They're both the best of the best, but I think i've got a softspot for the slightly gruffer, more natural delivery Lillard's performance has evolved into
The late Casey Kasem. The most comedic and paranoid of the bunch. Matthew Lillard is a worthy successor. It’s interesting that the live action actor of an established cartoon character went on to voice the character officially. Scott Innes was a pretty decent replacement though.
@@ashwegerle4838Despite Casey Kasem voiced Shaggy until his retirement in 2009, he temporarily stopped voicing the character during the 90s because he was a vegan and was asked to voice Shaggy for a Burger King commercial. IIRC, when Kasem came back to voice Shaggy during the 2000s, Shaggy was a vegan.
Obviously, Casey Kasem is the best and most legendary Shaggy, but MAN Matthew Lillard came in a great second place, he nailed the voice almost identically!
For me it's a tie between Casey Kasem (still miss him) and Matthew Lillard. These guys were BORN to play Shaggy and I can't decide which is better. I think Scott Innes, Billy West and Will Forte are also really good
My favourites are both the Original Shaggy himself Casey Kasem, and Matthew Lillard the first live actor of Shaggy did an amazing job as Casey Kasem's successor.
"hahaha hey scoob how are you? i'm doing amazing! i just stuffed some children into animatronics and kill them HAHAH how are you scoob?" scoob:"shaggy you need a therapist"
Scott Innes is my Twin Brother's favorite voice for Shaggy. His voice was just right during 1999, 2000, and 2001. 😃. My Twin brother loves his voice so much he chooses that one specifically whenever he does his Shaggy impression.
Same honestly, It's a mix between Matthew and Scott. At first I was like, why that one but I just can't help it, it's iconic to me since Scooby Doo Project
1. Casey Kasem: The legend! 2. Matthew Lillard: Lillard's voice for Shaggy is a great successor for Kasem, and it helps that he was live action Shaggy. 3. Billy West: Despite having a bit of Fry and Doug Funnie in there, he is a great stand in for Kasem. After this a short drop. 4. Will Forte: No, it doesn't sound like the others but it's a good performance if he just add a bit more rasp to it. 5. Scott Innes: As much as I like him as Scooby and Scrappy he is miscast here. 6. Scott Menville: This sounds too much like Zack from "Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?" I don't like it. 7. Sam Richardson: I don't care for "Velma" so this speaks for itself.
I grew up with Scott Innes. I really didnt watch much Scooby Doo except for Mystery Incorporated while growing up, but i absolutely loved Scooby Doo First Frights and Scooby Doo and the Spooky Swamp.
My favorites are a TIE between the OG Casey Kasem and Matthew Lillard, matthew is so good as Shaggy that he have pretty much become the voice of Shaggy, the rest are also great...........with one obvious exception...........yeah the Velma one is easily the worst Shaggy hands down.
I think Casey Kasem WAS the best Shaggy until Matthew Lillard later on played Shaggy, making himself the "original" Shaggy now so now he irrefutably IS the best Shaggy in present times. Scott Innes is also one of the great voices of Shaggy for games but not suitable enough for cartoon movies. While on the other hand I don't understand under what circumstances were Will Forte and Sam Richardson hired to play the voice of Shaggy when you have the original Shaggy Matthew Lillard (or even Scott Innes as an alternative in the absence of Matthew)
Matthew Lillard of course he has an amazing Shaggy voice and he even did the Shaggy voice in front of his daughter, and I love Matthew Lillard 😍🥰 Matthew Lillard is so 🥵❤🔥
Scott innes voiced shaggy and scooby in the games night of 100 frights and mystery mayhem. His work makes shaggy feel most at home for me, but the others are great too, especially Matthew illard and casey kasem
Matthew is just perfect for the role. It's crazy how well they did casting him in the live action movie. I also love Billy West. Sam just sounds like a dude. Like, i would never know that was shaggy or even a cartoon character at all just by listening.
Casey Kasem and Matthew Lillard would be my favorite voices for Shaggy, although Billy West, Scott Innes, Scott Menville and Marc Silk are not bad in my opinion. I don't fully dislike the performances of the two most recent actors to voice him, they just seem not to quite capture either the familiar spirit or vocal idiosyncrasies of Shaggy as much.
Not that Scott Menville was a bad choice for Shaggy. It’s actually kinda fitting seeing how Menville is no stranger to Scooby Doo media. Also helping the fact is that Kasem played Robin in the 60s Superfriends cartoons and Menville just played Robin in Teen Titans. So it actually makes sense. But again, I think it’s more of the direction.
Caney Kasem billy west Scott ,innes Scott menville for a little while, Matthew lillard will Forte and I remember Scooby Doo on boomerang but I never Saw a boomerang commercial when shaggy said that.
I love Billy West's Shaggy sooo much more than I ever liked Scott Innes'! I feel like West's is really incredibly underrated but it makes sense seeing as he only did it for Zombie Island..
From top to bottom on my favorite Shaggys. 1 = Best and 7 = Okay-ish 1. Casey Kasem 2. Matthew Lillard 3. Scott Innes 4. Billy West 5. Scott Menville 6. Will Forte 7. Sam Richardson
Damn most of these voice actors reallu naled it. Scott M sounds like Robin from teen titans with massive paranoia lol (i know its the same voice actor)
Also my impression is more in line with Zombie Island Shaggy and my friend is more like a Mathew lillard shag. And my favorite is all of them because shaggy stays on top even with will forte
Matthew Lilard and Casey Kasem are the best and OG’s for playing the voice of Shaggy since the beginning when I was growing up and now ugh the feels all over ❤❤❤❤❤
