Hello Everyone! In this week's video, I am drawing myself into anime screen captures. I'm editing three screenshots to include myself in the scenes. The animes I am using scenes from are, School Babysitters, Haikyuu, and Healin' Good Pretty Cure! To create the illustrations I am using Clip Studio Paint.

Tracing is not always bad, there's a difference between tracing for yourself without claiming it as your own & tracing arts for commissions.

To be honest with you, considering that she shaded everything quite impressively, I don’t think that changes the fact how amazing she is at drawing in general! So ye :]

Tracing like this is a fun way of understanding different art styles and techniques, as well as being great practice for beginners. It's less of "trying to copy an art style" and more of gaining an understanding of the art and analyzing the style. You take great note of line thickness and color, brush styles, and color pallets. Honestly, this is a very good challenge for artists wanting to understand specific styles.

You should try give it a shot! It may take time n effort but I believe u can do it too. It’s a long road to getting good at art and through the video it’s obvious how much time and love she put into learning this craft. It’s by no means easy but it’s possible with effort.

I've never seen your videos before but this was super fun! As an artist myself, I say don't stress too much about the tracing/copying. You've already made it clear this is for fun and what you were doing! :) Not everyone has the time to sit down and learn a new style in depth for something that is meant to be quick and fun after all. Also I think you did a great job! It was fun to see Highschool Babysitters referenced here, I haven't watched the anime yet (no time) but I'm very familiar with the manga! :)

Rewatching this after finishing season 3 of Haikyuu definitely hits different. I know who Kiyoko and Yachi are, laughed at Rebekah pulling her colors from _Asahi_ of all people, understood the height references of Sugawara and Kageyama, knew that Hinata is a shorty with bright orange hair, and just in general loved it more.

I think it's funny that while tracing is ethically wrong for when your presenting art as your own, yet when your learning or practicing counterfeiting is one of the first skills you learn.

Indeed, and for pretty good reasons, for example when I started tracing as a kid, I learned there is a memory muscle memory to it, like a feeling and natural motion to the art style you are doing, learning it I can redraw pictures from scratch pretty well, and though it is tracing, in a sense, it is actually just simply the art style you are doing. Also, people complain and don't seem to know the difference between straight copy and paste, to tracing, to simply retracing the art from scratch. Taking someone's art as yours is bad, but at the same time, it's funny how to start and learn you need to practice, and some of the best is by doing someone's else's art for some.

@@hearty-ooo3376 none of what you said is wrong. The skills I learned related to upscaling and downscaling a piece and by doing that with someone else's work I also learned how to shade and add texture to a drawing. I hate photo realism but I'd be damned if it didn't teach me any skills.

OMG, You should definitely draw yourself in My Hero Academia! They all have pretty unique quirks or powers, and it’s pretty hard to make up a quirk. But you’ll probably make up one easily based on your preference. Please draw yourself in that anime and I also think you should draw yourself in Naruto or a magical or power type of anime.

Making a quirk aint that hard , you just need a power and a weakness Example: Quirk: Yin Pseudo Type: Emitter Description: A quirk that allows the user to feed off the negative energy emitting from people within a 100 meter radius and can use that energy to form anything or _anyone_ the user desire Weakness: the more negativity the user absorbs the higher chance of the user to lose control and once that happens the user will become evil until the stored up negativity runs out
