an equally excellent job as Kermit! At one point I thought Steve was actually Brian Henson. I must say, though, who knew Frank Welker could do good as Kermit also! Gotta love Frank!
Before Jim Henson passed away, he and Steve Whitmire had the same birthday. Jim was born on September 24, 1936. And Steve was born on September 24, 1959.
It things like that, that make me think a person was meant to voice a certain character, similar to how Casey Kasem and Matthew Lillard was both born in Michigan and they both voiced Shaggy.

No, he deserves his fans that grew up with his Kermit. Just like the ones who grew up with Jim’s Kermit. I guess they’ll be Vogel diehards too one day?!
I would, but when Steve Whitmire was fired, that meant that all of Jim's influence was gone. Matt got Kermit because of auditions, not because Jim had picked him to continue his legacy. The Muppets, don't have that feeling that they used to, which is why Frank Oz left, and why Steve Whitmire was fired. They cared too much for the muppets.
@@TheGarfieldGuy Steve was the absolute best. His favorite project was Fraggle Rock. He was very sad when he was not asked to be a part of the reboot. I refuse to watch it because he isn't involved.
@@Asukenick Yeah, I saw that interview, and I feel bad for him. He seems like such a kind man, and he is, and I hate the Hensons for trying to paint him to be this big bad "evil villain" or something. He actually cares about the muppets, while the present cast probably don't
Jim Henson and Steve Whitmire. Thank god Peter Linz who plays Ernie in 2017 sound a lot like Kermit, wish he get a role of Kermit but I will give Matt Vogel a credit to keep Kermit’s voice alive than he did before.
@@mhendra33 i'm glad! i honestly think Danner would've made a better replacement than Vogel. sure his voice is a little higher than adult Kermit's, but it's not too hard to just talk a little deeper lmao.

No one can come close to the late great Jim Henson, though Steve is probably the only man who can replace him I do love Frank's take on baby kermit too
John Kennedy performed Kermit on the “Muppets Ahoy” Disney Cruise Line show from 2006. I hope a Muppet fan finds complete or partial footage of the show, because it’s a piece of Muppet lost media.
frank welker is responsible for the over exaggeration of what many believe kermit’s voice to sound like today 😂 still like it though, jim henson and steve’s are just way more natural have more depth and character and more human.

Jim, Steve and Frank did fantastic jobs. Jim created and defined Kermit, Steve may not have done a perfect impression but he made the role his own and put so much heart into it. Frank is a fantastic impressionist in general,so it makes sense that hed do a good job.
Jim Henson is the best and timeless voice. Steve Whitmire is really good and is definitely trying to be like Jim and I even heard Steve had a dream one time where Jim told him to try your best to be Kermit and he delivered. Matt Vogel is definitely the worse voice. Honestly that one scene with his voice is kinda why I hate him. Personally he just said more like Constantine when he tried to act like Kermit in Muppets Most Wanted. So really its like Constantine is pretend to be Kermit again but this time actually acts like him and not playing fake. I know that’s not the real reason but that’s what I kinda see.
Yeah...after hearing this, Matt Vogel is AWFUL. It just sounds like he's using what seems to be his normal speaking voice. 😕 I honestly can't stand hearing his dopey "Big Bird" voice.
