I am one hell of a sucker for culture and I would clap for hours on end for stuff like this or appreciate it for hours . It's just so unbelievably wonderful that they are keeping the culture alive even if not as frequently as in the past these performances are done . It still is impressive how precise it is

@@EmmAPestilenciA okay... first off, oiran and geisha are two different things. oiran were high ranking courtesans, being the highest rank of the other yuujo, or sex workers. they were not geisha. geisha are entertainers who traditionally did not take clients like oiran, and they still exist today while oiran do not. so any oiran dochu you see today is a reenactment...there are no real oiran left anywhere now because prostitution was outlawed in japan... so her 'job' is an actress and performer.
