A Silent Voice...changed me. Made me cry 4 times. I related to it hard. The bullying, depression,...the love. Fuck man...I've seen it so many times and now own it physically. Favorite movie for probably the wrong reasons.

I am an emotionless person who never cried on any shows But in "Your lie in April" when Kaori cried on Kousei arm and "Spring will be here soon. Spring, the season I met you, is coming. A spring without you is coming" these 2 parts made me cry 😢

"Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms", especially near the end when "mommy is sorry but she has to break her promise" - never cried so hard to an anime in my life. Films that show the dark side of immortality, like the first Highlander film, always get me.

Clannad was sad. The feels hit like a truck.

I just finished Banana Fish and I cried so much. I could start crying again, just thinking of it right now. Absolutely one of the best and saddest Animes I ever watched.

remember when i watch Anohana i cry so much at the ending that my 8 yo keep coming to me to give me hugs. seing everyone reading the small words she left to them, why she love them was a tears jerking, but seeing she only write to Jinta she love him always broke me. first time i saw that movie i was SOAKED in sweat at the end. Your lie in april hit me a lot too. I saw a silent voice like 10 time and makes me cry everytime too.

To Your Eternity absolutely devastated my entire state of being. It basically speedruns emotional damage and by episode 5 I was full on sobbing, episode 13 I took a break cause I got too attached to this character that then proceeded to die on me.

I don't think any show can make me cry like Your lie in April did

I honestly cried the most in a random scene in Hunter x Hunter, the scene where Bloster I think his name was, took Reina back to her village and she hugs her mom and her mother tells her she will always recognize her even as a ant. That shit makes me tear up every time for some reason.

I cant believe they went 17 mins without mentioning Your lie in April or Violet Evergarden.

I can kind of sympathise with Garnt, I 'd watch something very emotional that would cause other people to cry, but I've got some kind of mental block that doesn't allow me to cry. I've gotten extremely close to the point I'd get misty-eyed (most recent example I can remember would be watching Your Name for the first time) but I haven't truly shed a tear since I was in my early teens.

Vinland Saga's last episode has still made me cry more than any whole series. Mostly because of that soundtrack. First that tragic yet conclusive music to one of the characters' deaths,, then the extremely hopeful music to end it off,, there were too many emotions to cope with.

I still cry whenever I get to the end Parasyte just cos it was one of the first manga I ever read that gripped me on an emotional level and despite waiting so long for the anime adaptation it was 100% worth it and more. Parasyte was just amazing, people need to talk about it more

"Your name" when mitsuha opens her hand. .. holy fuck I was so fucking destroyed

Clannad: After Story made me cry so much.. I cried 11 times in total (yes, I counted). All the other anime seem kinda tame in comparison(in terms of cry factor). Another anime that made me cry a lot was Code Geass R2 (4 episodes). The latest anime I've watched that brought me to tears multiple times was Vinland Saga. All of these anime I've mentioned are masterpieces and I wholehearted urge you to watch if you still haven't.

I actually agree with the soundtrack playing a big role, but sometimes the absence of one is even more powerful. A great example for the first id your lie in april. But for the latter the scene in I want to eat your pancreas where he asks if he can cry now and just breaks out and screams just really hit me on another level

When I started watching Angel Beats, people already warned me about how sad it supposedly was, and then I ended up not crying. I saw it coming, though. I was completely prepared to cry my eyes out if we were going to have every character pass on from the school, so when the energetic girl and the blue guy imagined the love life they never had, it got me almost crying. But then the shadow monsters happened and *then* most of them already passed on anyway? And I thought it was a shame.

1:46 episode 1 of steins Gate has such a strong visual intrigue/atmosphere/presence and does a lot to set up subtle and somewhat confusing mystery hooks right in the first episode, I really never got what people meant when they said the first episode is bad

Anyone else not only cry at the sad parts, but the epic parts as well? Like when the triumphant music swells and something amazing is happening, I get so worked up I get tears in my eyes lol

Violet Evergarden made me cry so damn hard. And I've never cried on any show ever, whether anime or not. Just something about the atmosphere, the music, and the struggle to come to terms with grief and loss that hit me like a freight train.

Assassination Classroom's final episode, had me crying. And I watched the anime 5 times though fully. It's such a tear jerker of a scene even if you know the ending

"I want to eat your pancreas" was the first anime to ever make me cry (Sakura didn't deserve to die the way she did). It was someone who recommended it to me. I watched" your lie in April"( the seasonal anime) about a day later..I was so depressed after listening to Kaori's letter and Kousei Arima's last line(a spring without you is coming) there were other scenes in the anime that were a bit depressing..buh after listening to the closing of the last episode of The anime , especially seeing that it was literally a tribute to Kaori Miyazono ,I couldn't stop crying. Isla's death from Plastic Memories hit me like a speeding truck. More like lightning if I'm to be more precise .I cried like a baby. And there's violet evergarden ,it had a happy ending especially if u watch the last movie.buh there's so many downs that are enough to emotionally dent even the toughest of hearts (episode 10 really got me btw) hopefully I don't plan on watching more sad anime in the meantime..I've been depressed after watching these I mentioned to the point I even avoided social media

I think "Wolf Children" was one of my first anime movies ever and I remember getting emotional from it. I also remember crying from "the silent voice". I don't cry a lot, but It really depends how much I'm attached to the characters.

Tokyo Ghoul: Root A made me cry. Because of the animation

Violet Evergarden made me cry the most I have, ever. I binged every episode in one run.. I was crying nearly through each episode. And I consider myself to be quite 'stoic', very few animes make me cry openly, yet alone actively sob a bit. Truly a masterwork.

Komugi and Meruem's arc made me cry harder than I've ever cried.

Things that make me cry: - Anohana - leaves from the vine and avatars love from ATLA - the ending of assassination classroom - the davie episode of hetalia - a silent voice - wolf children - the breakfast scene in erased - fullmetal alchemist (2003 and brotherhood) - listening to omake-pfadlib

Devilman Crybaby 8 and 9 are the most painful back to back episodes to go through. Its very depressing as it shows the evil within society and humans, with the death of certain characters and a father having to make a very hard decision + their realistic reactions. (I purposely left out spoilers)

Had to watch Grave of the Fireflies in a class a few days ago. I was crying halfway through the movie and had to keep it under control so I wouldn't sniffle too loud...

The thing about why ep. 1 of AnoHana (and Steins Gate since it was mentioned; two of my favorite animes of all time ;)) feels like absolute shit after watching it again is because of the fact that you're watching it again. You already know what's about to happen up to how it would end with you crying like a baby again. I remember the first time I watched Steins Gate, it was all literally just because of the first episode. I felt extremely intrigued and felt like shit I need to get satisfaction out of this curiosity. I remember how absolutely shocked I was just because everyone literally disappeared out of the busy streets of Akiba and because of the e-mails Okarin received. Since right after, I just watched it and had fun like being with friends until the disaster happened, which I also remember actually made me cry the first time I watched it due to having to see Mayushii die over and over again until it was Kurisutina's turn of guarding her and the defeat on her voice trying to tell Okarin what happened. It did feel satisfying having seen the end of Steins Gate and I just thought this can't be the end yet, and alas Steins Gate 0. I digress. That was also what actually made me watch AnoHana until the end. It was the mysterious feeling of the "ghost girl" behind Jintan's "stress" and "trauma." It felt like a wild ride seeing as Super Peace Busters go through their emotions from the past they can't seem to get over with, specially the fact that only Jintan can see Menma while the other four just thought Jintan was crazy until Menma literally cooked right in front of them. Rewatching it again, I actually felt how shit the first few episodes were and I just thought, how tf did this thing even develop again with only 11 episodes in its name. But of course even after knowing everything, having watched the movie, having rewatched the final scene of the anime multiple times by this point, my heart still aches and my eyes just want to release every liquid it could release every time I reach that final scene again and again.

The best anime i have ever seen and will never watch again is Grave of the Fireflies. Just watching the trailer makes me cry.

The ending of “ When Marnie Was There “ had me in tears 😭

Never knew people cried so often that they have playlists to make them cry. I don't think I've felt the need to cry without something tragic happening. I used to get goosebumps on cool anime moments or songs but after a certain event, this thing switched to eyes watering and I hate it. It's not that I'm scared to cry, I can do it in public without caring but I'd much rather get chills than watery eyes. Worst part is that it doesn't have to be something sad, even something happy or cool will do that. Weird thing is that it doesn't happen IRL.

Sadly no one mentions Maquia. Whoever not cries at the final scene must have heart of steel.

i am new to anime ..started 2 weeks ago and previously i have always hated anime but now after watching i love theri unique story and way of story telling ..and i have never been affected by the message that parasyte said ..i have watched movies with same concept but with robots but nothing has made question me existence ...and anime like your name and silent voice just made me fill my heart so much and in the most saddest and incomplete ending in 5cm/sec but still motivated me to watch it as we expected it ...i m loving anime now but i stick to movies and 1 season anime ..i dont have time for big one

I know this show gets a lot of flack but to this day the one scene that always gets me emotional is Jinora getting her Airbending tattoos in The Legend of Korra season 3 finale. No cheap death scene, not a generic reunion. Just pure emotional brilliance. Seeing a broken Korra drop a tear during Jinoras Coronation is so fucking heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. You devestated to see Korra like this but also over joyed to see Jinoras become an Airbending Master

the ending of made in abyss, utilizing kevin penkin's godly ost "tomorrow" was the icing on the cake for that series, i fucking cried to that; the buildup and what it took to get to that point, the atmosphere was absolutely breathtaking

Anytime an anime deals with loss in a realistic sense it will most likely make me cry. I mean there's that episode of GITS that Batou deals with the guy who thinks he's still at war and it fucks me up every time because they portrayed dealing with war and how it effects those who've been in different ways so well.

The two saddest moments in anime for me weren't even in sad animes: When jiraiya died in naruto and when ace died in one piece. It was because of the fact that at those points in the shows I'd already seen hundreds of episodes and was so emotionally connected to the main characters(naruto and Luffy), when I saw the person most important to them die and how they felt about it just broke my heart. Because overall they are not sad animes, seeing them hit that rock bottom emotionally was so damn sad. Especially because both luffy and naruto are so happy and positive throughout the animes, it made their sadness that much more impactful. In each one, the experience nearly broke them emotionally and to see such strong willed characters be effected so strongly was a tear dropper.

I *used* to find it really hard to cry except in frustration or when something IRL really awful happened, but then... over the years? Holy crap I can start tearing up when just talking about something I *like.* Not even something I love, something I vaguely enjoy. I swear.

Three Words: A Silent Voice

I needed something to listen to in the shower and chose this and when Garnt started talking about crying in the cinema it reminded me of when I went to see Jojo Rabbit in the cinema with my mum. Not many people were there cause it was one of the last days it was showing. I remember at multiple points in the movie turning to my mum (who'd already gone to see it at that point) and we'd both just be crying 😅 we did not care about the few other people we were just sobbing.

Unlike another anime podcasts I listen to (Rant Cafe lol), the Trash Taste boys are great at not spoiling. Thank you!
