Nice review. You might mention that the 12V cigarette port is regulated. This is important for folks using 12V fridges and CPAP machines. Most lower end power stations don't have this. Also you can combine the 12V input and USB PDW port to charge the power station at 100 watts.

Ahh good to know! I pinned this in case it will be helpful to others in the future. I didn't have any devices that needed a regulated 12V but it is good to learn about that requirement! And for the 12V input, I wish Anker included a 12V charger. They did in an earlier release but I think they removed it due to some issues. It looks like the higher-capacity Powerhouse 800 includes one though. Thanks again!

THANKYOU so much for this comment . I was hunting information on exactlyyyyyy this because I would like to use my CPAP with it and unfortunately the Jackery is a little too pricy. Again, Thankyou for your knowledge.

I been trying to figure out how long it takes to charge this thing up with a solar panel. Would a 100w solar charger...even though the unit could only take 60w be able to charge in an entire day?

The fan making that noise is a sure sign that it isn't a pure sine wave. Could be a modified sine wave or the inverters sine wave generator is pooched. Did you get the solar charging screen error?

Great review, thanks for the info. I got it already but I need to buy a portable solar panel for it. I saw many portable ones on Amazon, I need to know if I can charge it with a 100 w solar panel. Also what’s the input socket size or name?? Thank you

8mm input. Anker do their own panel called the Anker Powerport Solar 60, allegedly capable of "charging it at it's full 60w speed!", most I've ever seen is 7w, once, for 30 seconds. That panel cam barely charge a phone / 10000mah USB battery with sun on all 9 segments. And it's not waterproof. Also good luck finding out what the different indicator lights on it mean. I tried a 120w cheapie panel, that charged it great, for 20 minutes (and with the panel positioned perfectly, you'd think you'd get 60w with it half-shadowed / not perfectly positioned, but the output seems to drop off a cliff). Then I don't know if the panel got too hot (it wasn't a particularly hot day), or 120w tripped a breaker in the Powerhouse, but it stopped accepting anything from it.

Good test is to plug in electric heater, rated at 200w, 300w and 500w.

So I just double checked with my unit and yes you can but at reduced charging speeds to the internal battery. It successfully does pass-through charging. So with the provided 60w DC charger, the battery charges at 60w until I plug in my phone. Then the phone charges at full speed (for example: 18w) and the battery charge speed decreases to roughly 42w. Charging via USB c exhibited the same behavior.
