Kevin also teaches her about older animation. I wouldn't mind that as a series - He draws anime influenced by what Jackie tells her and she draws older (Hannah Barbera and earlier) based on what Kevin tells her. They get a look in the beginning of the character they draw.

It took me 10 episodes to understand his art. At first I thought he was bad. He's actually a great artist, but I guess all the drawing prompts he's gotten so far (plus the really short time they get to draw them) was uninspiring for him. I really liked when he drew Linda from Bob's Burgers. That's when his art style just kinda clicked for me and I can appreciate some previous ones (Peach and Spongebob mostly).

I guess it's a style of cartoon if you wish to call it that but it really should be called anime. Like do you call and apple an orange just because there both fruit? No. So you shouldn't call anime a cartoon just because there both animations
